As a Taco Time fan, I've always loved this NW staple. Like Pagliacci and Dicks, there is a sense of warmth and comfort in the locations. The food is always consistent and the turnout of the food is fresh. I love how I can always see the staff making and preparing food. Unlike Taco Del Mar which I believe is also local, everything is buffet looking. Ambiance is a tad dark with 90's browns and greens. I wish there was an update or refresh but I got spoiled with the Wallingford art deco like design. No complaints. I've tried everything on the menu and the chicken is always seasoned perfectly and the salsas are fresh and tangy. Their habanero kicks my butt post Covid so I don't know if it's me or my taste buds. Either way I go back for more. Service is great and the gal with a yellow apron went above and beyond. Great location and I hope to uplift the hard work of these staff at the lake-city location. I go to this taco time all the time I've had different issues with them from cashiers not giving back my change the other day I went there and got somebody else's order. But today when I went there again, I was disappointed my tea had no ice in it and my fish were well cooked and cold. The lady at the window acted like she didn't want to come to work today. I saw the poster Banner out front that says New Management which is a huge relief because years ago when I tried this location under it's old management just after they opened and they literally served me Mexi fries from the drive-thru that tasted like LOL a construction site lol first visit trying this place in quite a while and very pleased with the experience thus far the friendly customer service at the front counter was excellent the building is wonderfully air conditioned with lots of comfortable large boots and most importantly the special order custom chicken burrito that I'm enjoying was made correctly and perfectly. The crew here at Burien Taco Time are amazing. So friendly & welcoming, they make the best food because they make it with love Charo always smiles & makes my food so delicious. Even though she's behind the food prepping counter, she is always greeting me and is very nice. Also the diet coke here is calibrated to perfection. All the staff are so great I will drive from farther away, just to come to this Taco Time because it is superior to all others. Well based on today's beef taco & Mexi fries I would have to give 1 star. I went through the drive thru at 12:20pm. Ordered 1 chicken & 1 beef taco, mexi fries & a sour cream ranch dressing. The wait time was a little long but the young lady at the window apologized as they were very busy. Took my order home and had my chicken taco first. It was fine. Size of order & temperature and quality of Mexi fries was disappointing. Small, not hot enough & they were falling apart. Sour cream ranch sauce had very little ranch flavor. The beef taco was inedible because it was so salty. I tried to call them but the number listed is a fax number. Tried calling both their local customer service number and the 1-800 number but got recordings. I hope they realize how salty they are before they serve more people. read more

There are only two places that I've had a deep fried burrito, Taco Time in the PNW and Amigos in Omaha (a 5 Star Mexican Fast Food). It's been a while since I've been in Seattle and I will say, Taco Time has dipped in quality but it remains a better than average fast food Mexican restaurant all because of the crispy meat burrito. For all the "it's not Taco Bell" comments, Taco Time had no intentions to be like Taco Bell, it started at the same time and though it hasn't gone national, it was always better. The tacos and burritos, the maybe homemade salsa was always better and I'm a fan of Taco Bell. The service is slow but that's a post pandemic thing, everyone is slow and a little more rude now. The in door seating was a bit unkept, again it's a post pandemic thing, shortage of staff to keep up with orders and cleanliness. I stopped by this afternoon and here's the rundown: Waited 20+ minutes for food Food was cold when it finally arrived Taco shells were stale All tables dirty, I picked the least dirty one and then wiped it down myself. Smelled like sour mop in the whole place The floor was literally sticky is was so dirty Beverage machine is one of those with the touchscreen and huge variety of flavors, however it was out of probably 85% of them. TVs were not , no music. So you are in complete silence except for listening to the employees discussing when they were to get off work. It actually felt like they were about to close the doors for good and just really couldn't care less. I'm not sure what has happened to Taco Time lately. They've all gone downhill but this one is especially awful. I think we've reached a point that you can't use pandemic as an excuse anymore. Under new management and the Lake City Taco Time has returned to its roots serving up fresh, tasty food with friendly service. It has been years since I visited this Taco Time NW after one too many sad, disappointing meals. But after life threw some sudden curveballs I wanted comfort food and found myself craving mexi-fries (now called tater fries) and a chicken soft taco. Seeing the banner indicating it's under new management I decided to give the Lake City location another chance. So glad I did! They let me know it'd be a few minutes while they cooked a fresh batch a fresh batch of tater fries; so worth it. I've since been back to the drive thru a couple times and am greeted with friendly service and freshly made food. Looking forward to the upcoming anniversary deal on crisp tacos when Taco Time celebrates their 62nd anniversary in October. I can still remember the ad jingle from when I was a kid, "good good, fresh fresh Taco Time!" This location is now living up to that tune. read more

