After shopping at Bellis Fair on a rainy Friday night, I was getting hungry and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I spotted Taco Bell and Taco Time, directly across the road from each other. It's Taco Time, boyyyy!!!! It was a no-brainer since I'm used to seeing plenty of Taco Bell locations back in New England, but not as rampant as the countless Dunkin Donuts locations over there. Like Taco Bell, Taco Time is also a Mexican fast food style restaurant (order at the counter & drive-thru), but the food here is brought out to your table on regular dishes (dine-in). I had the Mexi Platter ($6.69 plus tax), chicken taco, crisp chicken burrito, pinto beans with cheese, Mexi fries (tater tots), and a side salad with sour cream dressing, all on one plate plus a side of tortilla chips. The food came out hot and that was plenty of food for a good price. Way better food than the Bell! The staff here was friendly. I only wish there were Taco Time locations in New England. Taco Time was a family favorite when I was growing up. They are still the healthiest and freshest fast food around, and this location does a fine job of it. Is this authentic Mexican food. They serve something called "Mexi-fries", so, um, NO. But it is miles better than Taco Bell. The last time I ate there, they seemed to have changed the seasoning on the Mexi-fries, which really bummed me out. Please don't mess with my tots! They were lovely little nuggets of crispy, salty, potatoey goodness, they don't need to me taco flavored! Note for Disabled: Reasonably accessible, has its own parking lot. read more

Taco Time NW - Habenero burrito totally messy - Fast Food Near Me - Bellingham, Washington

I usually come to Taco Time for lunch, not often, but it is still a place I like to go. The food is good, not the best ever, but still good. My favorite menu item is the tater tots (Mexi Fries). Fresh, they are divine. Hot from the fryer, lightly salted, the are golden crispy goodness. I have had really good burritos here in the past (Natural Soft Taco or the Chicken Soft Taco) but they don't seem as good as they once were. It's probably me. Sometimes it's too much beans or not enough of something else. Their theme used to be "Fresh Mex" and I think they could do more of that...more fresh, real ingredients (veggies, etc), less fillers (beans, rice, etc.) read more

Big fan of this chain, its a little pricey but I'll always pay more to not have diarrhea (*hem hem* Taco Bell). I usually hit up the one on Samish, it's super consistent, but we grabbed lunch at meridian the other day and everything was sloppily put together and stuck to the wrapper like it'd been sitting for a while. As far as taco time goes, its pretty good for fast food tacos and burritos. Conveniently located near Costco just off the Guide. The amazing part is the drive thru staff, they are always friendly and in a good mood (or at least faking the good mood well). You can say that about other fast food restaurants. read more

Quality fast food meal. It is clear that this store and company take great pride in providing fresh quality food in a quick fashion and this location is no exception. The entire team of staff members working on 3-31 at around 7pm were friendly and worked together as a team. The inside decor is not as welcoming as the one near WWU- but that is just because this is an older location near the mall. All in all though a great value and quality meal. It is clear when you eat here that you are eating a much healthier for you and more quality ingredients then the other quick taco place across the street. read more

I never give reviews, but i fear for humanity. I don't recall ever waiting at the drive thru window so long! I'm guessing 5 minutes. For 4 tacos! Worse, the soft taco had this runny liquid in it and was cold. The hard tacos were ice cold also, like they had just been pulled from the fridge. Worst mex food I've ever tried to eat and I'm 67. So disappointed ! I have eaten here over the years always had good food. Last two times not so great. Got the Bacon guacamole with ground beef. First time no guacamole . Thought ok could see stuff could happen. Today got it again took one bite into ice cold ground beef! They gave me a hot one but I could not shake the taste of the cold ground beef. They ran for the wrong border! The silliest excuse for a taco ever! A flour tortilla not even warmed up much less fried with so much sour cream the whole thing was cold to the touch. We asked them to put it in the microwave and it was still cold! And by cold I mean holding it in your hand you could feel the chill of the sour cream. I know this isn't meant to be Mexican food but seriously, go across the street to Taco Bell for your hint of Mexican food. At least they aim the right direction with the tastes they offer. As vegetarians, we're no strangers to Taco Bell's bean burritos. In fact, it's about the only fast food we ever pick up. Being new to the northwest, we felt the need to branch out to Taco Time, with high expectations. No dice. I got a veggie fit-hit bowl, hoping for a tasty bowl of black beans & rice with all the trimmings, only to be served a lukewarm salad with the occasional black bean. My husband tried the bean burrito & "mexi-fries". He was happy with his burrito, although Taco Bell clearly reigns supreme in the fast food faux-Mexican world. Workers are friendly food really needs help. If there was an option for 1/2 a star I would just because the people were nice. The salsa taste like progresso soup. Look on YouTube on how to make some real salsa would help a bit. read more
