The tacos had an amazing flavor and the onions were caramelized to perfection, but overall it was a bit dry. There was a crema on top, but it didn't help to add moisture. The pina salsa was incredible though-- you can tell they use fresh pineapple instead of canned, and it wasn't spicy at all. The to-go order even came with a really cute branded bag! Came here for lunch the other day. I hadn't been here for a year or two but the food came out as good as I had remembered it. The food is fresh and of good quality here. We ordered some fish tacos, a steak taco, and elote (Mexican-style grilled corn). The fish tacos were good. It was very well-packed with lot of fish and had a really great sauce. The fish wasn't as crispy as I'd have liked but it wasn't too big a deal; these are some of the best fish tacos I've had in Baltimore. The steak taco was good as well. The meat was well-seasoned and was tender, though it was just on the verge of being overcooked and dry. Here's a tip though... if you'd like authentic tasting tacos like those from taco trucks and taquerias, do without the cheese, tomato, and lettuce. Instead, put in some cilantro, onions, and lime juice (all of which are available at the salsa bar). Speaking of the salsa bar, its pretty large. Lots of different styles to try from. The elote was good too. For those of you who may not be familiar with it, it's corn that's been grilled and covered with it chili-powder, lime, and cheese. It may sound a little weird but it actually tastes really good! Overall, it's a nice, fresh Mexican joint. The prices are skewed towards the more pricier side of things (which I suppose isn't too surprising given its at Harbor East). The fish taco platter (2 tacos + rice, beans, lettuce, sour cream, guac), steak taco, elote, and a fountain drink came up to be just under $20. That being said, I split that food with someone else so I suppose it was somewhat reasonable for lunch. But if you eat a lot or are really hungry, it might get expensive.... read more

Place used to be a lot better. Their best asset is the queso dip. The chicken tends to be dry and really unedible. I am not sure if they changed food sources/chef or what but I have been 5-8 times over the last 3 years living in fells point, and it has gone down hill over time. As far as atmosphere, it is great for a happy hour drink etc., the food needs to get back to where it once was. Has great potential to do that assuming it would only be minor adjustments in the kitchen. read more

This last time, I tried their birria for the first time, which is my go to the last couple of years when eating Mexican, and was genuinely shocked by how bad it was. I took two more tentative bites after the first one because I thought, there is no way they're using American cheese. No, they definitely are. I ended up calling because I was disappointed that I didn't have anything to eat for lunch (it was that bad, which is remarkable when you're talking about tacos), and the staff confirmed, with no irony, that they use white American and further, that they use it on all their dishes. Crazy. I'd also ordered lunch for the staff of a local business who had been really kind to me recently, so I can only hope their food wasn't anything like mine. I would go inside to order if you can just to check those out. I'm not sure how frequently it might change. We got a small complimentary bag of tortilla chips and three sauces - a mild red salsa, salsa verde, and what seemed to be a spicy sour cream. I never figured out exactly what that last one was. I ordered the al pastor tacos and a steak quesadilla. If a restaurant has al pastor tacos, I'm basically guaranteed to get them, and I have come to realize each place does them a little differently. I was a little unimpressed with these only because the meat was so dry. The pineapple wasn't very juicy either, so that didn't help much. Between adding some of the salsas for some moisture and the amount of onion/cilantro, I really felt like I just lost the flavor of the taco itself. The steak quesadilla wasn't overwhelmingly good or bad. The only comment I have is that it could've used more steak! Based on this experience alone I'd give three stars, but I've had their food a few times before and consistently enjoyed it, so I'm giving them four.
