I've came to this place a few times before it was ok food but today they completely just gave me a box of grease . I'm throwing it out not even going to eat it

Small restaurant, great service! The woman at the register welcomed me with a huge smile and offered some recommendations. I chose the quesabirria tacos. I love that everything is cooked fresh. The tacos and consomé were delicious, especially with the green sauce! Yum! The prices are a bit on the high side. For example, a side of guacamole and chips was $7 or $8. The tacos I got (3) and consomé was 13.99. There are more menu items I'd like to try so I'll certainly be back when I'm ready to splurge a little.

This place kind of sucks now... this is a recent realization I've come to. I won't be back. The food is very avg, nothing special or original about it. Just basic tacos - meat, onions, and cilantro. If this is the only option near you it's ok, but it's much better tacos in Norcross and on delivery apps. I'm ok with basic tacos, what I'm not ok with is the price. One taco in person (and via delivery apps) is $5 now which is a joke - these are small street tacos. Taco Tuesdays is half off, but you can't order them on flour tortillas. They're very stingy with the sauces, you don't even get 1 sauce per taco usually. The service is avg at best. If you go in to order tacos you're probably waiting 10 mins or more. Not much going on inside and not really anything exceptional in terms of customer service. The customer service was better when they first opened. The ambiance inside isn't anything special. It has the ambiance of a fast food restaurant with dine in prices. Overall this has become an over priced establishment that does everything avg at best. If you're going to pay top dollar for Mexican food do it somewhere else. If you're on a food delivery app you're better off ordering tacos from an establishment in Norcross. Same quality, half the price. You would think something would be exceptional about the restaurant at these prices, but everything falls short. Ive had better more welcoming customer service a big box fast food places. Spending $30 and getting 3 small sauces is diabolical. The food is so expensive it's no way their margins are that tight that they have to ration out sauces. This place had potential, but the steady price increases and poor customer service ruined it for me. It's just no reason these tacos should be almost $5 a taco. It's absurd. Even heard the phrase you get what you pay for? WTF am I paying for lol everything is avg. This place sucks

Hole in the wall Mexican spots are always the best, so make sure you find Taco Takeout and get yourself an amazing meal! We ordered online and it was ready in a quick 20 minutes. I had 2 street tacos and my boyfriend got their carnitas fries. We also ordered churros but unfortunately they were out, so I'll definitely be back to try them next time! The tacos were just how I like them. The chorizo was flavored beautifully, the lengua was nice and chewy (if you've never tried cow tongue before, I would HIGHLY recommend it). The chorizo fries were also really good, although the fries got a little soggy from the transport home. The fries and tacos came with 3 types of salsa and queso which were all good. My favorite was their smoked red chili one, and it was super spicy. For a cheap, quick Mexican spot in Roswell, make sure you stop by taco takeout!

Chips and salsa, the chips were fresh and crispy.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced and they have birria tacos! Clean restaurant and friendly service. That's all you need!

This is one of my favorite restaurants!! I eat here regularly and get the birria tacos and chorizo queso!

I could eat tacos every day, so I was thrilled to learn about a taco shop no more than 5 minutes from my home. I placed an order online for pickup, received an estimated time for pickup and headed to get my order. When I arrived my order wasn't ready, the cashier tried to call me, but I didn't' answer. They didn't have Chile relleno tacos, so they weren't sure what I wanted substituted, I definitely understood the delay. I waited maybe about 10 minutes for two shrimp tacos and an order of queso dip & chips. I arrived around 5:54pm on a Monday night in May and the place was empty, only two employees working. The establishment was very clean! I know the taco shop has mixed reviews, but my tacos were five stars, they were perfect! nicely seasoned, good portion and very tasty. The queso was so-so! The service was very good, the cashier chatted with me while I waited, had a smile, and packaged my meal so it held up well for the drive.   I would definitely order from here again and hope I have an opportunity to try the Chile relleno tacos since these are my favorite and not something you frequently see on menus here in Georgia. It also would be nice if the online ordering system only displayed items that were available for order.

I ddecided to give this spot a try as it was near to my house and I wanted to try something quick and new . After scrolling through yelp I decided on the steak fries . When I got there my food was already prepared which was a plus . I saw they had specialty drinks and asked the front lady the name but couldn't quite make out what she said because of the language barrier . None the less I decided to try . I'm glad I did, it's good kinda reminds me of sorrel which is why I called it that lol but I could be wrong . Now let's get into the steak fries. It's bussin! Lol but no for real I think I did wrong by going there because now it'll be my guilty pressure. Try it! You won't be disappointed

