We always get it deliver The best Mexican meal for a lazy thunderstorm Sunday. We had nachos with carnita the works, delicious, my husband had the street tacos and we shared the fiesta plate. all dishes were authentic fresh Mexican, delicious and good size portions for the price. this place is fire!! I tried the steak quesadilla and the crunchy chicken tacos.. let me tell, I am a huge fan of Mexican food, and this place was pretty authentic. Thanks to my friend for the recommendation, it's a hidden spot in Hialeah however definitely worth trying out. Next time I want to try the nachos, those look like a mountain of food. For being called the Taco Shop, their tacos were surprisingly disappointing. After looking exhaustively on yelp for a taco place for Taco Tuesday, I settled on this place because I've been wanting to check it out because it's the only non chain taco spot in Hialeah. bad choice indeed. The first sign should've been that the place was pretty empty for it being a taco Tuesday. But whatever I still came in cause I was starving. Now for their tacos, they sell them individually or as a trio. But this is where it gets kind of confusing. Some of the tacos you can only order as a trio such as the grilled shrimp and the tongue, but that isn't specified on their menu. So I end up ordering the carne asada, al pastor tacos, and chicken tacos on corn tortillas. They give you chips and there's a small salsa bar for them with mild, medium, or hot. The chips were a little bit stale, but since I came at basically 10pm I didn't care much. Now for the tacos, honestly I was so sad I wasted money on something that wasn't satisfying. The al pastor tacos had wayyyy too much onion and like no pineapples and the carne asada ones had too little pico de gallo. The chicken one was alright but nothing spectacular. The only good thing is that they give you guac and sour cream for free. Would I come back? No. But try it out for yourself and let me know what you think.

This restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza, and it's not the best looking plaza but you won't miss it. Once you walk in, you could see that it is a mom and pop restaurant, a gem ppl would miss if they are fooled by its cover. The decor is all Mexican culture and even the music is ranchero. They have a good variety of things to choose from on their menu. They have a good amount of sodas ( common ones such as Pepsi and sprite and they also have not so common ones such as jarito). Horchata, passion fruit and tamarindo juice. We choose the sampler platter and one that brought shrimp, rice, liquified beans, and lettuce and tomatoes. They also have a salsa bar. They have from non-spicy to prepare your pampers spicy hahahahaha. The portions are fantastic (prepare to have left overs). The ladies who help with your order in the counter will bring your food to your desk when it's ready. Enjoy!!!!!

This Are The absolute best tacos you can get in the area. I get the 3 crunchy carne asada tacos, and my gf gets the Birria street tacos. Absolutely amazing, and delicious. Great prices too.

I've ordered from this place so many times that I'm just glad it's been through an app and not in person because they would think I never cook! Ive ordered up to three times in the same week from them and you know what, I don't regret, not even a little bit! Prices are great, portions are generous most of the time. Since I've ordered many times and quite often I have noticed a lack of consistency on the portions of protein depending on which one you order. What I've Tried: -Taco Salad: This is what i always order. Sometimes I request it without rice and I usually change up the protein but this salad has yet to fail me. Lettuce, pico de gallo, refried beans, cheese, rice and items like carne asada, grilled chicken, carnitas, al pastor or ground beef in a crispy shell. Most of the time it comes with a side of guac and a side of sour cream, tortilla chips and some salsa. -Chicken WIngs: Your choice of six or eight fried wings served with fries, buffalo sauce and either ranch sauce or blue cheese for under $10. -Nachos: These are my boyfriend's favorite. My boyfriend eats it all himself and ends up in a food coma but it is definitely more than enough to share. His topping of choice is usually the chicken. -California Fries: Similar to the nachos except in place of tortilla chips at the bottom, it's fries. It's like loaded fries on steroids. If we have any left of this, we just pop it into the oven for a couple of minutes and they're just as good. -Tamales: Being Cuban Honduran, I was ashamed to say I had never tried Mexican tamales so when I saw these on their menu I decided to give them a try. While they were drier than the different tamales I'm used to, I really enjoyed them and am now can add another type of tamale I like to my list. -Quesadillas: Simple but delicious. The one thing I don't really like from this place is the guacamole. It's ok on the nachos and fries since it's mixed with all the other ingredients but on it's own it's weird. That is the main thing I feel needs improvement.

