Originally tried going to the Los Burritos on Villa Park for taco Tuesday and was told they were out of tacos?? Ended up settling for this Los Burritos and phoned in an order. Over the phone I asked to pay separately and when we came in (only 4-5 minutes later) we were told we couldn't. We couldn't split the food or the check. Everything was given together... After finally getting our food we were told we could not sit inside although the restaurant was still open for another 20 minutes. When we then got home... we realized we were missing 8 tacos. I went to Los Burritos Tapatios 08/12/17 for lunch. It's located on Roosevelt just west of Midwest in Lombard. I'm not sure why I ordered a burrito because they tend to be too much food, but I did and it was. The steak burrito came with beans and rice as is standard fare with Mexican food when you order the meal option. I should have just gotten the steak burrito as they were a generous size and the Burrito would have been more generous enough. In addition this came w/chips and salsa which was ok. To me the food was average in flavor in spite of the generous portion size of the burrito. There are so many Mexican restaurants in Chicago and Chicagoland & there really wasn't anything to differentiate this from another. read more

The girl who recommended Los Burritos specifically recommended their nachos so that is what I ordered. When I sat down I was first served some chips and mild salsa, plus some water. My actual order of nachos was then brought to me. I did have to return to the counter to ask for my Diet Coke. The order of nachos was definitely big enough for at least two people. Thought it was interesting that the tomato on the nachos was actually SLICED tomatoes and not pico de Gallo. The cheese was also not NACHO CHEESE. Looked more like provolone. There was a steady stream of customers and I could see multiple to-go orders being prepared as I sat there. Also, most of the other patrons were Hispanic, so clearly this place has a following. The people taking orders are VERY easy going and nice. The cooks are fast AF. And the food is phenomenal! I've been using uber eats since this shitshow started and I couldn't figure out how to order extra sour cream for quite some time. Every time I called and asked they just gave me more and tried to explain it to me. Above and beyond. Also. This is the only place in the area who knows what a chimichanga really is. Los Burritos Tapatios is a small for a sit down "restaurant" but don't let that stop you from going there. I don't eat meat, however they had plenty of options on the menu that I could choose from which is always a plus! I ordered a burrito, I guess you can call it a vegetarian burrito, they just replaced the meat with beans. I'm not a huge fan of refried beans so I may opt out of that next time but the burrito was huge and it wasn't bad. The burrito tasted ok and the service was memorable. Memorable in a good way, the service is the main thing that would keep me going back. The young lady who served us did an amazing job and was very attentive. We ordered staff lunch via Door Dash and did not have a positive experience with our meals or the delivery. The meal was 30 minutes late and we had to call to inquire as this was a special order for a colleague and we only have 45 minutes for lunch. My veggie burrito "zuizo" was supposed to come with cheese baked on top- no cheese, but otherwise was plain but good. My colleagues said their meals were "ok" but one ordered a chicken burrito which came as a small chicken taco. Another ordered two things, but only received one. Inexplicably, we received two large sodas that we didn't order, but the taste was off. It didn't taste like Coke, I dumped it out. We rushed to eat as the meal came so late, which we understand is partially the fault of Door Dash. But getting the order wrong falls to the restaurant, I believe. Unless Door Dash messed that up, too. So I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2. read more

I've been here a handful of times and their menu is fantastic (been through alot of Hispanic authentic including food trucks), the burrito is so good, and so are the fajitas. The pitfalls of having an early lunch (10:10-11:00) mean that if I DON'T plan ahead and brown bag one, my options are limited. Luckily Los Burritos Tapatios opens early for desayuno, so an early lunch is no prob! Today was my first visit. I ordered the Lengua Burrito ($6.29) To Go with everything (beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato). Guac or sour cream are .50 extra. At 10:30a, there was one occupied table of 2 and one other Take Out order, so it was very slow. Despite this, there were several unbussed/dirty tables. Blech. My order arrived quickly and I was offered salsa. They included utensils and napkins. (Gracias!) The weight of my To Go bag was impressive! The burrito itself was about 1/2 meat (again, impressive!) and 1/2 of the other stuff. It wasn't soggy like some places, even as leftovers. The lengua was tender but wasn't as trimmed as I'd have liked, so in the future I'd probably skip it in favor of another meat. The mild salsa had more of a kick than I'd have thought. Duly noted. Service was quick and the price was right. I may have just found my Reliable Early Lunch Place that isn't Taco Bell. :) read more