I may have to re-think my priorities. Why is Taco Time so expensive? They charge $10 for ONE burrito--the soft kind. What am I giving up? --Four Big Macs (@ the 2 for $5 price) --Ten Sausage Muffins --One large pizza --Two 12-packs Coke (non-Seattle prices) --One huge hoagy sandwich, split in two I suppose it's the perfect combination of beef, beans and cheese that beats Taco Bell. I don't often leave bad reviews if you look at my profile pretty much most are positive. Sadly my experience at this Taco Time wasn't great. By Gf said her fit bowl was bland and tasted different from other Taco times and my Chicken soft taco was just lettuce at chicken no tomato or sauce or anything that's normally in it. I hate being negative but will likely avoid this one going forward and go to the Aurora one instead as I'm in Northgate. My past experiences here have been mid as well. DO NOT EAT HERE! Worked for not even 2 months at this location and it is DISGUSTING! Nothing gets TEMED the aprons are all greased up it's putrid. Got let go because I didn't want to put it on.. we work at a fast food place I should be able to grab from clean ones!!! Everything is either prepared for the next day and all the taco shells get done that morning, they then sit at the top of the chrome fixture to prevent dust and stuff from geting into them. We have been going to this Taco Time location since it opened, especially during Covid. Tonight was the worst experience we've had. We were given the wrong Change. Then half our order was not in the bag. They disappeared & we had trouble getting anyone's attention. Our missing items were on the shelf. Mexifries appeared to not be a large size as we'd ordered & they were cold as was most of the food in our order. Asked for hot sauce & she tried to hand me containers that were covered in hot sauce on the outside. Very disappointed in the service & quality of the food. read more

I asked for refund which they said they couldn't give because there was no manager on-site. Left without my money or any food. I'll be contesting the charge with my credit card company. I love Taco Time. I've been going since I was a little kid. It's one of the only fast food restaurants I go to. But I feel compelled to write a review. This location gets my order wrong Every.Single.Time. It's getting to be comical. I've been about 25 times since it opened. I've generally only ordering one item and sometimes a kid meal. They have forgotten to give me my drink, taco, hot sauce, ketchup, fork, napkins. Forgot the toy in the kids meal too. Today I got tacos and there was no lettuce or tomato. Why? I even went inside thinking I would get better service. After them forgetting the hot sauce twice, the next time I literally asked THREE times for it. I even said "are you sure the hot sauce is in the bag?" The answer was yes, but guess what, no hot sauce. Of all the other locations I've been too, I've never once had a problem with my order. Positive experience every time I go here. They are about as healthy as you can get when it comes to "fast food." I would recommend the fit-hit bowl. People complain about the price. It's 7-9 dollars for a lunch. That is standard these days. If you want cheaper, then make your own damn food. Lazy and whiny. Stop. The staff is always super friendly. Regardless of it is just you or a big line, they are quick and communicative. They are short staffed currently and still whip up your fresh order right in front of you. I don't know if the management or ownership changed, but this location is garbage now. I got a natural soft taco and the tortilla is literally crunchy. It's supposed to be soft but it is breaking apart in my hands! Add to that the rude worker who told me that now that the workers have to fill the hot sauce to go containers themselves, they limit how many you can get. I've been getting 4 every time I go for years, until today when I was rudely told I could have 3 but not 4. I am going to call the manager, but doubt I'll get anywhere. I've been going to this Taco Time since they opened (they're only a couple miles away from my house), and feel bad having to write a negative review (I've been eating at Taco Times since growing up in the 1970s in Yakima. I'm a loyalist.). But it's pretty clear to me that the franchise owner for this particular store needs to find a new line of work. Main issues I see: - Understaffing: There're rarely more than 2 or 3 people working, and frequently it's only been 2. Once I saw 4 and was shocked they had that many people behind the counter. Which leads to... - High turnover: I go frequently enough to recognize faces, and have watched the turnover here be much higher than other restaurants I frequent. - Restaurant cleanliness: it's the bare minimum here. Went last night and didn't enjoy the "sour mop" smell. Just because a table is wiped down doesn't mean it's clean. Too often the tables are kinda sticky. - Food quality: Generally it's been ok, not great. Last night there were only a couple chips in my "bag of chips" and the chicken in the soup seemed tough and overcooked or...something. I enjoy their chicken tacos, which are generally a safe bet. Other than that, it's a crapshoot. For a long time the crustos were delivered with only a few grains of sugar/cinnamon, so not so much a crusto as a piece of fried tortilla that aspires to being a crusto. I don't blame the employees, I don't think it's their fault. I think the franchise owner is either absent or incredibly bad at managing a restaurant. Taco Time Corporate: Why do you let this continue? The number of negative reviews on Yelp alone should be a wake up call. Surely you have quality standards set out in your franchise agreement. I love taco time. The company and the food. This location is trash. They must only hire the worst employees they can find. The management must also be terrible. At least as it concerns hiring.. Turnover must be constant here. Never the same poeple twice.. Though I will add that I go out of my way to to avoid the consistent disappointment of it. Today I was really hungry and short of time. Why is this Taco Time always lower quality than the others in the area?! I generally love Taco Time and am a regular but this location is worth avoiding. The service is poor with my standard order getting messed up routinely. The soda machine is either not working or out of syrup for more than 1/2 the flavors. Worst Taco Time I've ever been to. Example of most recent experience: I walk up to counter, wait ten mins without even being acknowledged, all the cars in drive thru are in the red (I see 10 min wait times on their screen), the back line is filthy. FINALLY I'm helped, I order a pinto bean casita burrito from A rude employee then sit down without a number. Another ten mins go by and the employee comes out with my order in a To-go container although I mentioned I'm eating for here. My chips fall off the tray, he steps on them, puts them back on the tray, then wanders around the lobby (I'm the only one without food but he doesn't ask me if it's mine). I tel him I think it's mine and ask "pinto bean casita?" He says "no, this is beef" then plops it in front of a confused customer who tells them he didn't order that. The employee comes back to me, puts the tray in front of me and tells me I ordered beef. We argue for a bit, until another employee verifies that I ordered bean and they made it bean.