If you skimp on sauces, it's going to cost you! I've eaten at this spot a couple of times on and off and somehow hadn't been motivated to review it. To it's credit, it's OK. It's pretty authentic (staff is actually Mexican as is the decor and soundtrack. ) Their chicken tacos, are particularly good. They were loaded with chicken, lettuce, Pico De Gallo, and sour cream. The chips were crispy, if a little greasy. Service was pleasant. But... If you read my reviews, you know the sauce and seasoning is an essential part of my meal. They used to have a self-serve salsa bar which I generously patronized especially with their burritos. However, when I went tonight the salsa bar is no longer. I had to keep asking for salsa, which was served in cups smaller than a cortadito and a little less than the nearby chain Mexican restaurant. No es bueno! Especially because my chicken burrito, while nicely packed with meat and a decent helping of crema tasted heavy on beans and light on salsa. That's why you get only 3 stars.

Great find in Hialeah. There are lots of options from Taco's to Quesadilla's to Burritos and much more. You can tell the food is fresh and made right when you order it. Everyone there is very nice and funny too! They have different salsa's that range from mild to hot, you can choose and try as many as you want. Their guac is REALLY good. I had three tacos for lunch and they were delicious. Thumbs up! read more

If you have a hankering for "Mexican" Mexican food, the Taco Shop should meet your craving. That said, nothing here blew me away. Nothing bad, just A-OK. Beans were decent but really thick. Rice was just like every other average restaurant I've been to (does Sysco make a Mexican rice seasoning? That'd explain it). They do have a salsa bar with decent options, and based on the comments it sounds like the Miami-area is lacking in good Mexican restaurants. If you're heading south, swing through the Homestead area for some kick-ass Mexican comida. Some of the cheap, truly authentic places I go to down there are 10 stars if this place is a 3. read more

This was my first time here and was very happy with my meal. I had the Beef Chimichanga and it was outstanding. Everything is made fresh and it's authentic Mexican. It's a little hole in the wall spot but it's worth visiting if you're in the area. read more

I ordered fajitas. It was so bad. First fajitas should be skirt steak or flap meat. This was a regular super thin palomilla. Than it was brought in a skillet and burned and crispy...it looked like bacon. read more

I'm always ordering here and I have never had a problem with them, no matter what time it is. The food is always fresh, well done and the wait is not long. The chicken quesadilla and refried beans are my absolute favorite! I came to this place based on the reviews I read. Honestly, it's not all that good. I've came across way better Mexican restaurants. The food just tasted bland to me, not enough flavor. The service was excellent though and I like that it has an authentic Mexican feel to it. But all in all, for the price and quality of the food I don't think it's worth it. read more

This place is great! I've had many different items and pretty much everything has been good. Prices are good (although they just went up a bit) and the service is fast. The restaurant is large and has plenty if seating. They have one if those condiment bars with various hot sauces and the mixed pickled jalapeños, onions, and carrots. Love that stuff. It's on the main strip in Hialeah with some parking in the front and a bunch more out back. Can be a pain to get to with traffic at certain times of the day. Also, it is located next to a really good dessert/cupcake shop. If you like Mexican, it is definitely worth a stop if you are in the Hialeah area! read more

I was driving through Hialeah looking for something to eat but all I saw was the same corporate garbage you find in every city across America. I was about to give up when I noticed the Taco Shop! This is one of my favorite Mexican shops, definitely always a hit. My boyfriend and & i and our friend always stop here when we are hungry and it never disappoints. The owners are very nice and humble, so its more of a family owned place. Aside from the menu, they have a lot of mexican snacks and goodies in the front. They have a tonnn of things to choose from, for all kinds of taste buds. They also have plates for vegetarians so its a win win for everyone. However, my favorite things off the menu are the Chicken Nachos, Beef Chimichanga, Sampler Platter, & Beef Tacitos. Don't forget to try the different Mexican drinks to go with your food, they enhance the flavors in my opinion. If you are into Mexican food and want to be hooked on it, then look no further. This place has authentic Mexican food. As soon as you walk in you feel like you walked into a taco shop in Mexico. The guacamole is great and the shrimp taco and pink sauce was fire. Almost every plate came with guacamole too so if you're interested in ordering guacamole and chips, I'd say hold off on it until you get your food. We had so much extra chips and guacamole. They also had a sauce bar that was pretty solid. Overall, I would come here again if you're in the area. read more

