My husband and I were there on May 4th and all I can say is "wow"! We went there around 6pm for a burrito and taco bowl. When we walked in the kids were decorating for the next days holiday. Not one person greeted us. Not just that but everyone had smug looks on their faces. As if they were annoyed we were there to order food. I went down the line ordering my food. There was no cheese or salsa, it was completely empty. Ok, but now I had to ask the kid to get it for me which he didn't seem happy about because he has to walk back into the kitchen. Mind you there was only us and another couple in there at that moment. If you see something is empty just replace it. Now, that was not what really pissed me off. What made me never want to go back here again was that the place was filthy. The floors were covered in food and not one table was cleaned off. They had the decorations taking up three different tables and the other tables were dirty. Not only did they ignore this but they did not clean any of the tables or move the decorations when they saw a line forming and people needed seating. My husband had to clean off our own table! People moved the decorations off the tables themselves. I was so mad and could not believe that this was how these kids acted. There clearly is no manager there and the kids run the show. One girl was on her phone the entire time and was holding an open to go box hugged to her chest. How disgusting! The kids who run this place are rude and have no respect for the owner or it's patrons. There was one kid there with a black backwards hat that had a smile on his face and seemed friendly. Whenever, people mention "Taco Hombre" they usually say it's "ok but the kids who run it are rude and don't do anything". I will never go back here again. Especially if the owner continues to let self entitled kids run that place. read more

Went here based on the other reviews which were basically good. The food was way overpriced. The restaurant was more of a fast food joint. You order the food at the counter and wait for it to be prepared, then find yourself a table in the back. We paid $18 for a cheese quesdilla and a taquito 'meal' which consisted of 3 beef taquitos, a cup of rice and beans and a small platter of stale nacho chips with hot salsa. The quesadilla came with a tiny cup (2 oz max) of sour cream and another tiny cup of hot sauce. 2 small sodas. We ate our meal and left there starving. That night my body revolted and I got Montezuma's revenge. Don't understand the comments about live music and events. There's just no room for that sort of thing in this place. A little hole in the wall kind of place. The kids inside work hard, I guess today they were tired and not all that friendly. Put that aside. Walk up and order what you want, and exactly how you want it. That's how they will make it and they won't chintz on the food either. I had a lovely shredded beef quesadilla with everything (I mean eerything) on it and they took care of me. I could not finish it and had to take a couple of slices of it home for later. Only thing I would want, is maybe a titch more AC and fewer noisy kids running about. But its all part of their charm. read more

Although this place is small and is "like a fast food joint" the food is amazing! I've had both the steak and shredded beef quesadillas, and a shredded beef burrito, both are delicious and the portions are SO BIG. If you like or have ever had Chipotle or Qdoba... this place blows them out of the water. The food is authentic. And the prices really are not that Outrageous for the portion that you get. The staff is always friendly and attentive. They put the food together fast and right in front of you. I probably eat here 2 times a week. . If i could give more stars i would. This place is a great find! Chad, the owner, is one of the kindest people you'll ever meet. Staff is very friendly. Now to the good stuff...the food! I had the chicken burrito on a whole wheat wrap with guacamole, black beans, all the veggies and hot sauce. I have to say...it was one of the best burritos I've ever eaten. Not watery, not messy. I see other reviewers compare Taco Hombre to Chipotle and they're not mistaken... but trust me when I say it's even better! More options and EXCELLENT service. My fiance and I are regulars and the staff pretty much knows our order by heart at this point. The portions are monstrous and we've been going here regularly for about a year without ever having a bad experience. Love the new location (friendlier parking) and am happy to see that Taco Hombre is doing well! Definitely worth the visit if you're in the Warwick area. read more

This week my wife and I were standing waiting to be helped as the other employees ignore your presence... how rude is this??? As I was waiting for the girl to take my order I observed the uncleanliness of the kitchen area.... food on the floor... the girl threw a mistaken burrito across the room and missed the garage can and landed on the floor... she left the food there and took her time to make another one.... We finally ordered, sat and ate. The quesadilla we ordered had hardly any meat and was overloaded with cheese, and did not have the black beans we ordered. Not cool cutting the meat portion where I am not receiving an adequate amount of meat.....:as was at one time your great quesadilla we used to love..... on the people starting coming in we made a point to pay for our not so good meal.... big mistake... my wife waited like 10 minutes for someone take take payment for our meal..... what are the other employees doing in the back kitchen???? Wow! Amazingly authentic cal-mex style fare, extremely fresh, healthy vegetables and vegetarian refries. Outstanding chow, period. Only one minor drawback: Servers seem to use their gloves ot handle everything behind the counter, and then they squeeze the juice out of the meat, etc., with those same gloves. Although I was sad to see the business that used to be in this space leave, once I ate at Taco Hombre, there's nothing quite like living in the moment! There are menus all over the place; on the walls and available on paper, so figuring out what to order is very easy. The variety is great, and there are many options for vegetarians or pescatarians. Every time I go, I swear I'm going to get tacos, but that only happens one-quarter of the time, as there are so many delicious options to choose from. First of all - Tamales. Yes, sometimes they don't have them, but they're hand-made and fantastic. As a result, my first question at the counter is usually "What kind of tamales do you have today?" The reply dictates what the rest of my order will be. If they have them, get them; they're wonderful. Next - Burritos. You can get them stuffed with anything you'd like, and when I say stuffed, I mean stuffed. The burritos are always huge, finger-licking-good, belly-filling goodness. You can choose what kind of rice, beans, meat(s), veggies, salsa, guacamole, and lots more. Sometimes I have to resort to using a (*gasp*) fork, but it helps tackle a big burrito. Also, of course - Tacos. Similar to burritos, you can pretty much get them packed with whatever you would like. One of my friends is gluten-sensitive, so it's great that she can get these with soft corn tortilla or hard corn tortilla shells. The grilled shrimp tacos are my favorite, however I'm also partial to the fish tacos. When we get these as take-out, they never make it home! Finally, but not forgotten - Churros! If you don't know what a churro is, it's a long, extruded, ridged stick of dough that's deep-fried and then rolled around in cinnamon sugar. They make them home-make and fresh here, so don't miss out! We usually order them halfway through our meal so that by the time we're ready for them, they're coming out of the kitchen. I reiterate: don't miss out on these! Even if you can only eat one, take the rest home and eat them for breakfast or four-in-the-mornin's! read more

