In town for a soccer tournament and wanted some authentic Mexican. Taco Express did not disappoint. Quality food & authentic atmosphere. Bonus had the Premier League game on.

Super fast, delicious, great service. I came in for a take out order, was greeted quickly. Ordered 4 Express Tacos and they were ready in less than 10 mins. The cashier was nice and courteous, and made sure I knew all my options as well as offering me salsa and napkins.

Special Nachos

Taco Express is located in a building strip on Pendleton Pike. I ordered the nachos with the chips on the side so they wouldn't be soggy by the time I got home. They charged a 1.00 to separate the meat from the chips. They were doing Karaoke tonight which gave this a more lively environment. Many patrons entering were not wearing masks or asked to although the sign is posted. Now for the food: The Special Nacho had shrimp, chicken and steak. This was well full of flavor and very filling. They forgot to add my Tamale so I'll have to find out later what I missed. Overall, this is a good place for Mexican food.

Steak enchiladas

Don't let the generic name fool you, they have authentic Mexican food. I had the steak enchiladas lunch special, and it was delicious! My coworker had the Torta Cubana, which came stacked with all kinds of meats. It's a little run down inside, but the food did not disappoint! They share an entry door and parking lot with Dickey's BBQ on Pendleton Pike in Lawrence.

Birria juice

I bought 3 birria tacos today (7/4/24) absolutely DISGUSTING! Idk who they had in the kitchen today but they need to be fired! The meat was dry and hardly seasoned. The birria "broth" was flavorless. I eat here often and this is my 1st time having a complaint. I hope the business sees this and fire whoever they let cook today bc the food was not hitting! I'm so mad

Great customer service. Also the place was clean and neat. The place is a little small but they do have huge TVs. Don't let the name fool you they have more than just tacos it's literally a Mexican restaurant I would recommend changing the name. To begin with this is a family owned place at least that's what I saw on the Yelp reviews and it does look like it. I've been here twice already and honestly it's second place that has authentic Mexican food here in Indianapolis. In addition I ordered 3 steak tacos on corn tortilla I didn't expect for them to have double tortilla which is a big plus for me. And also they put a lot of meat on the tacos as will. Another plus. Moreover they have a red hot sauce which is so spicy but tasty I recommend getting that sauce. Furthermore I totally recommend coming and trying this place out for sure.

Tostadas , rice, and beans. Lunch combo.

Birria Tacos are good. She allowed me to sub my meat with Asasda instead. Service didn't take long. Limes were dry.

Really authentic tacos and burritos but a little pricey for the location. 4 tacos and a drink going in the $25 is a bit over.

We were seated in their outdoor area where the heaters were not turned on and the day had been rainy and cold so most of the table was cold throughout our meal. The service was a bit slow but it being cinco de mayo, we understood that things may move a little slower than any other day. They had some specials for the day but I got my old faithful, Maria's Enchiladas with steak. It comes with rice and beans and it's just so so soooo good!!! I also got the Arroyo Margarita which was good but def could tell they were adding a bit more sour mix to the drink. Overall, it was a good experience but I will try to come back again on a day that is not as busy.

Even with the rush, I was able to snag a seat quite quickly. I was so impressed by how efficiently the staff cleared and prepared my table; it's those little touches of attentiveness that really make a difference. I decided to keep things classic and ordered the Asada Tacos. The service was remarkably swift my order arrived in under ten minutes, which is exactly the kind of efficiency I adore. While the initial presentation was a bit more understated than I anticipated, the flavor was a total 8/10 triumph! The staff was also incredibly accommodating when it came to my preferences; they brought over a lovely selection of chips and sauces, but were perfectly gracious when I mentioned I prefer to avoid the heat. These are truly some of the best tacos I've had the pleasure of trying lately. I will most certainly be a regular here!

I don't know how else to explain it. The queso is delicious. They have a salsa bar, and I'm not joking when I say there are a lot of delicious homemade salsas on the salsa bar. You have to buy a basket of chips, but it's very inexpensive and so worth it for the salsa bar! Lastly, the Al pastor is the bomb. The inside is really nice, the owners are so gracious and remember us when we come back each time. Don't sleep on this place--it's perfect for a weekday dinner or a weekend date night!

The restaurant is sleek and has a cool vibe, but we immediately realized it was not going to be what we thought of when we saw "street tacos" mentioned during Google search. It's more of a metropolitan American Soul fusion place, with a heavy emphasis on loaded, uniquely flavored tacos instead of traditional Mexicana. The server was wonderful in explaining their menu and gave multiple recommendations, which I went with all of her great suggestions once I told her what I was craving. My husband didn't enjoy his appetizer, saying it tasted too sweet instead of savory for him, but the server was great at being aware of our plates and took the appetizer off our bill when she noticed he wasn't eating it without us even mentioning it. I got three different tacos, and the only one I didn't enjoy was due to the Mac n cheese that was stuffed in it. It just didn't taste or feel right having a taco with macaroni that was pushed in so densely that it became a sponge. The other two were great! My husband gave his burrito a 3/5, as he felt it was too much one note. Overall, don't come here if you're looking for upscale Mexicana, but instead want to enjoy interesting fusion flavors and fun cocktails. Great place for a group outing or celebration!

Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. This is a great local business in the area to support: offers a diverse menu of options with food that is comforting and tasty.
