    Happy hour menu

Hidden gem in Seattle (northgate) area. I loved everything that ordered. We were little late for happ hour. But we definitely will come back. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Friendly staff and cute place too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking maybe a little hard to find cause it behind the apartment complex. But their food was good.

When I was younger, my family used to go to this corner Mexican spot every Friday, for birthdays, casual lunch's or just for good food. It was even my sisters first job at this place. This restaurant was our home they were apart of the family. Jalisco Mexican restaurant is exactly the same feel as a grew up. They are warm, welcoming and the sweetest people. You walk in, they know you by name, they make jokes and you're already laughing by the time you hit the table. Besides the amazing customer service, the food is delicious and big portions and the drinks are on point. To say this is our place we got to every week is an understatement. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you want a fun time and to always feel like your family, come to Jalisco.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We got the cheese enchilada, chicken mole enchilada, and carne asada and even had the nachos. Everything is amazing.

I'm not a big fan of Mexican food, and don't have much Mexican food experience so this is just my very subjective view. I had beef carne asada. It came with four pieces of tortillas. Rice was good, it's seasoned but was bit pale to me. Beef flank tasted good too, it's savory. I ended up wrapping the green onion with beef, it's so perfect. The grilled green onion was sweet and its fragrant added extra flavor to the beef.I don't like beans so I only had two bites. The portion was huge.

My friend picked this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. My gf ordered the most recommended carne asada, my friend got the beef fajitas and I got the pollo en la crema. Carne asada is muy delicioso. Beef fajitas is above average. But the pollo en la crema is not what I expected, it was not that creamy and the chicken breast was not tender enough. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, love the vibe and the holiday decoration of this restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Worth a try!

We love this place, and it's our daughters favorite. Our family usually celebrates everyone's birthday here because they make it extra special (sombrero, dessert and song). We always capture an 'embarrassing' photo for the kids ha! It's similar to Red Robin's where it's not the best we've ever had, but it's still really good; and very reasonable. It's a cozy restaurant with low staff turnover. We've seen the same servers for about 7 years now. They are consistent with their delivery and staff are extremely friendly; great with kiddos! Friday nights are usually busy, yet the food arrived quickly! I'm watching my weight, but enjoyed the skinny margarita, and dish with grilled Chicken breast, pinto beans, grilled veggies and rice. It was super satiating and way too much food for one person!

    MT's family Birthday Celebration

Six members of our family group celebrated a birthday at Jalisco. While the food was quite average, the hospitality was outstanding. Menu prices were moderate and portions huge! Our birthday celebrant received a yummy ice cream sundae dessert in a taco bowl with a lit candle and multiple spoons to share as this dessert was smothered in whipped cream and caramel and chocolate sauces. Even the fried shell drenched with the fillings was delicious. Along with this complementary BD treat, the staff gathered to sing the birthday song; all very festive. Margaritas ordered with our brunch were traditional and also a fresh fruit version. [[HIGHLIGHT]]On-street parking was ample at the time we dined and the restaurant was not crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Every member of our family group enjoyed the event, the establishment's attention and graciousness and one anothers company.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And that's what it's really all about!

Simple and to the point "go to" spot. Service is good, and their enchiladas have my heart. Good Northgate staple.

Great Mexican restaurant located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood in Seattle…read more Freshly made chips that come with a salsa roja that has a kick to it. Not bland like in other places. The ceviche was fresh and loved that they added shredded carrots for extra crunchiness. Tacos de carne were delicious, with the meat properly seasoned. I shared the mole enchiladas and lengua en salsa verde from this Mexican place…read more Of these, the lengua en salsa verde was my favorite. The beef tongue was cooked pretty well. Although it's naturally very fatty, the flavor and juiciness was retained after cooking - so they didn't screw it up. The salsa verde was a very nice accompaniment, as it tasted light, fresh, and a good complement to the fat of the meat. The mole enchiladas were less good. The mole sauce used leaned way too heavily on a sweet flavor - having little to no nuttiness whatsoever. It didn't taste anywhere close to some of the best moles I've had. The enchilada underneath was fine - nothing special. Both dishes came with beans and rice. Both were slightly above average, but nothing to write home about. I would say the portions were well sized in terms of overall amount, but the enchiladas were quite small compared to the beans and rice. With these two dishes we ended up around 28 per person. Overall, it's average Mexican food. 6.5/10

