I contacted them to cater my event for 50 people and although the quote provided seemed fair, there were some issues with the logistics of the location (not their fault) that still needed to be worked out. They assured me that they'd work with me so we can figure out a solution but once everything was straightened out and I was trying to get in touch with them for 2 days, they finally told me they had already booked with someone else?! Needless to say I was very disappointed and was stuck starting my search for a new caterer all over again. I spoke on the phone with Leo and it was very direct regarding food choices, options for extras, and pricing. He then asked me to email him, I sent an email with my address, amount of people, choices for meats, and he responded quickly with a confirmation. The day before the event I spoke with him and confirmed one more time. He informed me he would be sending 2 of his team members. They arrived early and set everything up. I mean, they were quick and professional and so friendly. Their carne asada, al pastor, and pollo were flavorful and juicy. I loved how the al pastor had pineapple! Their salsas were delicious and we had plenty of limes, onions, cilantro and quesadillas, as well as rice and beans. We had over 50 people and we still had food left over. They will leave the left overs, so make sure you have gallon ziplock baggies or Tupperware for storage. Leo and his wife catered a taco party for me recently and it was beyond excellent. They arrived an hour and a half before the party started and had everything set up before the first guest arrived! I had requested tacos (3 meats), dirty dogs, nachos, taquitos, street corn, fruit cups, and churros, and everything was delicious! I received so many compliments that night and even days after. I just held a party on 4/22/17 and am 100% pleased with Taco El Botanas. The place I held the party at was a "propane free" venue and Leo easily made adjustments to ensure that I still had the "taco guy" style party. His employees showed up EARLY and were all set and ready to go long before the party started. They were professional and worked hard and quick to limit any lines for my guests. Had a party on Saturday for my sons birthday. They came on time and everything was set up. I was expecting Leo to cater but his sister came instead. I thought everything was going well until I see a new face I've never seen before popped out of No where. Assuming its Leo, he pulls me aside and says we need to talk. He starts by saying he had to drive all the way from Inglewood because his sister says there was waaaaay more than 50 people at the party which I had told him there would be. He says he stood at the door and "clicked" 75 people................. I had a guest list. There was definitely NOT 75 adults. I had 36 adults and 20 kids. When I say kids they range from 1 to 10 years old and there were 7 teenagers which I included in the adult count. He also said that he doesn't appreciate me telling him there's 50 at the party cause he would look like a "fool" when he runs out of food....... I ordered for 50. I expect food for 50. Who says he would look like a fool? Plus, when they left we had tons of chicken and pork leftover! It was the carne asada that was gone. Anyway he left a very bad taste in my mouth with that confrontation. I also counted 36 people in front of him and he says lots of people left..... 34 adults left my party in the middle? Then he corrects himself and says that some people ate 15-20 tacos and it's suppose to be 10...... So which is it? 75 people attending and me saying 50 or is it that some people had bigger appetites? I had 4. I will not be calling them again and will be calling another company. read more

Tacos El Botanas is great! Leo catered a party for us and was very proffesional and accomodating in going through everything we wanted for the day of. He came to our home (the site of the party) and walked the property to figure out the best place for him to set up and serve our guests. The day of he showed up (ready to be shocked) EARLY (15-20 min) and was ready to go. We had arranged for carne asada, chicken, quesadillas and veggies. He came through with all the condiments you expect on your taco. Everyone was very pleased with the food. He brought several different salsas that were all very tasty. We had considered getting our own salsa cause we likes it spicey but he ahs one that met our high expectations. We had booked the party for 60 people and had very close to that number show and there was ample food. Maybe too much as we will be eating carne asada and chicken left overs for the next week. We will be using Leo for all future events cause for the price you cant beat having someone show up to your home and cook fresh food for everyone while you actually get time to enjoy your party, or stress about the multitude of other things. Taco El Botanas is the way to go if you want a taco stand for your event. The owner, Leo, is as professional as they come, and he makes sure everything is perfect for your event. Leo sent two people to begin serving at our event and they were great. They were extremely friendly to our guests. We had tacos, quesadillas and bacon wrapped hot dogs for our baby shower. Everyone loved the food. We had a baseball theme so I ordered the bacon dogs for all the guys. Turns out even the girls were fans of the hot dogs. We went with Asada, al pastor and chicken tacos. Very frustrating experience! After having a phone conversation with Leo about catering for my son's 1yr birthday party, I agreed to hire him for the event. I asked him if the date was open and he confirmed it was. I told him to reserve it for my event. The next day, I sent a follow up email confirming the reservation and asking about the specifics of the packages. He promptly responded by addressing some of the questions but not all, I sent a follow up email and he didn't respond for couple days. He finally responded almost a week after I reserved the date with him stating that he doesn't have availability anymore on the date I requested. I hired them for my daughter's graduation party this past weekend and they were a hit! They showed up two hours before the party for prep and set up and stayed for 3 hours. We had the carne asada, al pastor, chicken tacos, and the bacon wrapped hot dogs. All the meats were very tasty! Him and his wife showed up two hours before the party started, to get set up which I thought was awesome! The food was DELICIOUS. We had three meat choices. Carne asada, chicken and pork with pineapples. For side dishes we had rice and beans. The beans were AMAZING! He also made complimentary quesadillas. The only thing I wish could've been different was the tortillas for the tacos. They were really small and thin which caused them to break as you were eating them.
