I had heard about their taco special which I'm still unsure of whether or not it's only on Wednesdays BUT it was so worth the $11 total I spent. The tacos (your choice of protein) were $1.49 each. I was honestly surprised that they had plenty of onions,cilantro, two different sauces & a baggie of radishes & limes for that price. I will say, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the shredded chicken although clearly seasoned (color wise) with sazon, it was dried completely out with only a hint of flavor. I added the green sauce on the chicken ones and it gave it a little umph but then I tasted the amazing seasoning in the rice and beans & WOW. I put a little of both on the chicken tacos and that was just what they needed. All in all the tacos were an 8/10 and the rice+beans were 10/10. The rice was cooked perfectly & the best compliment to the soupy beans. Parking: TERRIBLY positioned & shared lot, spots are tight & all the businesses stay with a crowd. Service: the cashier wasn't unpleasant BUT I had every intention on sitting down and eating inside (they have about 8 tables and 4 small booths) but she assumed I wanted it to-go without asking me as she asked the family of Spanish/hispanic/latino/a heritage before AND after me. In the moment I didn't feel slighted because I think I was just so tired & hangry but it definitely is memorable now that I'm writing the review a day later. I could have very well corrected her and said I wanted to dine in but I'm not one to force it when I feel unwanted or unwelcomed . The restaurant is in a little strip mall that caters to Latin American businesses. The dining room is small but tidy. Daily specials are listed on a board. A friendly server took our order and I opted for the lunch fajitas for $7.99. They brought us out a small tray of four different sauces to try. The meals came out fairly quickly - piping hot and look delicious. My lunch came with rice and beans. The mix of chicken and fried peppers with onions. Portions were generous for lunch - I couldn't finish. My meal was delicious. They had a sign up featuring dollar tacos on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. I can't stop thinking about going back for those. Before my friends and I went inside the restaurant, we noticed a sign on the door that requires everyone to wear masks inside the restaurant, which was reassuring to see. As we walked in to order at the register, we noticed that the small restaurant was fairly busy -- which is always a good sign to me. There were many groups conversing and eating, which made me excited to try this place out. We all ordered a variety of foods: chips and guacamole, tacos, burritos, quesadillas and sopes. Personally, I ordered a grilled chicken taco, a sope and a Mexican Coke. Grilled chicken tacos have always been my go-to at Mexican restaurants, so I would be remiss to not order it here. My mom's sopes have always been one of my favorite home cooked meals as I was growing up, so I mainly ordered one to get a taste of my childhood again. Sopes are a traditional Mexican dish with a fried masa base, which is basically like a thick, corn tortilla with a border around the edges to keep all the ingredients from falling out. Super Tacos include beans, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream on their sopes -- just like my mom's. As for the Mexican Coke, it would be a crime to not get one at a Mexican restaurant. All of our food was out in no time, which was surprising considering how busy the restaurant was. Along with our food, the server brought out a platter of 4 different salsas, limes and radishes to top off on our dishes. Each sauce had a different level of spice, so a lot of us agreed that the salsa platter was a great touch for our large group. I immediately went for the spiciest salsa and a lime to add on my taco and sope, which was a great decision on my part. The food was just like your classic Mexican venture at Luciana's, La Piedad or your local Mexican restaurant in your hometown. The tacos were doubled tortilla-d up and topped with fresh cut onion and cilantro, and the sope had all the ingredients I was expecting. It was the atmosphere, however, that made Super Tacos unique from your typical Mexican restaurant. It was the tile flooring, small yet homey space and the Mexican candies available for purchase at the register that really tied the restaurant together. There were no colorful decorations on the walls, and the dining tables and chairs were as simple as could be. These distinguishing features are truly what sold the authenticity of Super Tacos for me. Our food was eaten almost immediately, and we all agreed that this restaurant was a great choice. I was partially upset at myself for getting full so quickly because I wanted more. It had been a while since I had Mexican food, so Super Tacos did a great job at fulfilling my wishes for a good Mexican meal. Brush off your high school Spanish, because there is a bit of a language barrier. But if you're just sticking with tacos, the meat is in both Spanish and English. So a simple "dos" whatever will do just fine. Now onto the taco. Your basic tacos come with a choice of meat and onions on corn (yes!) tortilla. A mild (green) and spicy (red/orange) sauce are provided. I was in at 11am and may well have been their first customer. The meat I ordered was freshly prepared so it was not dry like it is as if the meat was sitting under a heat lamp waiting for the next order. Bonus points for using a real plate. There is no soda fountain so bring your own bottle of water or pay for your bottle/can there. The same products you find in most Hispanic markets and other taco places are found here. Was honestly the most disappointing out of everything. Also, tried to get a taste of their horchata before I buy it and they didn't allow it. Which is weird because every other place that has agua Fresca allows a taste before bought.
