Dominic sat us down. Very welcoming and helpful. Jake was our server for for our large party today. Very open and attentive to our food allergies. I ordered shrimp scampi with a Peroni. Shrimp scampi was delicious. Plenty of plump shrimp and the sauce was amazing. Of course they came through with the awesome bread and our calamari appetizers. Just like last time the calamari was flaky, tender and enjoyable to eat. We also received some of their chocolate chip cookies. So good! Jacob The manager even came by to say hi. Thank you Jake, Jacob and the rest of the team!

Can we talk parm? This weekend's pickleball games wrapped with huge portions of old-school Italian food at the venerable Maria's Italian Kitchen! Eggplant parm was the order on everyone's lips. And as a respected parm picker, I was tasked with vetting its worthiness. When asked, "Is the eggplant thinly sliced, crispy, layered, and covered in a rich, savory sauce," the waiter replied, "It's my son's favorite dish." My reputation was on the line I looked at the waiter, he looked at me, and he added, "Even my wife likes it." We took the plunge. The layered stack arrived, bubbling with cheese and red sauce in a hot skillet -- a good sign! Sauce was a 7/10 -- could've used another day on the stove. But If the number of doggy bags that left the restaurant was any indication, parm was a pickleball hit -- and likely on everyone''s dinner plates tonight. Highly recommended.

The food was really bad. I won't be ordering from Maria's Italian Kitchen again. For the price, it definitely wasn't worth it. The quality was terrible. The bread was burnt, dry, and hard instead of soft and tasty. I ordered the Parmesan chicken marinara, and the pasta tasted oddly tangy. The chicken pieces were huge, almost like they were hormone-filled, and the vegetables were burnt and drenched in oil. Worst Italian food I've ever tasted! Please go somewhere else. Not worth it!

I had dinner at this Maria's location with friends last night. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti. I'm always a bit skeptical when I order eggplant parmigiana because it's often not cooked right, but I also like to order things at restaurants that I don't make it home and eggplant parmigiana is one of those things. I was thrilled to discover that the eggplant was cooked perfectly; not overdone and not under done. The service was fantastic too.

This was my second visit and the food remains good. After a perfectly cooked salmon last time, I tried the Eggplant Parmesan with spaghetti marinara today. It was delicious, though be warned that it comes on a very hot plate! We also enjoyed the bread appetizer with balsamic and extra virgin oil and the side Caesar salad was a great size. The atmosphere is very comfortable with cozy chairs and a bar in the back. It was the perfect volume for a lunch with friends and the staff was both friendly and attentive. Between the great service and the daily soup specials, this is definitely a reliable spot for a great meal.

first time at this maria's location & I was totally impressed with the overall experience of dining here. got a comfy window booth & waited for my friends to arrive. the waitress, denise, couldn't have been nicer. she remembered waiting on my dear friends before... they have been customers of this maria's for 38 years! my chicken piccata was so delicious & the portion was extremely generous. don't forget to try the garlic knots. they are quite addictive. all of us loved our meals & we finished it off with a divine tiramisu for the table. for a small chain restaurant, I was totally blown away by the service, the food & the comfy dining room. will I be back? yep, this is sure to become my go-to italian to satisfy weekly cravings. I was too busy enjoying my meal to snap a photo but I did take a photo of my leftover portion for my sunday dinner at home!

Hadn't been there in a while, but before that I lived closer, was there all the time Great food, terrific food awesome food We were served by Zachary the perfect waiter it was my dad's birthday and we were treated so well everything was perfect - we always love how comfortable the restaurant is. We always try to get one of the front booths but we've pretty much sat everywhere in the restaurant over the years It's a consistently a wonderful place Even though I've moved a little farther away, I am reminded that I'm gonna make the drive more often. Thank you Maria's.

Sorry Olive Garden, you won't ever see us again!! I've been to Maria's twice...once in Northridge and again in West LA. We finally visited our local spot here in Sherman Oaks!! Why did we wait so long?? lol. When we arrived, there was plenty of seating inside and out. We chose outside because it was a beautiful evening. Our server, wish I could remember his name...was very attentive! We ordered spaghetti with a huge meatball for our son, I got the calamari diavalo which was great with just the right amount of heat and the the hubby loves Italian sausage so he got a pasta dish with it. We were really satisfied! And loved that we had enough for leftovers the next day. We will definitely patronize again...soon!

Does this place have a special lunch time menu / smaller portions?

I lived nearby for 9 years and order just a salad or a pasta dish countless times. When did this 'required min of $20' kick in and do they still charge a delivery fee on top?

At this time, there's a $2.99 delivery fee and no minimum order.

