People have been recommending this taco truck to me for quite some time, and I am happy I finally stopped by for a midnight snack. After coming home late from a day long wedding, we were craving some authentic tacos. It was no surprise that there was already a line of like-minded hungry people. We ordered some Lengua (tongue) tacos , and a Lengua burrito. Also, my girlfriend ordered a mulita a sort of beef quesadilla, but with taco shells) Needless to say, everything was pertfect! I love this place and make sure we stop here whenever we have business in LA. It's worth the drive! The chicken burrito is delicious, but they expect you to add some salsa, so the meat is not in a juicy mix. This keeps your burrito from getting soggy. We started going to this Taco Truck when we lived downtown and now that we've moved back the the Valley, we still trek down here whenever we need our taco fix! The tacos are awesome...the meat is very flavorful but for me its the tortillas. I've had corn tortillas at many of the taco trucks and most of them are pretty basic; they heat them up on the grill and then add the meat. But here, they slightly fry the corn tortillas with butter/oil (??) before applying the meat. It sounds inconsequential, but whatever it is that they do, it adds just the right amount of flavor and crisp! Plus to top it off the salsas are great! As for Vegetarians, our daughter is a vegetarian and she always gets the cheese quesadilla. YES, there is a lot of cheese, but hey that's what makes them taste so yummy! There can be long lines with everyone from Silverlake/Los Feliz, but its totally worth it! read more

Seen this place buzzing with business every time I went to Von's and always wanted to give it a try. Finally was able to...I ordered 4 tacos pastor. This place has great condiments but meat was very dry. I ate here before reading reviews to have an unbiased review....and don't think ill be coming back. Should have known with all the hipsters here. Best tacos??? No way... I've been eating tacos for over 20 years and even though King taco isn't the best...their tacos are better. Lots of Hypsters but the tacos were amazing, I consider myself a taco snob since I tried so many in East LA and Tijuana. Suadero and Buche (doratitos) were my favorite, the pico de gallo is nice and spicy the way it should be. I'm a resident of Eagle Rock, and thus might venture to say that I know a thing or two as far as taco trucks go. So when I want a taco, I go all the way to Echo Park for my favored Taco Zone--carnitas so juicy it drips down your chin and guacamole salsa that triggers ecstatic experiences. This is the best chicken taco I have had in LA. Pretty much all I get at taco trucks are chicken tacos, and I am addict to Taco Zone. The spices they use on the chicken make it taste really good. They have a few salsa, which are decent, not great. Also like that it is easy to park over there because you just park in the Vons lot and there is always room. The prices are $1.25 for a taco, pretty standard. The only problem is the truck is only there at night-til-late night. Wish I could get those tacos during the day, but oh well. After visiting several taco trucks and restaurants I can say that (so far) for me and my wife this is the best in Los Angeles. I don't claim any empirical reasoning, just a matter of taste. And I'm still trying as many different places as I can. But so far this is as good as it gets. The only problem is that they don't show up until like 9 PM so if yr hungry at dinner you have to sort of hold out for it, but it's totally worth it. I've tried a number of things but the Pastor burrito is my favorite while my wife swears by their bean and cheese burrito, oh and the pinkish red sauce is absolutely essential. read more

Breaking News - Vegetarian friendly!! I forgot to tell you that one of their MOST popular items are the veggie tacos! I love the quesadillas and the veggie tacos. I'm not too keen on the hard core mystery meat stuff (tripas, cabeza, lengua, suadero), but i love me some steak tacos. The salsas are fresh and one of my favorite is a diced cabbage and cucumber side they offer for free. And of course the avocado salsa too - mmmm I'm dreaming of those rockin ALVARADO+Avocado= Alvacado Tacos! The first time I tried tacos I knew I was hooked. I eat tacos so much, my coworker used to call me mr. taco (after she watched me eat tacos for lunch an entire week). Not only this, but when I finally went to Mexico, all I ate was tacos from different restaurants. I think its safe I'm on a quest to find the most delicious tacos. Best part about moving from the Hollywood Hills to Echo Park is having the Taco Zone nearby and open late. Suadero (brisket) mulita with the guacamole salsa and pico de gallo. The women that run this truck rotate but the enthusiasm for the cooking and service are always present. read more
