This place hang up on me when I was trying to order some food and now I'm starving and never come HERE

The food was great. It was delicious. I was picking my fingers and everything. But..I had to relieve myself. I went to the Women's Restroom and almost vomited. It smelled like the Outhouse from Hell. We've been coming here for several years and I can tell you this place is outstanding!! The portions are huge and the prices are fantastic. We usually order the steak quesadilla and burrito; the steak is amazing (no grizzle) as well as the guac and chips. The shrimp and chile rellenos are delicious! The staff is friendly, the restaurant and kitchen are very clean and they're super quick even if there's a long line. It's no wonder why they've been in business all these years! read more

The sign says "wow 35 years in business there must be a reason." There is. Fresh delicious food made quickly. The parking lot can be crowded but the orders are completed so quickly that people git and go. Very neighborhoody in the very best way. The tamales are okay, if there was no Tamales Norma I'd rate them higher-- but the chile relleno taco is outstanding. I could eat them non-stop until passing out. How good? I come here often for their burritos only . Probably the biggest and best chicken and pork burritos. Frequently I go home and put half in the refrigerator for the next day or I split it. It is not the most expensive but good or better than the expensive one. Call ahead or just stop in . Call ahead and it will be ready, stop in and they are quick. Very clean, you can see the gril. Think a few times they recognized me, the burrito was a bit bigger. Yes I tip but also I am pleasant and polite. And they return the respect. And that atmosphere makes the food taste even better. Try it out. I can't believe it isn't rated higher. Maybe if I was Hispanic and knew burritos better but I am Irish decent and I think they are great. read more

I'm usually not the one to leave bad reviews unless it's absolutely necessary. Having said that, I ordered a chicken taco dinner my first time visiting this place. As I'm eating, I'm taking hair out of my mouth from two of the three tacos. Needless to say, ridiculously disgusting. I wish I could give them zero stars because why is this a thing. I'll never go back. Hygiene is of the utmost importance, so please consider that when you visit this low rate place. And the tacos are mediocre. This is a long time hood favorite. Not my hood favorite, but alot of other people love it, lol. Serving authentic Mexican food since I was a kid, same location, same workers, same ok food. I've had a few things from here, steak tacos, steak burrito, taco salads. The downer for me about this restaurant is the grade of steak meat they use, it's definitely not grade A, it's a B, a very low B. But they're very nice and friendly and they get their customers in & out. 20yrs ago I dined in more frequently. I was out in the area and my daughter wanted steak tacos as usual, so we stopped in. She said she enjoyed them. I had 2 and they were ok, just ok, due to the meat. Toppings were nice & they were fresh. Pretty decent taco joint, to say the least. I was craving tacos and needed it quick, as I had things to do and people to see! After all, it was a Friday night! The service is really quick, and I had my taco dinner in a jiffy. I ordered the 2 steak taco dinner which came with a side of refried beans, and rice. The sides were actually really good as they were seasoned perfectly with cheese!! Who doesn't love shredded and melted queso??? The steak tacos were ok. I wasn't really feeling the "boiled" style on the steak. I prefer my steak tacos sauteed/grilled so it has that crispy on the outside yet tender on the inside type of texture. The tortilla was also flimsy - I like mine fried a little. The atmosphere was casual, lots of tables available to dine in. Good chorizo tacos. My favorite used to be steak but since they changed out the tortillas, they lack seasoning and the tortilla flavor over powers the filling. They taste like El Milagro tortillas. Need to go back to other tortillas. The horchata is very good as well as the green hot sauce which has a kick to it. They also carry Mexican bottled sodas. Ordered the Guac and chips. The Guac was just ok, needed salt and lime. Tortilla chips were fresh. Not sure if they make them there. This place is always busy but it's good for what's available in the area and they're open late. read more

At first glance, I didn't think of coming here to eat but my mom had to go to the bathroom and the bathroom smelled amazing and it was stocked and cleaned! When ordering our food, I asked the man behind the register if the fish tacos were any good and he said they were decent but I've had my fair share of gross fish tacos and let me tell you - they were amazing!! I order 2 more like chorizo and steak but was given ground beef instead and all 3 tacos were packed and topped with freshly cut cilantro! Was not disappointed! This place isn't half bad. They are open very late during the week around midnight if you don't want typical fast food from Wendy's. The service is very quick and the food served hot. I had the chicken Taco salad which was very well made. It has chicken, black beans, corn, green pepper, cheese, onions, and a sauce which tasted like a combination of sour cream, mild sauce, and buffalo sauce. They then put shredded corn ships. Very satisfied with the meal just felt like there was too much sauce. My friend got the taco dinner and said it's good. There are some good food places around Bellwood and I feel that many of the places don't get the recognition because of the area. I will be back. read more

Unfortunately I cannot give this place less than one star, because that is what it deserved. Walked in to order, smelled nothing. Chalked it up to possible, recent COVID exposure. Ordered 3 ground beef taco dinner, a tostada and a hard shell pork taco. Drove 2 miles. So disappointing! The meat has not been hot today. Ground beef was mushy - no stiffness to it. Tortillas are tasteless. I thought I should eat 1 taco in order to give it a fair shot. I felt like I was rolling the dice with my health. It's a taco, and they messed that up. I usually dip my chips with the beans, but the beans were also tasteless and had a layer of cheese covering them. The guacamole had a suspicious sheen to it so didn't even attempt to taste it. I love Mexican food and so it was more offensive that this crap would be passed off as food. No pride, such a misrepresentation- never again! Avoid this place at all costs. I ordered The Daily Special #1 - 2 Taco Lunch Special which consisted of 2 steak tacos with cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes, beans, rice, and a small horchata. The steak for the tacos was very tender. I grew up only a few blocks from this restaurant, so this was THE place to go for Mexican food. Of course, now that I am able to go a further distance with my car rather than my bike, I've explored other Mexican restaurants. However, my love for Taco Patio remains. They've always been the place to go for some good, cheap food anytime. I definitely recommend the tacos and enchiladas as my favorites, but I've never had one bad thing yet. Went there for lunch last week and I absolutely enjoyed this place. The tacos were $2.45 each but it was worth it. They also prepare your order quick. I think I only had to wait no more than a minute for my 2 tacos. They prepare your food in almost like a Jimmy John speed and I think they may be quicker than many of the taco bell's that I've went to. Loved the place. Just wish they had a taco Tuesday/Wednesday. read more

The food is okay here. If I want authentic Mexican then I would go somewhere else. I like the fries but the tacos themselves are not good. They use a shredded cheese blend like the bagged kind you get at the grocery store. Their tacos do not taste good reheated. Family member suggested I give them a try saying they have really good tacos. Placed my order for 2 steak tacos w/everything and fries. Ate the first steak taco which was decent made an attempt to eat the second one which had little fat and didn't taste right. During the course of the night felt nauseous and had slight discomfort.