(those burritos are massive omg.) the mole enchiladas were SOOO good, as were the cashew poblano enchiladas. their sauces are so yummy and the presentation was on-point for both enchiladas. i also had a bite of my friend's carne en morita which is a slow cooked pork dish, and i was obsessed. the only thing i'd say to pass on would be the tacos. drinks were also great and had amazing presentation. i was very satisfied with my carajillo and my friend's passion fruit mojito was also very tasty (you could NOT taste the alc in it i swear) overall, koko's is a great spot if you're looking to dress up for a cute night out but also craving some tasty mexican food.

However, I just found out you can put your self on the waitlist on their website if it's busy. Sundays are the best days to go as it's not as busy and they were able to accommodate a big party. The restaurant also has a parking lot for people to park at as well, so that is a plus! The drink menu is very limited, they don't have a full bar. I ordered the skinny margarita and it was good. The food is authentic and if you are looking for authentic Mexican food, D'La Santa is the spot. We ordered the queso and the rajitas. Both appetizers are really good, came out super hot. Highly recommend. I got the carne asada plate and added an extra mini quesadilla. The carne is very seasoned so you have to eat it with the tortilla to balance out the saltiness. The service was fast and our waiter was very attentive.

We went on a Sunday and I was really hoping to try the tiramisu and bone marrow, but they weren't available at the date and time we went (shed a tear). Still, what we ordered completely made up for it. We had the torta ahogada, costillita en salsa roja, and moyetes dulces and I was honestly blown away. They absolutely nailed the tortas ahogadas. So many of our regular spots had lines out the door, which was no surprise, but we ended up getting a table here. Figured Mexican food is hard to mess up. Started with drinks- THE BEST MARGARITA I HAVE EVER HAD. It was perfectly balanced, fresh, just perfect to me. My fiance got a horchata and loved it too. They have an option where you can try ALL of their dips for $20, which I couldn't resist. It was so fun, they had like 9 different ones! I got the shrimp tacos and they were so flavorful that I almost gasped. The creamy sauce, crunchy veggie toppers, smooth avocado, and perfectly cooked shrimp...just wow. I will be dreaming about this dish for years to come. I am a pescatarian and gluten free and there were TONS of options for me. They mostly use corn for everything, not flour. The staff was gracious and kind. They seemed a little understaffed but truly made the most of it and made every table feel attended to and special, which was so lovely. Really cool vibe- lots of art and special touches. A really cool place that I can't wait to recommend to friends.

I was disappointed to…read moresee that the menu has changed a lot (and not just seasonally, but just a completely different menu) since the last time I visited (maybe a year ago or so). Before it seemed like Maiz Molino was focusing on elevated, unique Mexican dishes (shown in the pics in my prior review such as short rib, and other sort of "fusion" dishes, and more seafood focused, etc.) Now, the menu seems way more generic and casual like enchiladas, tacos, quesadillas, tamales, etc. just offered w/ different proteins. They are still focusing on maiz but just a bit more generic in the preparation and offerings. Also, they had 2 separate menus which was a bit confusing. One is a generic all day menu and then another menu had brunch and dinner on it. It was around 5:30 p.m. but they were out of a particular steak dish that we were interested in. Service was friendly. We had enchiladas, a dip sampler (for appetizer) and Tlacoyos. Everything was fine but nothing really stood out, sadly. It wasn't very busy while we were there, so hoping that they are doing ok as a business. I would love to come back if they brought back the old menu w/ things that you cannot really find elsewhere, including the great cocktail menu and desserts that were offered previously.
