Came here for dinner and got a burrito bowl with rice, beans, grilled chicken, medium slash, and lettuce, with a homemade (yes made in store) burrito shell. The food was good and price unbeatable $9.70, however there wasn't a ton of flavor to the chicken or salsa. It may have been an "off night" but with some added hot sauce, all was good. One of my go to spots in Chauncey square. Quick, easy and delicious. I always get the grilled chicken burrito enchilada style and add ranch on top. This is a pretty popular spot at Purdue and usually pretty busy for dinner, but the line moves fast. They also run a discount the first Wednesday of every month during the semester. My first visit here, and my favorite thing about my meal is that the tortillas are amazing. So delicious, they truly taste like the homemade tortillas some of my friends from Texas make. Similar to Chipotle, you place your order and then walk along, choose your ingredients, and select a salsa option. I ordered my burrito enchilada style, which is served with salsa on top. All the ingredients I selected were very good except for the rice which was just average, and didn't seem to have any flavor. A local Chipotle-style place offering tacos, burritos, bowls, and quesadillas for a reasonable price. Service is fast and friendly. Tables are plentiful and your food is served on a cafeteria tray to mitigate mess. Lighting is a little dim. Lots of students chatting and a few studying on a Saturday afternoon. Opted for two grilled steak tacos plus rice and beans. The rice could've been a little more flavorful, taco toppings were fresh and filling. Great food and great service! I got the Grilled Chicken Burrito Enchilada Style. The lettuce and pico de gallo came on the side of the burrito. The tortilla was so delicious and a perfect texture. I absolutely prefer this place over Chipotle! This totally fulfilled my burrito craving. The enchilada style comes for free, and I totally recommend it. The sauce and cheese perfectly complements the fresh and hot grilled chicken. I also got rice and black beans inside mine, and it tasted so fresh and savory. There are a variety of toppings to choose from. I want to come back to try the nachos here as well. Such a great spot for Mexican food, and the service is very friendly. This is my new go-to spot for Mexican food. Close to campus and a great environment inside. The portion is filling and price is pretty much the same as Chipotle. The tortillas here are the closest that I've found to the ones at Cafe Rio. They are delicious! If they sold them separately, I would get a dozen to take home. (Hey, Fiesta Mexican Grill: You all should totally consider selling your tortillas a la carte!) In fact, my whole pork barbacoa burrito tasted quite a lot like the pork barbacoa burritos from Cafe Rio. So, if you're looking for a Cafe Rio substitute, this Mexican restaurant might fit the bill. The rice here is not my favorite, but it's not NOT good -- it just tastes like instant rice. They only have one type of rice option here (cilantro lime), but I wish they would consider also offering Mexican rice. The ordering system is set up like Chipotle, in that you tell them what you want (burrito, tacos, nachos or quesadilla), and then you can customize it however you want. Protein offered is shredded chicken, shredded beef, pork barbacoa, grilled chicken and grilled steak. You can also get your meal vegetarian (which does not come with a protein). Because this restaurant is located near Purdue University, it can get pretty busy with students filtering in and out. Also, there isn't much parking on the street. We ended up parking in the parking garage located across the street from the restaurant. read more

I lived in Chauncey Square my Sophomore year at Purdue, and I was sad I didn't start eating here until my last month I lived there, but I still come over to eat here somewhat regularly. All the tortillas are freshly made in house, the steak, and topping options such as pico de gallo are delicious too. It is also a cheap option, where I can have a generously large meal for around $8. I was disappointed in Fiesta. Maybe I was expecting too much from the high Yelp rating, or was it an off-day for the ingredients? I ordered one of the most popular items, the chicken burrito - enchilada style - with the cheese and sauce on top. To start, Fiesta makes their own tortillas in the store, cooked on a circular flat top. Pretty cool! The ingredients looked fresh, service was fast, and the staff were friendly. I stopped in for an early lunch, and by the time I left the line was 15+ deep. This place obviously has a following. The final product looked good but suffered from several problems. First, the tortilla was doughy. I don't know if it was undercooked or too thick, but it was like chewing a mushy washrag. Second, the rice was too wet, soaking the tortilla even more from the inside. Third, the chicken, beans, and rice filling were not hot enough. I ended up discarding the wet tortilla and scooping up the ingredients with my high-priced side order of chips. I thought the Diet Coke was flat. Overall 2.5 stars. What are best in class items here? If they can get the tortillas cooked right, I think that is a big draw, and the salsa is very fresh and tasty. The lettuce was good too. I'll give Fiesta another try sometime, but I won't go out of my way for a repeat visit. read more

This is the best burrito I've had around campus! It's a flour tortilla they make fresh in front of you, stuffed with meat, rice, and beans, then you can get it enchilada style for no extra charge to add sauce and cheese on top before baking. Then all the toppings you want are added on the side, like lettuce, salsa, and jalapeños. I got barbacoa with salsa verde and yum! They also have a Wednesday student meal deal with a burrito and drink for $8 and the place was packed. Very quick and friendly service too. Incredible food, amazingly kind and understanding service, and true to the college/Chauncey ambiance without being unclean or unwelcoming in any way. I miss this place. =( This place opened up my senior year. Opening day they kept giving everyone free drinks or burritos at like 99 cents each. These burritos are huge, they give huge portions of ingredients on the side. The workers there were so friendly and nice. By the second time I came here, the counter people already knew my face and gave me free drinks for like my first 10 visits. End note: this place is the bomb. Great portions at great prices. I live in Socal now so I have been spoiled with the amount and authenticity of Mexican food here. On my latest trip to the alma mater, I was expecting a liquid lunch with my pals. Instead they took me to a burrito place with a long line. I thought I was going to have to end this friendship until I saw the fresh tortilla machine. The guy put the dough into a flattening machine and then it conveys onto a hot grill. Amazing. My friends said 'enchillada style' is a must. I agree. The enchilada sauce draped over my burrito was fantastic. The burrito was huge, the veggies were perfectly cooked, and I couldn't stop eating. I could barely keep up with the conversation because I was so focused on my burrito. The only downside was the wait. There was an employee on the grill and one on the register. They needed at least one, maybe 2 more to make the line go down. I can't wait until the next time I'm in West Lafayette. Go Boilers! read more

The best Mexican food that my wife and I have had in the Midwest. My go to every time is the pork barbacoa burrito. They take the dough and make the tortilla right in front of you and then add the freshly made pork to it with a secret medium sauce that is to die for. I like to add some pico into the burrito and then slather it with that yummy green sauce. You can have it made enchilada style for free which everyone should do since it heats the entire thing up and brings out the amazing flavors. I always love to get their chips and amazing guacamole to go along with it. They have plenty of other options to choose from, and my wife usually will rotate between the chicken burrito and quesadilla. The tables/benches are great to sit down and eat with friends and don't forget to ask for a loyalty card to punch so you can get free burritos after so many visits. The staff is so friendly and have gone with my wife to eat there what feels like hundreds of times as students and after we graduated and got married. They somehow remember "the usual?" order for us even after we moved away and didn't visit for about a year. If I had 20 more stars to give this place I would. This is an amazing first date place, casual place to just grab lunch, or a place to bring a ton of friends. If you ever are in the area then I absolutely insist that you try this place out and see what has made it me and many others favorite place to eat. read more
