However, I was delightfully surprised at every aspect of Taco Madre. * FOOD: We had tortas (steak), enchiladas (veggie), fried ice cream, margaritas, and Lagunitas. DELICIOUS. One usually doesn't say this about Mexican food, but it was plated in an aesthetically-pleasing way. The textures were complementary and the flavors were bold. * SERVICE: Everyone was SMILING!! I'm a happy person, and eating makes me happier. The staff here was attentive, professional, and courteous. * ATMOSPHERE: There was an energy in the restaurant that started with the staff. All I have to say is WOW!! We got a little walk through of how the ordering works and some of the staffs favorites. My wife and I each got 3 tacos off the gourmet taco menu. I couldn't pick which taco was my favorite because they were all so good. After we devoured all of our tacos we had to try a chimichanga, and it didn't disappoint. The staff was great, the food was delicious and it's now a family favorite. We love seeing great new restaurants popping up in the Geneva area. The restaurant has ample seating inside and has outdoor seating as well so finding seats wouldn't seem to be a problem. A lot of people use the drive thru as it was pretty busy. They have a pretty good menu selection and have a bunch of Mexican type of soft drinks plus my favorite Horchata. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, chicken burrito and chicken fajita for the 3 of us. I've eaten a lot of burritos but I liked how it was cooked slightly differently in the sense that the whole burrito was seared a little more than normal and I liked the different texture. The quesadilla had a lot more cheese and chicken than normal which was good since my daughter loves both. The fajitas were well presented in the searing pan. My favorite was the dessert as we got the fried ice cream. It was more than enough for the 3 of us and was so tasty. My dad raved out about this place so the boyfriend and I decided to check it out. Very pleased (: it's small inside, but with the weather warming up their outside seating will be an awesome add on. While to food itself is good the people working there are complete ditzes. The girl taking my order was making up food items that I didn't ask for and even though she ready back my order we still got the incorrect toppings on our tacos. My new favorite Mexican Restaurant! The tacos are amazing!! My favorites are the Mexican Style steak taco and the chili rellenos taco. Both to die for. And the carnitas quesadilla was EVERYTHING! The quesadillas are crammed with cheese and I love cheese. It is a huge huge quesadilla. I ordered mine with chicken, came with rice, and a complimentary chips and salsa. The chips and salsa come warm and are homemade! Homemade salsa is packed with flavor, a must try if you've never had. Each order they give you red hot sauce or green sauce. My personal favorite is the green. It's light and zingy and fresh tasting. The red is deep noted and has more heat. I will continue coming back because.... The tacos are just fantastic! Meh. Perhaps my expectations were too high based on reviews read here and from friends who go often. Love, love tacos, you can never get enough right? Mahi taco was a highlight, also had barbacoa which was waaayyyyy too salty, and chicken tinga was just ok. Hubby had burrito bowl and thought it was alright, son had Mayan which was a highlight. Personally thought prices were high for what you get and was slightly frustrated that we were not told the speciality tacos were priced higher. Guess my first clue should have been that they were the only things on the menu board which didn't have a price. When asked by the staff how about experience I was honest and they were sorry and that was it. Not horrible but will not be on our regular taco stop any time soon. read more

My girlfriend and I have loved everything we have gotten here. It's refreshing to go to a nice Mexican place and get a nice size dinner for 2 for under $20. The chilango tacos here are fantastic. We used to go here quite a bit. Went in tonight about 6:30p and noticed the place was empty (unusual) and their menu had changed. The employee mentioned it had changed about six months ago. Well, unfortunately, that isn't the only thing that changed. Super disappointed. The food flavor quality was not even close to what it had been. The portions have gone down quite a bit and the prices went up. Lastly, the restaurant carries an overall lack of cleanliness. The floor was sticky, didn't look like it had been swept in a while, and tables and chairs were just unclean. The guy asked me to wait so I waited...and waited....and waited. Over ten minutes I waited. As I pulled forward a little more I must of reminded him I was waiting there.
