I had been sick for DAYS and finally got well enough and this was the first place I went! I had the birria tacos, some of their elote off the cob, and a fruit punch jarrito! 10/10 delicious and would eat every day if I could. The staff is very kind and honest and the food is always going to be great.

Sit down restaurant where we ordered at the counter. We came because it was one of the options late night in NKC. There was plenty of tables and seating. Food came out pretty quick - I ordered the quesabirria tacos which came with consomme and some side salsa. For the price, I do feel like the tacos were small. The flavor was somewhat lacking as well - I wish the consomme was richer and heartier, and that the tacos had a more prominent color to them. The tables didn't have any extra salsa bottles, which was disappointing. I've had better quesabirria taco options in KCK or at various food trucks in KC, so sadly this place was a miss.

Every time we eat here we are impressed by both the service, the prices, and the food!! It's a family owned and operated business with many regulars. The guy taking orders always has a giant smile on his face and acts genuinely grateful that you're there to eat. He is also patient and helpful with the menu. I'm gluten free & have found plenty of yummy options & everything tastes fresh. It's not a fancy place but it's consistently good!! They are open later than a lot of Mexican restaurants too. Highly recommend!

Stopped in for lunch based on good reviews. The restaurant is cute and clean. They had a taco Tuesday special for 5.99....any tacos with any fillings. I got three street tacos one with Carnitas, Carne Asada and Al Pastor. They were all delicious served on double layered corn tortillas with onions and cilantro but the Carnitas was my favorite. I got an order of chips and salsa. The chips were very good. Tasted like they might be homemade. The salsa was very disappointing. It is very thin and the mild did not have much flavor. The hot was thin also and just OK in my opinion. Overall, the food was good. The staff was very friendly, the place was clean. The entire bill was just over $10 so I found it to be very reasonable. I would definitely recommend!

This place never fails to impress!! We have gone multiple times for tacos, but recently went and ordered other items and they were SO good. We decided to try new items each time we go because we were all so impressed! The service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Came here thru word of mouth, I believe this place use to be an old Burger King. This was the most unique taco spot I've ever been to. Not only do they have tacos, they have ice cream as well! Cream and juice base. I tried the rice and cinnamon pop, different from any ice cream I've ever tried. Staff very friendly, I ordered a #1 with carne Asada and a carne Asada burrito. They messed up on my order and gave me pork instead of steak. However I must say, the guy at the register gave me a discount on my order when I came back to make them aware of the error with my food. The food I give a 5/10. The meat and sauce for the tacos didn't have any flavor at all, very bland. The meat also wasn't so tender as well. I still recommend giving this place a try.

    Albondigas Soup here is delicious!

I basically eat this soup once a week! It reminds me of my mother's recipe! I add the rice, onion, cilantro, juice of all provided limes, and throw in a dab of cholula on each spoonful! Mom always topped ours with a Mexican cheese blend, but it's great regardless! A must try if you like albondigas soup! Service is always friendly and welcoming!

    Fajita bowl!

If you like a burrito bowl from that famous chain store you're going to love the flavor and ingredients in the fajita bowl from this local, neighborhood eatery. The place is cheery, always busy, but no frills. You're not here to sit and dine...you're here to eat your favorite Mexican food or to take it to go. You order at the counter, pay, and have seat--they will bring it to you! Today I got the fajita bowl and the flavor is so deep and bright with the perfect combo of ingredients. It has Mexican rice, your choice of meat, red and green, grilled peppers and onions, pico de gallo, sour cream, mozzarella cheese, and some corn. Oh and a heap of guac. All for $9.95 plus tax! You can modify it if you want to, but I wouldn't recommend it as it's perfect just the way it is. I have had a few items on the menu over the past year And no matter what I order--It's always the best I've ever had! I highly recommend :-)!

Food was authentic and amazing! They've also done a great job rehabbing this old BK. The line on Tuesday can build up but the team is efficient in moving it. They have a designated area for to go orders that free's up dining space for in store diners. I am a military wife who got addicted to the Taqueria chain in Killeen TX, Taco Rico leveled up!!!! I hate giving away Best Kept Secrets.

I just took a swing at it, picked up a menu, and stood there. It took a while for somebody to acknowledge that I was there. The person who took my order was super involved, which is cool, but they needed some help, and the person who came by to help them seemed to be rather impatient, so that was one of the first things I noticed. They do bring your food out in a reasonable amount of time, delivered to your table. You have a number that attaches to a metal wand that they give to you. So the water station is set up in the back, you get your own water, but they were out of cups. They had a really cool aesthetic to it, with like the garage door where you can see all the downtown. The only problem was that the sun went down, and it started to get rather cold. Nobody ever closed the door, but I ordered the Asada fries. 3/5 heavy on the seasoning, but not so much on the flavor, it came across. It's kind of salty. I thought it would be different than what it was. The portion size was fine, and the green sauce that they offer you on the side really makes it better. Also ordered the CHORI queso dip lied on the chorizo for the portion size. The flavor was also a three out of five. The chip that they give you with it has a nice, good texture and reasonable seasoning. My wife had the mushroom Tinga tacos. She gave him four out of five. She really enjoyed them. The atmosphere is cool. The weights staff are really cool. I'd consider coming back on a Thursday. They have this cool thing that you can try new and upcoming dishes, and then they also have brunch, so I'm thinking about giving them a second shot. If you've never been, you should come and see what your opinion is, but really cool aesthetics and great views.

I'd classify these taxos as slightly upscale, but totally worth the extra cost. The quality, care and love from the team shows. The corn tortillas are hand made with a gorgeous masa made from organic corn. You can smell and taste the difference. I usually get 3 tacos and split a side of totopos and salsa molcajete. I highly recommend the Spicy Margarita which is not for the faint of heart but not so spicy that you're calling the fire brigade. Great lime base, solid tequila, and sliced jalapeños make for a refreshing and enjoyable cocktail. The Carne Asada Tacos are a good choice, maybe a touch light on the carne, however, but tasty. Pricing is what it is for the location. A couple could get in & out with a cocktail and dinner for around $60, so that's reasonable.
