My husband didn't get any meat in his barbacoa until a third of the way in. All rice and beans and didn't taste so good. This place is pretty small and has limited parking. Their chips and salsa is pretty good as well as their cheese dip. They have a salsa bar where you can get different types of heat and flavor if you aren't thrilled with their normal stuff. The food here is a bit pricey for the quality and portion size. It's not a bad place at all and the service is decent and people are friendly....it's just that I would only use it as a backup if Los Rios was too crowded and I didn't want to wait. read more

So glad we saw the other reviews on this place. We stopped for lunch and will be back soon. Lunch specials are a bargain at $5-7. We tried the chicken tacos, chicken taquitos and a beef burritos. All were great. Taquitos were full if meat, perfectly fried, topped with fresh avocado, pico, queso fresco, etc. Beef in burrito was well marinated, not fatty at all. Delicious chips. Great salsa. The waitress is good and paid attention even replacing my nacho supply when it started running low. I ordered 2 tacos, one with roasted pork and other with some other kind of pork. It was just... ok because the pork was really dry. If they made it dryer they can just call it pork jerky tacos. But still it was good enough for me to wolf it down. I also ordered a mexican sandwich, which was definitely an interesting experience. For the adventurous foodies get this item! The taste is definitely different but it was wasn't a wow sandwich. Fantastic! This place is an absolute hidden gem. 5 stars for the food, service and prices. The food is authenticate as you want it to be but offers the usual fair for those that like what most Americans are used to. We decided to give it a try today since we were sick of the over priced and less than spectacular places around town. Try the salsa bar for several different types that will blow you away. The funny thing is...my wife was hesitant and now she wants to make it our lunch place every Saturday with the kids. The fries are unbelievable and better than any place we have eaten before. The food, once again, was great. I'm actually writing a review on their Margaritas this time. They have a Corona Margarita that is terrific. Miniature bottle of corona turned upside down in the margarita so it mixes slowly. Great drink & kind of a novelty that makes it fun. Tried the Burrito Mexicano (steak) and it was simple but good. So, this review will be a little weird because I'm going to talk about some things that weren't very good at all but still give 4 stars. First, the interior is really lacking and looks like it was thrown together in about 24 hours so don't look for great ambiance. We received chips and salsa and the chips were really stale. We told the waitress and she brought us some more stale chips that I think were heated in the microwave, lol. We decided to let this go and just plow ahead. I love a good chimichanga so I ordered the shredded chicken and it was awesome! Very flavorful, had peppers and some spice, loved it! My wife ordered tacos and they were authentic, double corn tortilla with cilantro and onion (no cheese.) The tacos were nothing special but still good. One of the most redeeming qualities of this place is a self-serve salsa bar! Don't pass this part up because the salsas are spicy, delicious and some of them have a real kick. I appreciate this because most restaurant food assumes you can't handle the heat, well not here. Anyway, I might be a little generous with four stars but this is a good little hole in the wall that is bringing some flavor. My family has eaten here at least once a week for the last year and a half. We will not not be going back after the awful service and attitude we experienced last Friday night. The waitress was rude and condescending. I was afraid to eat my replace entree (the original was incorrect) for fear it was messed with in the kitchen. She and the busboy were laughing at our table as she threw the food on the table. To make is worse, she didn't even use a plate - just tossed the tin foiled tacos on the bare table. I have never written a bad review before, but I left Taco Mexico in disgust. I spoke with the manager/owner, who wouldn't even look me in the eye. He is always on site and seems to be very invested in the restaurant. I hope he improves his staffing! read more

The gentlemen with the glasses is great when hes there. but the older woman is quite rude. She is terrible with customer service. She tries to add an extra dollar to the prices on the menu. Normally we love this place, but have noticed it going down hill after our last couple visits. After tonight we will not be going back. We had a party of 5 and ordered sweet tea. I'm not picky about tea but this tasted at least a day old. We asked for just water instead. Then we ordered cheese and bean dip as an appetizer which they forgot about. The waitress never checked on us either. When they brought the food out we asked about the dip and they brought us cheese dip only. I would expect once you forget and order and then bring out the incorrect one late and we have to wait to get you to the table since you don't check in you could comp a cheese dip to bring the correct one. The waitress said she would double charge us if she didn't take the cheese dip we ate out of while waiting on her back to the kitchen so she could dump the beans in it. That is a health violtion. After all that, our check was rung up incorrectly. At that point we didn't want to argue and just leave. The food tastes fine but the service is awful. read more

Once we received our food, the waitress never came back to check on us except after we'd finished and our drinks had been empty. She came up to us and said can I get you another drink. Um, no. Just a check at this point. We ordered Texas fajitas and they were charred. We will never go back again. Cheese dip was good, but ordered with jalapenos and there were no jalapenos in it. read more

It is an intimate place and was our first visit, we were looking for an early dinner. We ordered queso chorizo appetizer and it was out of this world! My husband ordered the shrimp taco's and whatever the sauce was that is on them is outstanding. He loved them, however, there were several shrimp that had remnants of shell--not a deal breaker, just annoying. My daughter got the beef chimichanga's. Again, excellent. She especially liked the rice. I ordered fajitas - I forget what they call it, but I got everything....chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo and pork!! WOW!! The pork was so tender and seasoned so well!! Everything was great too, but again, the shrimp has the shell ( a lot of places do this with fajitas, so I'm not sure if it's just my preference to have the shells off and the food ready to consume) and, they use really small shrimp, but it kinda makes it easier to fold them into the tortilla. All and all an excellent meal.....oh, and our bill was only $40!!!! Not to bad for dinner for 3! Definitely worth checking it out. I know we'll be back. read more

I love, love, love this place!!! I have eaten and worked at many Mexican restaurants. I am so happy to live so close to this restaurant. This place has everything you could want in a restaurant. It is clean, cute and cozy. It is family owned and operated. The food is fantastic. It is consistently fresh and delicious. It is clear to me that the person making the food cooks from the soul!!! I have come to eat here at least 3 times a week. My 3 kids, who usually try to talk me into taking them through a fast-food drive-thru are excited to go to TACO MEXICO. The staff is extremely friendly and professional. The kids love the chicken quesadillas and wrap burritos. The grown ups love the chicken soup ( a MUST if you are feeling under the weather - my substitute for grandma's), tlalpeno soup, tacos de carne asado, mole, black bean soup.
