Burrito combo was ok, but not exceptional. Rice was dry. Liked both the red and green sauces. Good deal with BOGO burrito combos on Uber Eats, but had to wait quite a while picking up. Nobody mans the counter, so you're screwed if you walk in. Nice little outside area to eat if the weather is right. read more

it was essentially a tortilla with rice and little lettuce and tomato. I do not eat meat so I asked for a bean burrito. There were no beans. very little avocado. I told the person taking my order light on the rice. I asked him what all goes into their burrito and he named beans. But no beans among other things. It was not good. I won't be back. . read more

Being a vegetarian finding good tacos which I would like to come back again and again is difficult until I tried veggie taco from Taco Pros, I just love it. It has the perfect balance of veggies, cheese, rice topped with avocado slice. The serrano sauce is so yum, I always top extra on the taco and enjoy it. The staff is friendly and polite. I mostly dine outside as it feels bit cramped and too much movement dining inside. But definitely recommend this for anyone looking to find some comfort veggie tacos. read more

I got the pastor (pork) tacos combo. The meal comes with 3 tacos and rice & beans (you can also choose fries & a soda instead) for around $13 including tax. You can choose 1 of 2 styles for the tacos: American which is lettuce and tomatoes or Mexican which is onions and cilantro. I got onions and cilantro. I thought the tacos were pretty good and the meat had really good flavor! The rice was a little dry imo and the beans weren't super flavorful, but it was still alright. Decent tacos. Corn tortillas seemed fresh, but everything was just middle of the road in terms of flavor punch. Most importantly, it's time to up the game with the salsa. The supplied avocado and taquera (it was red, I'm assuming it's taquera?) salsas were lackluster and bland. I'd recommend a good salsa verde and roja - even a verde. It will put you guys over the top. Steak burrito was okay, but badly needed more flavor. If that extra flavor needs to come from the salsa, we're in trouble. read more

DO NOT ORDER THE ENCHILADAS! They were the worst thing I have ever tried! The tortillas tasted like they were wet and sitting out, the taste of a wet rag is the first thing that came to mind with this flavor. Lucky for me I ordered the rice and bean in a separate container as this was all I was able to eat during my lunch hour. I've tried ordering from this place on a few occasions, hoping the next thing will be good. The only decent thing on the menu is the steak taco. The barbacoa literally tastes like dog food. The chicken is rubbery, and grisly. The salsas are bland. Don't get me started on the rice and beans. They taste like canned beans, and the most bland Mexican rice I've ever tasted. Recently, I was on the hunt for Mexican food for lunch. I have seen the sign for Taco Bros many times driving up and down on Chicago Ave, and decided now was the time to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was bit disappointed. It's not bad it's just completely average. The main point is that the food was just ok. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that great either. I ordered the steak enchiladas dinner. The enchiladas came with refried beans, rice, lettuce, tomatoes and avocado. The main issue is that the food was bland. From the rice and beans to the enchiladas themselves there just wasn't a lot of taste. To be clear, there were a few bright points. The staff was friendly and ordering was easy. The service was fast. Soon after I ordered, I received chips and salsa pretty quickly. Also the chips and salsa were crispy and had plenty of taste. They were topped with some tajine. I think this was a nice touch. Tortas are my go to and I was excited to try the house special Barbacoa since I though the style of meat would taste good in a sandwich. I was right on the taste but the juiciness of the meat made the bread soggy. The sandwich was messy which I didn't enjoy. This was a very "okay" meal. They have 3 different types of cheese - queso Fresca, shredded, and nacho. The only one you can order as a side is nacho cheese (like good concession stand nacho cheese) which is strange for a taco shop. The French Fry nachos are made with seasoned fries which was a little strange with the traditional nacho toppings. As far as food..nothing was gross, but nothing was great either. I will say my friends both loved the horchata! Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone traveling through but if you're around and super hungry, it's fine food. read more

Glad I tried out this new place as a newbie to west town. I tried the veggie burrito and it was decent. I would say probably it has all the right ingredients and all. Just needed a bit more flavor - maybe in the beans. Maybe a bit more cheese and / or sour cream and less rice. I will try to adjust that when I order next time. read more

Ok guys. Let me tell you how this went. I give it five stars because it was delicious. I went in thinking about getting a taco, but I quickly changed my mind. What happened, you might ask? Let me tell you. I saw they had something called Mexican French Fries Supreme. So I got that. I asked the guy how big is it? He used his hands to demonstrate that this item, which is on the appetizers side of the menu, is quite large. He was right. It came out. And it was big. We're taking fries with all sorts of toppings. Like nachos, but fries. Delicious. I didn't eat it all because I'm trying to live a healthy lifestyle. But I ate most of it. I'm not trying to be gross. As I told my girlfriend, "had they offered me a free t shirt, I would have eaten the whole thing." She had steak tacos, and ate them all. It sucks to do this but I have to. I ordered on google / doordash for pickup, I was charged, I show up and they have no idea what order Im talking about, its not in their system, I have the email but they seem clueless. Okay. I tell them I'll request a refund with my bank and order in person...I order in person, request refund with my bank, then my bank says that when they reached out to taco bros they told them it was a valid charge and not to refund it lol, nice. How is it valid if it was not even in their system? Do they not have an inventory of orders made they could contrast to the order in question? Like, $ amount, time placed, items ordered etc...Not cool! Food was okay. I will be objective, was not amazing, was not bad, was decent...but this double charge on a $50 order is just terrible customer service when it was obviously supposed to be refunded. I would give zero stars if I could for poor customer service and lack of self-accountability. Placed a DoorDash order today and one order of 3 steak tacos was missing. Contacted the restaurant directly, which rudely insisted the order was present. It was not: we inventoried the delivery bag contents multiple times against the receipt. We ended up contacting DoorDash directly which gave us a refund. Perhaps the in-restaurant experience is awesome, but the delivery experience was terrible. I will not patronize this business again. unfortunately, I will not be ordering from taco pros anymore. I've only been there twice and each time was a disappointment, last night I ordered the supreme nachos and I basically paid for a bunch of chips a half a teaspoon of refried beans about a tablespoon of tomatoes, a tablespoon of cheese, and a bunch of lettuce and a tiny amount of guacamole. I could not believe what was sitting there in front of me. It was nothing. A bird wouldn't have been filled up on this. I'll start by saying that I moved to Chicago from San Diego. Every time I go back to San Diego to visit family, I order carne asada fries. I will admit, that since moving to Chicago, I haven't really dug my heels in to find an equivalent. Taco Bros. showed up on my IG feed one day, so I decided to check their menu, and lo and behold, I noticed they had Mexican fries. Well, heck! Let's give this a try. As soon as I opened the box and took a whiff of the fries, I sort of felt like I was in San Diego. Yes, finally! I would have given 5 stars, but the lettuce threw me off.
