Happy Tacos is an amazing late night spot that really delivers. They stay open super late and have some of the friendliest people you could ever meet. You can tell they genuinely care about the food they serve. I ordered a carne asada quesadilla and it was incredible, hot, flavorful, and exactly what I needed after a long night. They have a bunch of sauce options too and I recommend the chipotle one. They also have another sauce with chicharron in it if you want to try something different. It is a small stand but the quality is top tier and the people running it make the experience even better. Carne asada fries was a smaller portion that what I'm used to but it packs in so much flavor. The cheese was melted, onions and cilantro were mixed in well, the steak was nicely cut and browned. not the typical huge glob of guacamole and huge glob of sour cream. Very tasty and it was enough to satiate my hunger. The lemonade and the horchata were delicious. I ate the burrito the next day. It was good but not worth commenting on since it wasn't fresh. They have a spicy habanero that has my nose runny as I type this. They have a never before seen chicharron salsa and even a radish salsa. The meats are quality. Great food, great service . Marisol and Salvador provide a quick and easy experience. With a variety of salsas to choose from what can go wrong. But decided to go with simple orders of asada tacos, asada burrito and asada mulita. It was on the salty side for all the items ordered. The red chili oil was too oily for me and it wasn't as spicy as they stated and didn't have much flavor. Green sauce was ok not spicy at all. The yellow sauce has a good flavor. I asked for extra cilantro and onions for my meat with fries and they really piled it on. They have sour cream too, if you ask for it. The business itself is a pop up stand that opens in the evenings in the heart of echo park.