The salmon salad is my personal favorite and I order it constantly, but the avocado toast deserves its own moment. I brought a friend recently who said "avocado toast always tastes the same" -- and I told her not here. She understood immediately on her first bite. It is bursting with flavor in a way that has no business being as good as it is. I mean, it's bread, avocado, some cheese, fresh basil.... but it SINGS! The desserts are delicious, the server recommendations are genuinely solid (they actually know the menu and steer you right), and the service overall is warm and attentive. Special shoutout to Miles, who is always a joy and makes you feel genuinely welcomed every time. The space is small with both indoor and outdoor seating, but that's part of the charm -- it feels less like a restaurant and more like going over to a friend's house for dinner. They take real care of you here, attentive, superior, friendly service. If you haven't been, go. And when you get there, order the avocado toast -- even if you think you've had good avocado toast before. You haven't had this one. But seriously, anything you order will be great! The restaurant was not super busy at the time so not sure why they were "rushing us". 2. The tiramisu... again this is not my first time at Uovo although it is the first time I visited the Studio City spot; there was something off with the Tiramisu to the point that my friend and I did not even finish the dessert. There was a chocolate fudge thing on top as you can see in the picture that was way too much and way too overwhelming. Could not taste the coffee at all. The cream was very heavy... The food and the experience were excellent. Our server was incredibly friendly and gave us some great recommendations to start the night. We began with the house bread, which was soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, and served with balsamic and olive oil. Simple and delicious. Next up was their homemade Caesar salad. Instead of traditional croutons they use toasted crumbs, and honestly it was a game changer. The texture worked perfectly with the dressing. For our mains we had the Dover sole piccata which was bright, buttery, and exactly what we were craving, along with the seafood linguine that was rich and flavorful. We wrapped things up with a cappuccino cheesecake and an Americano which was the perfect way to end the meal. Great service, great food, and a really enjoyable dinner overall. 10/10 recommend. We got there about five minutes before our reservation at noon and the hostess told us to wait outside until they were open. Not a problem. HOWEVER, she never came back out to get us once they were open which was my first red flag because she left us waiting about 10 minutes past our reservation time. I go back inside to ask if we were going to be seated for our reservation and she asks under what name...mind you I was there before opening so she already had my name and time for reservation before no one else was there yet. The food itself was great but our service was absolutely terrible. We weren't checked on throughout the meal (again the restaurant was NOT crowded) and after completing our meal I realized the hostess deleted my reservation. For those who use OpenTable you know you get points for every completed reservation. I reached out privately to management first about my overall experience to hopefully rectify the issue. I wasn't looking for any incentives but that they at least train their wait staff better and resubmit my reservation in the system so I could both redeem my points and leave a review. It never happened. In an economy where everything is expensive just stepping outside I really value good service as well as good food. If the food is great but service is terrible I will never go back and this is that spot. Discrimination shows up in different ways and I will not patronize a business who blatantly does not show all of their customers the same level of respect and service. We parked in one of their 3 parking spots in the back and entered through the rear entrance. We were greeted by Aya who mentioned they were having some plumbing problems so we needed to sit in the front section of the restaurant. The place is pretty small and compact, with about 10 tables. It's family owned and been around for 25 years. The prices are pretty affordable for the portion sizes. Not much ambiance or decorations, but there was some nice Italian music playing overhead and some Christmas decorations that are apparently hung up year-round. Both Thomas and Aya waited on us and they were both pleasant and kind with nice smiles. Thomas quickly brought out some waters along with their complimentary focaccia that came with olive tapenade. The bread tasted old and stale and wasn't warm, but I liked the tapenade. Surprisingly, we were never asked if we wanted anything else to drink and also never got refills on our waters until I had to ask for one. I ordered the Italian salad with dressing on the side and I asked if the carrots that came in the salad were cooked or raw, since I don't like raw carrots. Aya happily suggested that they can cook me some carrots separately and bring them on the side, which is what they did. Even though the carrots were not really cooked that well, the gesture was still greatly appreciated. Other than that, all the ingredients were very fresh and the dressing was LIGHT, just how I like it. For our entrèes, I got the Pollo Della Cassa which came with chicken breast and mushrooms baked with mozzarella cheese, served on pasta with Alfredo sauce. ($24.95), with an add-on of shrimp (+$3.00 for 3 shrimps). I also asked for light sauce, not too soupy, and that's exactly how it was prepared. The food was piping hot, very fresh, and delicious. My son ordered the Pollo Limone ($24.95) that came with grilled chicken breast with lemon sauce on mushroom risotto. He was not the biggest fan of his food but still ate all of it. He also asked if he could get a side of veggies and they gladly brought out a medley of sautéed broccoli, zucchini, and carrots. We were not charged for the side of veggies and also the salad, which was very generous of them. To end the meal, you get a small complimentary square of Tiramisu which is a nice little treat. The customer service is truly the best part of this restaurant and you can tell that there is a lot of love involved here. They really care about their guests and want you to feel happy and satisfied. Due to some minor ticks here and there, I think I am going to stick with 4 stars overall. The restaurant was clean but just kind of unpleasant. You could also smell the bleach right when you walk in and sometimes the smell would waft through the air. It was also really hot in the restaurant and I don't think the A/C was working. They have one bathroom for each gender and they were very clean. I also asked for some change to leave cash for the tip, but Thomas told me they didn't have any cash in the restaurant. How can that be? Thank you Spumoni, Aya, Thomas, and the chefs. Will I return? Maybe, maybe not.

As a Sicilian-American, I'm incredibly picky about pizza. Pizzana is one of the very few places in…read moreLos Angeles that consistently lives up to the hype. The secret is the dough. Light, airy, flavorful, and somehow indulgent without leaving you feeling weighed down. Every pizza tastes thoughtfully crafted, with high-quality ingredients that let the flavors shine. Their signature slow-fermented dough has earned a devoted following for good reason. IT IS AWESOME. And for awesome you pay the price and shut your trap. This is a neighborhood place and I am thankful that it is not overrun with a fake crowd. But I feel like some of you are sleeping on this place. You travel all the way to Italy to take pasta and pizza classes and they do workshops here! The Cacio e Pepe pizza deserves its cult status, but honestly, I've never had a bad meal here. The service is always warm, the atmosphere is buzzing, and every time I leave I find myself planning what I'm ordering on my next visit. In a city full of pizza options, Pizzana remains one of the few that actually feels worth the calories. Sherman Oaks is lucky to have Pizzana right on Ventura Boulevard. And join the Cacio club and get a free pizza every month!
