I have loved taco John's since I was a kid. They make some of the best and freshest tacos that you can find and their hot sauce is amazing. I love their soft flour tacos. They put the right amount of all of the ingredients on each one making sure that you get a bite of everything. They are not as expensive as other fast food, restaurants and their potatoes. Oh my gosh they're so yummy. Service is fast and friendly, and the place hasn't changed in a long time and I think that's one of the best things about this place is that they put more focus on the food and not the fixtures of the place. Tweakers hired!!! What a freakin nightmare. Saturday night at 8pm and my taco run took 42 minutes. All of those minutes...in the drive-thru. The customer in front of me turned her van off, and that's not a good look at a fast food joint. Either was the food hand-off. The employee filled the bag (his job) w delicious tacos and loaded 3 large pops on TOP of their food. In a plastic sack? C'mon. One guy couldn't stick at a station but was everywhere at once, contemplating his task before walking off, dropping my food, and looking at me in confusion when I said that there were 2 dead giveaway tweakers making everything harder than it had to be. Yep. The tweakers took over Taco John's, and they can have it. It was so depressing. I understand having staff shortages, but I'll never go back if the owners are cool with trash representing 53 years of business! I'd shut down two days a week. I personally would have refused to serve 3 of the 4 kids on staff. A new freakin low for Missoula. I'm never going near that rat trap again.... I ordered the chicken quesadilla. Made me sick & hurt my stomach like never before. I wouldn't eat here again.

The food was okay. I liked the amount of guacamole on the side. The quesadilla and soft taco were alright... fresh veggies on the taco. I realize they're not authentic Mexican food, but they're not trying to be, otherwise the name would be Taco Juan's and Mexicans would work there. The service was fast. A couple things. I ordered through DoorDash and didn't receive half of my meal. I'm now having to deal with DoorDash to get refunded and to re-order my food. Second, I decided to call taco John's to just let them know that they should be double checking their orders before sending it out on DoorDash. I asked to speak to the manager on duty and I hear a gentleman in the background say "of course somebody wants to speak to a manager." Now for all I know that gentleman's name could've been Skylar B the one who took my order and is listed on my receipt. And to that gentleman I wouldn't have to if y'all did your jobs correctly. When the female manager got on, I told her what happened before I could even finish. She hung up on me. I advise the owner to do some digging into the types of employees he/she has working for them because they're gonna destroy this business and run it to the ground and it's gonna go quick. We live fairly close to this site, so we use to order from there several times a week. We've noticed that their service and food has gone down hill in the last year. At first we chalked it up to the pandemic but this last run through was the last straw for us. We ordered a bean burrito, extra lettuce with sour cream. I have posted a picture of what we got (maybe a tablespoon of beans, no sour cream, and barely any lettuce. We ordered a regular taco and it had sour cream on it. We ordered 3 potato ole's and received one. The potatoes we got were cold, stale and lacking any seasoning. We will never return. Ever. read more

My two star rating is mainly because of the cleanliness, or lack thereof, inside the restaurant. The restrooms are never clean and the fountain machine is always broken. I have to question if it is because of the staff. From the looks of some of them, I am not surprised at how it looks inside. The food is so-so, but nothing spectacular. read more

Amazing food and nice people, only one I don't recommend in the state is in Kalispell we had such a bad experience there with a young guy working drive through and was extremely rude, but other wise Missoula and every other ones they have been great with me! Kalispell not a huge fan. read more

Okay. That's it. We're done. We're regular customers and we have seen our fair share of horrible service lately. Do they not train these people anymore? They used to be amazing. Now they're grown adults that are worse than the worst teenage employee you can imagine. There is one lady in particular that I cannot stand. Lady all I want is two large oles and two sides of nacho cheese! Why do I have to say "Two large oles." *Pause, wait for her to ask if I want sides* "Yes. I want two sides of nacho." It's infuriating!!! If I did that at my fast food job I would be corrected and if that didn't work I'd be looking for a new job! What, are they afraid to discipline or fire people now? Not only that but something is ALWAYS wrong. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER. DO NOT BE KIND WHEN THEY MISS THINGS. This happens so often it's a wonder if they can even read their menu prompts. You can see them from the front counter. If I can read them so can they. I get it, mess ups happen, but not at that rate! I feel sorry for drive thru people. I've seen them have to turn around and come in through the front to get their orders fixed while waiting for mine in the lobby. We will be speaking to the owners directly about this. I would give this a 5 star if it was 2 years ago.the reasons for a 3 star?often over the last year in a half.this location and the other Missoula location struggled trying to keep help.the help they do have like last night when running the register should maybe wash their hands when grabbing for their cig lighter or having a itch under their clothing (from what I assume?)we are trying to get out of a pandemic and don't need to get into another one especially when doing food service.I observed this last night about 6:20-6;40 pm last night.also everyone should all be in agreement that either this place can use a coupon and a discounted offer off the chains app.or the chain isn't able to?really frustrating when the order taker tells me they can and the girl who ran the register told me they couldn't?if she is learning the register?I will give her that but,she seemed like she was not completely ready to run a drive thru and what I mentioned earlier in the post.I will wait awhile before coming back and see if improvements were made and maybe be able to rate higher. read more

Not a great taco Johns location. This is based on living nearby and repeated visits. Something is wrong every time we go in. Usually they get the order wrong, it's horrible quality, their fountain doesn't work, etc. The staff is friendly, but not always on the ball. The food that they do get right is usually ok if you want to risk it, but there are plenty of other options nearby. read more

Perhaps I have lived in CA to long and realized I can't have bad fast food Mexican food anymore. I still like the tator tots thingy's that they have. The food is great. When they get it right that is. The last several times we have visited this location (one of them being about 20 minutes ago), they have ignored any requests we have made. My roommate simply asks for no tomato and I ask for no sour cream. It would be such a bad thing if sour cream doesn't make me sick to my stomach.