This little place has become my go-to local source for awesome burritos (a crucial commodity in my world!) The food is delicious and authentic and the service is quick and attentive. I always order my burrito with everything, add onion, add extra extra extra cilantro. This is one of the few places that understands what "extra extra extra cilantro" truly means! They've messed up my order a couple times (this happens to me everywhere!) but they've more than made up for their mistakes by offering a replacement meal & then some...even when I could not return for a few days. For our first visit, everything was fine in the beginning, we ordered our tacos and sat down. We noticed that the other tables were receiving complementary chips and salsa. We asked her (the cashier) about it and she responded in a rude ass voice, "you have to buy it." I am pretty sure we don't. We then asked a different staff member and he was nice enough to offer us the chips and salsa. However, the lady happened to see it and she came to our table and took it away. How rude is that. For our second visit, It was a Friday night so the restaurant opens till 3-4 in the morning. However, that was not the case for us. We arrived around 1:45 A.M. We ordered our food and about to sit down, when she came up to us and told us to leave since the place is closing. Excuse me lady, the store hours says 4 A.M. On top of that, there were 4-5 other groups of people still sitting down and eating. OMG, so upset with the service of this place. Whether it's after a night out with friends, or a long day at the library during finals week, this place is definitely the best place in the area for those late night cravings for authentic, Mexican food. And you know it's pretty authentic when they give you free chips and salsa. I suggest getting tacos or a burrito suizo (gigantic burrito with cheese on it). The tamales aren't bad either. This is now my favorite Mexican restaurant around. Now I even go when I'm sober! haha This is one of the few restaurants, actually the only one around here, that has cecina. I love that meat, its just salty dried meat. Throw some of those tacos on the grill, top them with cilantro, cebolla and lime and I'm good to go. My friends like their chile relleno tacos and tripitas doradas tacos. The tripitas have to be nice and crispy, otherwise, I guess they're not as good. I wouldn't know because I'm not into all that but I wouldn't mind trying the chile relleno taco, it looks pretty good. In case you didn't know, chile relleno is a stuffed poblano pepper (usually stuffed with cheese and deep fried in a batter) and tripitas are the small intestines of farm animals. Doesn't that sound so good? (sarcasm) Regardless, my friends love them here and if you're into that, you should try them. I'll stick with my carne asada and cecina tacos. The service hasn't changed much. I think it's just me though. It gets annoying but I can tolerate it because, you know, TACOS. ;) read more

This place is a solid choice for any time of day all the way through the wee hours. The food is consistently tasty and generous, and the prices are very reasonable. Chips and salsa upon arrival, which is a must in my book. The salsa is delicious, but a little on the spicy side for my liking. This usually leads to me drinking a few tall glasses of water during my visit. This is a great place to stop after a few drinks at Overtime Bar down the strip or a full out dinner. The one thing that I like about the taco dinner was the natural flavor in the food, truly authentic Mexican food. I was not sure what to expect, but aww man! I'm talking about DIVE restaurant with fantastic food. I ordered the burrito suizo with chicken, my friend ordered the carne asada, and we ordered the stuffed pepper (I think). Everything was fantastic! Right down to the chips that are just hanging around and salsa. My burrito was the size of my head and yet I still thought I could finish it in one sitting. I enjoyed it soo much, I decided to take it to go. I know its risky to reheat a burrito, but you know food is good when it tastes just as good on day 2 as it did on day 1. The food is good. Meat is seasoned well, prices are reasonable. However, the customer service is awful. Since COVID-19 epidemic, the service has been going down hill more than ever. I have been eating here since high school (early 2000s) but had to stop because the staff is insufferable (not honoring your order- giving you something different and telling you its your fault, not wearing mask correctly, handling phone calls when the line is out the door, not cleaning quickly, having staff staring at the TV when the place is full). I started going back in 2015 and it seemed to get better, but it's back to being garbage service again. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. THE EMPLOYEES WILL STEAL FROM YOU. I am a server and I had made $400 after my 16 hour shift that day, and me and my coworker went to eat here after work. We were the last two people in the building beside the employees. I left my wallet there accidentally and I called the next morning and they said they had it. When I came in to pick up my wallet, my wallet was completely empty. I told the girl at the counter what happened and she told me "i don't know what to tell you, I wasn't working" and started talking to someone else. Extremely rude and dismissive.
