It's been a couple of weeks but hope to get back on a Tuesday. Those tacos are worth going for. Only thing I've tried so far but I wish they were near me. Clean restaurant, good service, & great tacos.

Stopped by for some rolled tacos. This place was pretty solid. They only have 1 option and its pork or beef (not sure) but theyre called the monster rolled tacos. But theyre topped with crema and guacamole on a bed of lettuce. Comes with a side of rice and refried beans. Those were pretty solid and tasty especially when combined with their salsa verde. The battered fish taco was pretty good too but the batter had some kind of seasoning which didnt add to the dish and made it taste a little different. I probably wouldnt get it again but it also wasnt bad. Overall, id come here again, id like to try their other items if im ever in the area again. The service was average and you get a free soda if you check in on yelp so that was cool.

    the quesadilla was the star!

Got an amazing taco and a quesadilla with sour cream. I took the quesadilla to go. They give ample cheese and the sour cream was generous too. I really like the open kitchen and the interior is very modern and clean. I will definitely be back to try different tacos they offer! Also, I recommend their house red salsa. It was amazing and I tasted garlic in it! One thing I was impressed with this they gave me a side of cilantro at no charge! Highly recommend Taco Lounge. There is easy street parking.

Side order of rice and beans for 2.99 each.

2.99 for a side order of rice and 2.99 for a side order of beans... you could eat both in one bite. Ordered a surf and turf burrito with no shrimp. Don't waste your time here, this is probably the worst taco shop I have been to. The food has no taste.

Fist time here. It was nice. The place is clean, and the customer service is good. The prices are a little high for tacos. Well for me. I believe they were 3.79 for a carne asada taco. The Asada is cooked well and has decent taste. The Al Pastor is pretty good. The Monster roll tacos were very good. One thing I really liked, was the red salsa. It had a little heat, but more on the flavor side. The green salsa, was to tangy for me. I will come back to try their Protein Bowl.

Taco Lounge is our favorite local taco shop! They serve high quality ingredients each and every time! The staff is kind, consistent & super efficient. My favorite is the grilled shrimp taco. They use fresh avocados & the best chipotle sauce! My daughter's favorite is the carne asada tacos (& occasionally carne asada fries). We also love the Birria taco (pictured) & consommé. We dine-in often and do take-out as well. Both dining options are great. Taco Lounge is clean & inviting. The staff sets you up with all of the necessary condiments. We appreciate everyone at Taco Lounge! Both locations! (Photo from Escaya location)

Stopped by this place on a weeknight and definitely enjoyed our meal! We tried a fish taco, chicken quesadilla, and pastor bowl. The fish taco was OK (tortilla was a bit hard), quesadilla was awesome, and pastor bowl was tasty. Portion sizes are fair and prices were reasonable. There are daily specials during the week too - I'll definitely be back!

The fish taco was bad... not crispy and tasted old fish
    Josie N.

Went here for late lunch and saw a few post on insta so decided to try it out. I got the fish tacos, birria, and asada while my bf got the fish tacos. The fish taco was pretty bad, it was freezer burned or something but tasted old and the batter was soggy and not cooked till crispy so that was a fail. The birria lacked flavor and the asada was way over cooked. The corn tortilla looks house made but it's just very thick and wasn't really sturdy. They plus side they do give a little bag of chips.

These are the small tacos. Carne asada tacos are good. The fish tacos are good. Recommend ordering for pick up.

Hello, we charge $12 per person but we currently have a promotion at $10 per person and that includes choosing your protein or a mix of proteins (carne asada, chicken or pork) and we will include chips, beans and rice. Limes and salsas are included…

Seating is something you have to fight for // get yourself, so during peak times it can be rough because a LOT of people will steal seats before even having their food, and then they will sit there for 30-40 minutes before even getting their food // eating (so that kind of sucks -- but thats not something the restaurant has ever handled, people just kind of suck in the big 2026, back when I went in 2016-2017 people were more respectful, but times have changed I guess)

I took my tacos to go so can't speak to the table service. However since I was traveling back to North County the tacos held up well, as I asked for all veggies and salsa on the side. The to go service is easy there is a small register by the kitchen where someone takes your order. Ordered the al pastor and asada tacos. My favorite was the asada, the meat was tender and perfectly cooked and you get a decent amount of meat inside each taco. Once the veggies and salsa were added, they were oh so good. The al pastor thought the meat was dry almost like it had been sitting under the heat lamp or grill for too long. Overall good experience and good tacos. Will need to be back to other options and their dine in experience. I tried their green and red spicy salsa and both had a good kick. Minus 1 start due to their parking lot, it's so narrow and always busy, so you either need to wait until someone leaves and then maneuver your car back and forth several times to attempt to park.

Sometimes, there are nights when only tacos can fix me. It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."

The highlight of the menu is the Keka Taco. It is incredibly delicious, loaded with flavor, and so filling that it can easily satisfy even the biggest appetite. The only downside to this establishment is the limited parking, which can make picking up your order a bit challenging during busy times. At first I gave them a great review & last time not so great due to prices & portions. Well now over the years their prices are better than other taco shops & portions have gotten bigger. Their carne asada is one of the best in SD, so juicy & soft I love it, their Birria taco is good too but I prefer their order of Birria or broth & their Adobada is ok just a bit too marinated for me. They also have burritos, tortas & Mullitas & I recommend the Carne Asada form in those because I believe they have one of the best Carne Asada meats in SD. The customer service is really good, cooks are cool & fast & the girls on the register are really nice & the place is always clean.
