Wow!! I just had lunch at Los Magueyes in Miami Lakes and I am blown away. This little hole in the wall spot is tucked away in a shopping plaza, but don't let that fool you. The food here is some of the most authentic Mexican cuisine I've had in a long time. I'm always on the hunt for places that truly capture the flavors of Mexico, and this place absolutely hits the spot. The first sign I knew I was in for something special was the horchata. It wasn't watered down like so many other places.. it was creamy, sweet, and perfectly balanced. Yum!!! From there, everything just got better. I tried the steak burrito, chicken flautas, steak quesadillas, tacos al pastor, and the guacamole with chicharrón, and every single bite was incredible. It's the kind of place you don't take left overs home! You enjoy every bite and your taste buds will be dancing inside your mouth Everything tasted fresh, homemade, and full of rich, authentic flavor. If you're craving real Mexican food and are tired of the same generic spots, this place is a must visit. I can't wait to come back and try even more from their menu. The service is attentive and the people that work here are friendly. I felt comfortable stuffing my face here lol

This little hidden gem in Miami Lakes has some of the most authentic mexican food you can find in the neighborhood. And some of the nicest people. This place has been in business for a very long time and the owner is always there working right along with his staff. He is so helpful and attentive. He's always passing by the tables making sure you have everything you need and truly makes you feel welcomed. The place itself has that old school Mexican feel. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. You feel like you are gonna get one heck of a meal. When you sit at the table you're given chips with 2 different types of salsas. (one very spicy, and one less spicy). Of course we had to get some horchata. And the horchata here is delicious. One of the best ones we've tried! They have amazing tacos! This last time we went I got the carne asada tacos and it was to die for. They are loaded with meat!! Great for the price! It also comes with a side of rice and beans. This is the place to go for a Taco Tuesday or a Mexican Getaway!

Came here since recently moving to Miramar area and was craving some authentic Mexican food. Upon arriving we were greeted by the owner opening the door for us and being so welcoming seating us immediately. The establishment isn't super big so the Resturant was full for a Tuesday night. We were then greeted immediately by our server, who I believe was the owners son, and got our drink and food order in. We ordered the Tacos de Lengua and Taquitos, both of which were delicious. The chips and salsa were also so rich in flavor. We just overall had an amazing experience. We love a good family owned restaurant that actually cares about their customers. Definitely recommend this place for some yummy authentic Mexican food, but also just the feel of the restaurant and service.

Easily my newest favorite Mexican restaurant in south Florida. Deeply authentic food, very flavorful, tastes perfect. Outdoor dining on the patio is easy to procure, even when it's rainy- a very relaxing and calm atmosphere. Service and staff is always attentive and warm and friendly. I love this place. Gotten the California burrito each time I've gone and it's fantastic. Margaritas too.

Best Mexican spot 10/10 - food and service is amazing! If you want real authentic food and a place that makes you feel like your family this is the place to be

The menu is solid and dependable, especially if you're in the mood for Mexican comfort food done right. Portions are generous, flavors are familiar, and everything comes out hot and fresh. The fajitas are a safe bet, the tacos hit the spot, and the margaritas do exactly what they're supposed to do after a long day. Nothing feels overcomplicated, which I actually appreciate here. The vibe is casual and laid-back, very much a locals' place. You'll see families, regulars, and people clearly on a first-name basis with the staff. Service can be a little uneven depending on how busy it is--sometimes super attentive, sometimes a bit slow--but it's friendly and well‑intentioned, which goes a long way. We enjoy coming for birthdays and always enjoy the Mariachi's perform. Overall, Cancun Grill is a reliable Miami Lakes staple. It's the kind of place you go when you want a relaxed meal, a strong margarita, and zero pressure to impress anyone. Not flashy, not fussy--just solid comfort food that keeps you coming back. We went here between January 27 & February 6/2026. La Potranca has five Florida locations, but this cantina does not feel like a chain. Authentic sabor Mexicano with an excellent friendly staff. Family friendly & handi-able accesible from the parking lot. This location gets full by 7pm but there is extended service & seating in the common covered courtyard. Plenty of parking in this strip mall location. Service is excellent, fast, & great choices of tacos & drinks. You can choose from 14 different meats/cuts for your tacos, including birria & al pastor. Bow to the taco! Also gringas, vampiros, & burritos. They have bowls (they're BIG) & brunch. p.s. try the churros with 3 dipping sauces. Drinks are extra special here. The clamato & beer cocktail is very unique. Served in a Tajin rimmed large mug, with lime & a tamarind wrapped straw. Excellante! Also a variety of margaritas served in whimsical glasses & their three house cervazas (beers) on draft. La Potranca pays homage to iconic singer & actor Vincente Fernandez "King of Ranchera". Check out the interesting connection with the staff or online. The staff here is excellent. Very helpful when navigating the menu. Very friendly. True professionals. Special shout out to Mauricio & Ralphael - you hombres make this place truly special. Mucho Gracias. We give La Potranca our highest recommendation. Mauricio was at the bar and we definitely missed being under his attention by not sitting there. Eliezer (the Venezuelan waiter from Mérida) took care of us in the dining room. Both are always very friendly and attentive. This time we decided to sit in the dining room because we were a group of three and had a lot to talk about. The place has 4 TVs and we were able to enjoy the France vs Spain match. We all ordered La Tropical Draft beer, a light, smooth, and very refreshing blonde. In total we had 16 beers . We shared nachos with grilled steak, which were very good (they pour the melted cheese right at the table). We also ordered tripa tacos well toasted (that's the technique) as we requested, and they came out excellent. Note: They have different promotions or offers depending on the day, not a regular happy hour variety, so it's good to be aware of that. The restaurant offers a good variety of 8 salsas: Sirloin, Chips, Guacamole, Verde, Vicente, Pastor, Chilanga, and Asada. Good atmosphere, pleasant service, and tasty food. We'll definitely keep coming back.

Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. It is very expensive for what it is, and even more expensive when your waitress manipulates the system.
