Great food-fresh and nice flavors, friendly staff, wait times at the drive thru are understandable, my only complaint- food is too pricey.

Made a mistake on our pickup order through grub hub and they made it right ASAP. Was initially upset, but they made it right.

Let me just start by saying this is my favorite taco place around. I have not had anything that is not delicious! My go to is the steak tacos. everything is fresh and the highest quality ingredients. The staff there is super friendly. We go at least twice a week. Love love love! read more

We ordered Friday night delivery again from Taco Madre, and as promised, I tried the Taco Madre combo that features grilled skirt steak and a chile relleño, as well as a couple of American style ground beef tacos, an Al Pastor burrito and another grilled chicken salad. The combo was fantastic, grilled steak so succulent and the chile was perfect. Some of each on a soft corn tortilla and I was in heaven again. Everything was wonderful. Ok,so when this place first opened,I went there a few times per week.food was amazing.no fat on the meat,cooked well, and good service.this lasted at least 6 months.now,the place has changed and I'm not sure why. The meat quality has drastically dropped.the last 4 times I ate there,I threw most of the food away due to it not tasting good.The tamales dont taste the same as they did,the carnitas dont either. And the meat has become fatty and not cooked well.even the chips and cheese has changed. Taco Madre has a small taco stand feel with a modern twist. The restaurant itself is very clean and they also have outdoor seating for he warmer days. Just a heads up, this place is in a small strip of 3-4 stores and restaurants. It's not really surrounded by many other stores and it's a small so you might miss it if you are driving by. The employees are friendly and helpful. When you sit down you are treated to chips and salsa. The presentation of the food is amazing, especially for a Mexican restaurant that has a bit of a modern hole in the wall feel. The food was a bit of a hit and a miss for me. For example, you can definitely tell that they are using fresh ingredients but the flavor wasn't there for me. I ordered a pastor burrito and the pastor was a bit bland. It was not bad by any manner and again the ingredients were fresh, but it didn't have the "spicey" touch I was looking for. My girlfriend ordered chicken enchiladas and the chicken inside were cut into cubes rather than shredded. While she thought the mole they used tasted great, the cubed chicken made for an off-putting enchilada, especially when you are so used to it being shredded. The refried beans were also a bit bland and could have used a bit more salt, which I know we can just add to it. The atmosphere, cleanliness and staff definitely have a 4 star rating, but as fresh as the food may taste it lacked an authentic Mexican taste. As I stated earlier it was in no way bad it was merely average (3 stars). It's still a place I would like to revisit and try some other meals. This Taco Madre has a DRIVE-THRU! As if tacos in Aurora weren't accessible enough, now there's a taco spot with a drive-thru. I'm a fan of the original location in Montgomery, and the North Aurora location is a little bit closer to home. Personally, I like the pastor here, which is much sweeter than what you'll get at places like Jalisco or Tacqueria Tio. My friend had the "chilango" taco, with chorizo and steak, and said it was fantastic. Another perk at Taco Madre is that their menu extends beyond the standard steak, chicken, or pork. The last thing I had here was the chimichanga with chicken. The chimichanga was smothered with a thick, queso blanco sauce. It's so good I mopped up every last drop of it! I had the dinner, which came with beans and rice, and another one of my favorite things about Taco Madre is that they have black beans. No me gusta refried beans. Black beans are where it's at! They're served in a mini tostada bowl too. Of course, there's horchata, and it's free refills. Chips and salsa are complimentary when you dine in. The salsa is warm, which I love, and has a slightly smoky flavor. You get green and red sauce at the table, and I douse practically everything in the green sauce. The restaurant is very clean, and the employees are friendly. It's definitely popular in the neighborhood, a woman at the next table told someone they go there once a week. I went to Montgomery location Friday for a late dinner after arriving at daughter for the weekend. 2 Maki and a callingua taco were excellent. Then today after church the 4 of us went To Aurora. Service was fantastic and friendly. Salsa, 3 flavors was excellent. Had heuvos rancheros which were excellent and everyone else enjoyed their meal. Good fresh food. You can't go wrong here. Just opened and so glad they did. Taqeurias close to my home are "ok" but Taco Madre so far is elevating that to my new addiction. Steak Burrito has a premium steak option and the meat is pretty good. Al pastor tacos are very good as well ... Dress them up both styles (you'll see when you try it out)...and I very much recommend you do! Has basic but sufficient seating, a drive thru (a plus) and some outdoor seating as well. Stopped by here last weekend after a long day of day of errands with my toddler. I was exhausted, my toddler was cranky and we were both starving! We walked in and were greeted immediately. Taco Madre used to be great - generous portions for the prices, good presentation, fresh, tasty food. I stopped by yesterday with someone to eat in and our tacos were noticeably smaller from past visits. There was no line in the drive thru and only 2 people dining inside, so they weren't exactly busy. I ordered one shrimp taco and one Chilango taco (steak and chorizo), and noticed I basically paid $4 for a taco with a small scoop of meat and a sprinkle of cilantro, and a taco with two baby shrimp, a sliver of avocado, and a pile of lettuce with a smear of chipotle sauce. We let the cashier and food runner know and they literally shrugged and said they can't do anything about it. I understand they aren't preparing the food but the lack of consistency and portioning as well as evident dismal customer service training is enough to make me choose somewhere else in the future.