I have loved this place ever since they opened in Warwick. I still remember my first bite into one of their burritos! Amazing! The food is fresh and you pick and choose your selections as the server fills your burrito to the brim! The location itself is small but very clean, even with their revolving door of customers. You cannot go wrong with anything you order. How I wish they would deliver within the village at least! I've been wanting to write a review of this restaurant for years now. I was prompted to tonight only because of our horrible meals at El Bandido in Middletown. They should be embarrassed to call themselves an authentic Mexican restaurant. Although the food is great, I am concerned about the cleanliness of the place. The employees dress in whatever clothes they seem fit. Their hair is not pulled back thus they dangle their hair in the food as it is being prepared in front of you. Not a good representation of their good food. read more

I was coming in from central jersey 1hour and a half away, I decided to place my order 1 hour ahead. Arrived 10 minutes early and stood in the "pickup here" area only to be completely ignored. Finally after saying "excuse me" because I was apparently invisible I had asked if my order was ready. Instead I get an attitude from a little kid working there, saying "the pickup time is 6:45" So, we wait. 6:45 comes by, still not ready. Now, 5 minutes later, they say the shredded chicken won't be ready for another 10 minutes for my burrito, I can opt for regular chicken, fine. Minutes later, they are out of regular chicken for my nachos, do I want shredded instead or wait another 10 minutes. So after changing my whole order, waiting 20 minutes (even tho I placed my order an hour ahead), I finally got my food. read more

We were very excited to have a new ethnic restaurant in town. There's an overabundance of Italian and pizza places here. I ordered a chicken burrito and it was decent, but I felt that the rice was too mushy and the flavor, although good, was inconsistent throughout the burrito. My sons had quesadillas and they were happy with them. It's only been open 6 days so I'm sure the kinks will get worked out. We'll definitely try it again. read more

I have been eating at Taco Hombre for years and absolutely love the staff and the food they make is top notch. I do have to vent a little however, since moving into their new location the quesadillas are roughly half the size they used to be and now cost more than they ever have. I'm greatly disappointed as I used to choose them over other restaurants because of the overall experience as well as the great value. I regret to say I will no longer be bringing the mass of international students from Mountain Creek anymore. Maybe they have to pay more for rent at their new place or maybe chicken and cheese has spiked to such a high price they can no longer afford to give the portions they once did. The food is good when they get the order right. Their staff consists of about a dozen teenagers who sit there and do nothing. They'll make sure you feel uncomfortable while you're waiting, especially the blonde. It's too bad because they're in a good location. Luckily there's an authentic Mexican place 5 minutes away in Florida who are extremely nice, well priced and delicious. read more

I do not normally write a negative review of a business but after last night's experience I feel like I have no choice. Let me start off by saying I have gone to Taco Hombre many times before and their food was usually on point. However last night changed my opinion going forward. I place a relatively large order online (maybe that was my first mistake). The order consisted of 2 burritos, a burrito bowl, taquitos, a quesadilla and a few other things. Normally in the past when I ordered everything came as individual meals. This time the burritos we're together, the taquitos we're just thrown in a bag. The quesadilla was in a container with nothing else and the burrito bowl was plain. Now because everything came in that manner the taquitos where dried out, there was no salsa to go with them. The burrito bowl was plain and there was no sour cream or salsa with the quesadilla. Actually now that I think about it I did not get any salsa or sauces with anything! Even after being charged for extra. One of the plates was down as a combo and I didn't get a drink either. The only thing that was right and edible with the meal where the burittos. I then called to complain and I was told a manager would call back. I did not get a call until 7:50 saying that because the store closed at 8 there was nothing they could do and hey would call back in the morning. Today I did not get a call back until 3:30 and that was after I called and said no one has even attempted to call me back. One of the owners left me a message saying they would issue me a $20 gift card. I will never be going back to this location as the whole experience was terrible and there was little effort to try and correct it. I would give a no star rating if possible! read more

If i could give this 1/2 star I would. I ordered the beef tacos. There was no mexican flavors. It tasted like beef gravy . There was no lime, no mexican cheeses. They put so few of the toppings (other than lettuce). I was so disappointed with this place. I wouldn't say this experience was a good one for me. read more

I am giving one star because the food is fine. Customer service is horrible. The employee who said she would bring out our food walked out on her break and never brought to us. When I inquired where our food was, all the employees looked at me dumbfounded. To top it off, it wasn't even busy!! They said sorry but it was the empty "sorry" of people who don't care. Too bad.