I visited this place for lunch today and wanted to try their birria ramen. It's a small, neatly decorated place. You have to place and pay for your order at the counter. We got Birria Tacos, Ramen Birria, Fried Chicken tacos, Chicken Chimichanga, and Horchata. Food came out hot and fresh. I loved the flavors of Birria ramen, but it was very salty; we couldn't eat it much. Loved the Birria Tacos; they weren't as oily as you get at other places. Tacos were adequately stuffed. Chicken Taco was very flavorful and the best one from today's visit. Horchata was too watery. The chimichanga was good. I would give this place one more chance because the tacos and service were good

I finally got to attend this place and always wanted to try it since I moved to the Atlanta area…read more I've heard nothing but great things about it. Needless to say, I was not disappointed. It's a beautiful restaurant inside meaning it's good for a date, a night out with friends or family, or a great place to celebrate for a prom or graduation. It's more upscale than a traditional restaurant however I loved it! I came here with my business coach since I won a competition and the prize was to have lunch at the place of my choice. She ordered the soup of the day, which was like this cheddar soup that came with these two sauces, which one of the sauces was a jalapeño based sauce, which was spicy, but not too spicy to wear it wasn't edible. She did like her soup and she also ordered the lobster and smoked Gouda ravioli for her entrée. She had no complaints considering she bagged the food up to go and wanted to finish it right there, but she couldn't. Lol. I ordered the twin seared chicken, which is actually half a chicken pan seared. My chicken was so delicious! It was tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection to where it was fall off the bone. Just how I like it! The rice and the green beans paired well with it. My rice was cooked well, meaning it was not mushy or hard. And my green beans were a great consistency as well. My little one had a chicken tender salad since she loves cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, pretty much anything that comes in a salad that's not the lettuce. Lol. I must say I was impressed by the size of the salad because it was huge for a child. It would be great as a size salad for an adult. The chicken tenders were an amazing size, bigger than what most restaurants would give especially for a child's plate. I was highly impressed by the size of the portions for the children because the price is pretty standard for a kids meal entrée in comparison to other restaurants that give less. Our service was awesome! I wouldn't expect anything less considering the ambience of the restaurant. Our server was attentive, and he even bagged up both of our meals for us. This place is a 10 out of 10 and yes, I will be frequenting this restaurant a lot more in the future, even if it's by myself to sit at the bar.

They needed to clean the booth, so we waited, but when we were taken to our seats, one side of the booth still had cocktail stirrers on the seat. (Likely 4 smaller people would have been able to squeeze into that booth, but knowing we had 3 larger adults in our party of 5, I asked if we could move to a table.) Moving to the open table required a manager's override. Very thankfully, a waiter asked if we'd been helped, when he noticed us standing near the hostess stand, and explained that a manager needed to make the change to a table with chairs. (The hostess did not explain that to us.) The waitress at our table was polite to us and provided excellent service, but it was clear she was trying to rush us along. I ordered the almond encrusted trout, which was okay, but the mashed sweet potatoes were served cold. (Maybe it was wrong of me to assume they would be served warm, as I have had sweet potato salad at a Korean restaurant that was served cold, but seeing that my husband's mashed potatoes were steaming hot, it was another disappointment.). When we told them that we were there for my husband's birthday, they did comp us the cost of a dessert and put a lit candle in the desert for us. However, the overall experience and food were just okay, not great, as we had hoped.

Unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded before we were even seated. When I walked into the restaurant, I was completely ignored by a young blonde employee named Claudia who was standing behind the counter in the waiting area. She looked directly at me and continued what she was doing without so much as a greeting or an acknowledgment. A simple, "Good morning, someone will be right with you," would have gone a long way. Since no one else was in the lobby and I noticed a clipboard on the counter, I politely asked if there was a waitlist. Claudia responded with an attitude that she "wasn't the hostess." I calmly asked where the hostess was, and she simply replied that she was clearing tables. There was no offer to help, no explanation of the process, and no attempt to assist me. She continued interacting with other staff members while I stood there feeling like an inconvenience. Thankfully, another employee who appeared to be a waiter noticed me. He immediately picked up the same clipboard that had been sitting on the counter, took my name and phone number with a cheerful attitude, and let me know it would be about a 15-minute wait. His professionalism completely contrasted with the poor customer service I had just experienced. Once seated, our waiter was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was also very good. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scramble with hash browns, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Catfish and Grits and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The food and our waiter helped redeem the experience, but first impressions matter. Management should ensure that every employee understands that providing basic courtesy and hospitality is everyone's responsibility, not just the hostess's. Even if greeting guests or managing the waitlist wasn't Claudia's primary role, there was no excuse for being dismissive or rude to someone walking through your front door. Alpharetta has no shortage of excellent brunch spots with both great food and outstanding customer service. Sadly, because of the way I was treated before I was even seated, I won't be returning to The Southern Porch. I also won't feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. It's disappointing because the kitchen and our waiter did their jobs well, but one employee's attitude overshadowed what could have been an otherwise enjoyable brunch.
