    Steak and chicken tacos
    Kara M.

My brother recommended Taco Rico to us. It's so good! The burritos are huge!! The fajitas looked great and my street tacos were excellent! The guacamole is made fresh and some of the best I've had! They had a red and green sauce you could use to add to your food. I liked the salsa verde so well that I didn't even try the red one. This is a spot that locals enjoy. You could tell it had a steady flow of customers. If you're up by Purdue check out Taco Rico's!

This place is legit. Simple menu, simple food, great experience. And with $2.35 tacos, I don't even think you could hit the Bell for that. I got beef, steak, and pork. They're street style and you choose your shell type. Good flavor, good service!

Taco Rico is LIFE. Some of the most authentic Mexican food I've ever had. Their burritos are my absolute favorite thing to get. They are REALLY BIG. Super filling. Definitely a two handed, open wide burrito. Their chimichangas are just as big. The red and green sauce is made in house. The red sauce is very spicy and flavorful. They bring them out when they bring your food. You can buy larger containers to bring home as well. It doesn't bother me any, but they only had a license to sell beer, but not liquor. I'm not sure if that has changed yet. Its not a large location, so it's easy to get good, fast service. I've never had bad food here, and everyone is always so nice. Highly recommend.

One of the better Taco spots in the city, ua three guys dropped in around 8:00 p.m. for a weekday dinner to find a friendly and accommodating staff, lovely atmosphere, and large menu with all the fantastic options however horchata was sadly missing. We got a smattering of dishes all different. My BBQ beef was quite nice, missing tangy flacpes American BBQ boasts but tender great along with the rice and guac. The others are well too tho two muttered about how dry some of their meat was and unedible the chips were. Maybe a better spot for a rual lunch and dinner times! My one friend was very excited to come here again so guessing there's plenty here to make a tasty time.

One carnitas taco and a steak flauta. Beans had great flavor. Prefect lunch!

This place has never let me down. A friend and I met here for lunch and she was surprised by the cute atmosphere. Saw several people having the shrimp cocktail, which looked delicious. Service is pretty standard here. They do sell bottled coke, which is always a treat. Only real bummer about this place is that you can't get a margarita! My friend had the chimichanga, which was enough for 3 people. She took most of it home. The guacamole here is out of this world! It tastes so fresh. Some of the best I have had. Worth it! This time, I ordered a carnitas sope and a steak taco. The fillings are always flavorful. If you are looking for fresh Mexican food, try this place. They don't drown everything in white cheese!

This is one the best Mexican restaurant in the Greater Lafayette Area. Great food, great service.

    Fajita taco salad

Both the fajita taco salad and steak and shrimp fajitas were big portions with lots of flavor! I did take off one star, because the salad barely had any shrimp in it, and they were very small cut up pieces. The shrimp fajitas may be more worth the price than the salad. We would come back :)

    Camarones ala diabla
    Dia D.

We've eaten here a few times and every time their chips have been nice and fresh and the salsa has a little spice to it. They have an extensive menu and everything I've had has been good. We had the Camarones ala diabla, the shrimp quesadillas, and the steak quesadillas (along with 3 soft drinks the bill was $27) and we all enjoyed our meals. The waitresses have always been friendly, but it is true that it isn't obvious that you seat yourself and pay at the register when you leave. They are often busy and the clientele tends to be mostly Mexican.

Nasty food and sloppy when you get it. I will not recommend going here. Go to Senor Tacos or Los Chapparitos food truck. A lot better food

I LOVED the restaurant that occupied that space years ago, Adelino's, but it was a totally different type of cuisine, so I didn't go into it comparing the two. The ambiance was great. I loved the way they'd revamped and utilized the space. Our server was attentive initially, but after we'd put in an order for an appetizer and told her we needed a minute to look things over, it took forever for her to come back to take our orders. We didn't see her much after that either. The food wasn't worth the price in my opinion. The queso dip was good, but I feel like you should get more than you do for $10. My boyfriend loved the cheesy birria tacos, but I was less happy with mine. The meat in my tacos was barely lukewarm when they got to the table, which was weird to me; even when I get shrimp tacos elsewhere (when the shrimp isn't fried), the shrimp is at least warm. The fish taco was better than the shrimp taco, but you can get far superior tacos for cheaper at other restaurants around town. We both ordered a Paloma and found them to be very tequila forward and not as effervescent as they should have been; we were expecting carbonation but couldn't taste any bubbles (and barely any grapefruit) at all. I enjoyed it more than he did though. Overall, we're pretty sure Nom Nom is a one and done for us, which is a shame, because we'd heard great things and went into it with high expectations. But for almost $80, the food and service we received just weren't up to par.

Normally I list the positives and negatives, but I really didn't have anything negative to say. Ambiance - one word... FUN!!! It's well decorated and just a lively atmosphere. Bright lights but also decor of a Mexican temple. They had fun, vibrant almost Latin Club music playing so it was upbeat and lively. Service - the service was great. I had seen some reviews complaining but we had nothing to complain about. On a Saturday night at 7:30 we were seated immediately. The waiter took drink orders, came back to get food orders, and checked on us throughout our visit. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Food - probably some of the best Mexican food I've had!! The chips. - nice and thick and crisp. Could have used more salt but I know many places allow people to salt to their own taste. Homemade Hot Sauce - great flavor and a good amount of heat. I really enjoyed it. Ribeye Tacos - delicious. The onions and jalapeños were cooked perfectly. Even the rice was some of the best I had. Highly recommend putting some of the house hot sauce on it. Pastor street tacos - another delicious dish. The combination of the pastor and pineapples with cilantro and onion was perfect. Fajita Salad - had a bite of my daughter's food and it too was good. A good combination of vegetables and meat that I would consider for next time. Overall I would love to stop back here another time if I'm passing through Lafayette. If you haven't tried them, I highly recommend you do!!