This is not the place to be if you're in a rush. Actually, come to think of it, everyone in Hialeah seems hella lax. There is no sense of urgency from anyone so this may be normal. There were 4 people in front of me and it took me 12 minutes to place an order. That's way to long to place an order- and it's been over 10 minutes and I am still waiting for the tacos. Received the steak tacos. Disgusting. I expected better tacos give their name. On the upside their Horchata is really good. read more

Ordered for the first time and I loved it. We ordered via Postmates and when the food arrived, none of it was soggy. The original chicken tacos were great. The chicken nachos were also good. We even asked for the pico and sour cream on the side and they did exactly that. read more

Sometimes I still accidentally call this place Roberto's. I have been following this restaurant since it was where chipotle is. The name has changed, I'm sure the owners have too. don't order here unless it's from uber eats. the service is HORRIBLE. I took my order to go and they gave us ground beef instead of barbacoa on a burrito and then on my quesadilla, I asked for carnitas and they gave Barbados. they also gave no nachos even though our orders came with it. when I called to solve the issue, I was told they didn't give nachos because it was very busy and they were only giving nachos to certain people and that I was lying about the ground beef because the cook said he did not cook ground beef today. absolutely terrible. I thought that was going to be my new go to since i ordered on uber eats and it was okay but wow. I am stunned. read more

This is a nice little find in the middle of Hialeah. It's authentic Mexican food and soooo good. The prices a little extra but it's no big deal. The food is worth it. The sides are lacking in serving size, but they are still good. It's family friendly and it just feels homey in there. Don't let the outer image fool you, this is a hidden gem and should definitely be checked out. read more

I order from here often through Uber eats. My favorite go to order is the crispy beef tacos, They are amazing! My husband normally goes for the enchiladas and always enjoys it and the servings are always huge! But what prompted me to post a review was the service. Today I decided to eat in and of course food was great but to get to know they are a family owned restaurant and are so attentive to their customers I had to leave 5 stars .. great food and great service ! read more

Excellent tacos, burritos, nachos and a very large selection of domestic and international beers. The owner was generous with homemade nachos. Everything was being made on the premises. Tostadas, nachos, soft tacos were being made from scratch on the premises right in front of us. It was a great meal and well worth the 40 mile drive. This place does not look like much from outside but it offers plenty of seating in a casual atmosphere. Do not forget to try the beers. read more

Since we're not from the area, we weren't sure where to go for lunch, and we truly lucked out choosing Don Maguey--and having Carolina as our server. Thank you, Carolina. Asiago Gnocchi was a huge predominantly white plate filled with probably 24-30 dumplings. Drink menu had a lot of creative cocktails. I ordered a steak quesadilla and nachos very happy until I Found hair in my food the first time. Went to the bathroom there was a cockroach these people need inspections. It was dirty smelled like shit and period. After months past I decided to give it a chance on the Uber eats app. They forgot half the things I ordered. All the food was made wrong. Found an old gray hair long different one. The food was most likely made without gloves or hairnets. The managers are fucking crazy too. When I made a complaint they were rude and when I told them the head lady with black hair was a huge bitch and went crazy saying I don't need to eat here because this is a family owned place and she knows how it's runned. The fact that she was that rude showed me her "family" owned place was bullshit just like her family values and her behavior. No manners. No kindness and no cleanliness. DIRTY BATHROOMS. DIRTY FOOD. Taco Shop! When first driving in to this "hole- in-the-wall" you see that in the front there is an extreamely limited space as i went to the back I couldn't stop grinning. The space back there is huge here i thought that there would be no parking space but boy was a wrong. The food is great especially for the price and I hear they even deliver to anyone near the area lucky them. I have to say my favorite dish would be the mole it tastes just like my mom makes. (Mexican is his fave food) I founded this one, The Taco Shop in Hialeah. Let me say that is the best Mexican Food in Miami that we have eating in a long time.
