Happy tacos

Woooow. If you haven't stopped by this place in echo park you are missing out. To start off the salsa menu is the most exotic street tacos selection. They have a spicy habanero that has my nose runny as I type this. They have a never before seen chicharron salsa and even a radish salsa. The meats are quality. The service is amazing the couple running this place are very friendly. Very convenient set up and location. Definitely check it out.

Burrito and fries

LOCAL taco spot -- Husband and Wife team. There's so many taco places to choose from, but this one has a lot of heart. It's literally on the street and mostly locals come here. I got a CARNE ASADA burrito -- which was HUGE and tasty - it lasted me 2 meals. What's cool is that you could add your condiments before he closes the burrito - nice touch My husband is vegetarian and he got a VEGGIE burrito - it's not on the menu but you can get it. They are happy to customize it for you. FRIES - the side of fries large order and what you expect when you crave that salty treat. FLAN CAKE combo -- so his Mom makes this homemade treat -- I haven't seen this type of combo before -- but it was YUM -- MUST TRY They also have a churro cheese cake that will try for next time! We got this all TO-GO, but you could eat in there if you want. There's a few small table and chairs and even a sink on the side. SERVICE: A+ PARKING - street meter, or residential nearby. There's a lot right near them but it's technically for the liquor store, massage, donuts - etc.

3 Taco Combo Plus a drink

First timer here! The taco combo was a perfect amount for two. Great amount of meat inside each taco and even stayed clean/upright in our 10 car drive. 3 tacos, rice, bean AND A DRINK?! Yes please. The two people working were so friendly and helpful when we were ordering. They walked us through what they had, what went in taco and allllll the hot sauces they had off to the side. Overall: 10/10 experience and would definitely comeback. PLUS they are open till late sooo late night taco runs-- yes?!

Asada Burrito

Came to try this taco place out because it was recommended friends this place was super yum. There was a lot of items on the menu. But decided to go with simple orders of asada tacos, asada burrito and asada mulita. It was on the salty side for all the items ordered. The red chili oil was too oily for me and it wasn't as spicy as they stated and didn't have much flavor. Green sauce was ok not spicy at all. The yellow sauce has a good flavor. Service was quick and the taco stand smelled delicious!

Holy guacamole!!! Found this at doordash. I ordered two of the fries with meat, I got asada of course. Also three tacos. My goodness, huge portions! One order of the asada fries could have fed us. Plus soooo much meat, so much flavor, the cheese sauce, was everything!

Some of the best street tacos in all of LA. Homemade desserts. Friendly, family-owned business.

I got the Billa platter with chicken, asada, chorizo, & the weekend special barbacoa. They were all great and it was probably too much food for me with all the cheese, meat, and guac. My favorite was definitely the pollo, the flavor was amazing and was one of ghe best chicken tacos I've ever had. The chorizo was also good, as it had the potatoes mixed in. The steak was solid, but it tasted too similar to the chorizo to me so it was hard for me to differentiate. The barbacoa was good but I wish the meat was a little more tender. Overall, I was not disappointed and will definitely be back for the chicken queso tacos!

I got the combo plate and it was a good variety, I'd probably get that combo again. Line can be long and have a wait but it's worth it!! Parking can be tough and seating can be difficult as well. Their salsas are really good and so is their agua frescas. Ordering in the store is small, so the ambiance is well kept and clean but space is limited. They do have a good organized system though, so they make it work.

I've been meaning to try the other items on their menu, but it was so good the first time that I had to order it again. The portions are *very* generous, and they had the usual sides readily available on the side: lemons, cucumbers, sliced radish, grilled onions and peppers, etc. Also had a bite of their corn quesadilla... the tortilla was soooo good. They had the masa on the side and were making the tortillas fresh and by hand. Yum. Payment: - They take Apple pay! :) Parking: - We found street parking nearby thankfully, but it might be hard to find in general due to the area. Seating: - They have seating to the left of their grill (tables, folding chairs, a tarp overhead). Depending on the time of day, sometimes the shade doesn't quite cover your face--the sun was setting and hitting us right in the eyes, so we switched sides to sit facing away from the sun once those seats were available.

Having been to so many taco stands, I think what makes Tire Shop Taqueria really stand out are the right-off-the-grill charcoal-grilled meats, the freshly made tortillas literally in front of you as you are waiting on line, and the free guacamole that comes with each taco. The ordering process is like any other taco stand, though one difference is here the salsas/guacamole are all handled by the staff. If you'd like more of something, just ask them instead of reaching for the ladle yourself. There is a separate area though for grilled onions/peppers and radishes you can serve yourself. I got the asada, chorizo, cabeza, and al pastor, and they were all so good. The asada and chorizo are specifically grilled over charcoal, and that flavor really shines through. I loved how meaty and tender the cabeza was too, and the classic al pastor hit the spot. They have large communal tables setup, so it is a great friendly vibe to enjoy your meal I will say, the surrounding area is not the best in LA, especially given how the taco stand is only open at night. The parking lot is quite small, so I parked on a side street that had some abandoned cars, but of course, if you are in/from LA, this is not that new for us. I would hesitate if I am a tourist though to make it out here. Anyhow, the food really is worth it here, and I can't wait to be back!

We found easy street parking in the neighborhood on 41st Street, and waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. We ordered the asada tacos. They pre-sauce your tacos, which was fine by me, but my boyfriend who can't handle as much spice would've preferred it on the side (so warning for anyone similar! they do put a little habanero on them, so just ask them for salsa on the side). I think I ran into a problem of reading too many raving reviews -- these tacos were good but I was expecting them to be mind blowing, so I was a little disappointed. I tasted the charcoal char, but kind of wished the taste was more pronounced, or at least the meat more seasoned. The hand made tortillas were definitely the coolest part, but I thought they were a little dry too. The ladies whipping those out are artists though. Actually, all the workers here have the assembly line down to the tea, and they definitely add a little flare for a show. I particularly liked how they had a lot of seating at this location, instead of just a couple stools lying around like most taco trucks. It felt more like outdoor patio seating than a normal taco stand. They could probably take more time to wipe down tables more often though. Overall would visit again if in the area, but wouldn't go out of my way for the tacos here.

We ordered just a couple tacos - one asada and one tripa, based on reading numerous recommendations that those are what to get here. $3.50 a taco which is not bad for a restaurant taco. It's a cool casual vibe here. Seating inside as well as the patio. They have tasty looking horchata and other agua frescas. Colorful walls. They bring your food out to you by calling your name. The tacos were loaded with a pretty decent amount of meat and toppings. But sadly we were far from impressed by the flavor. The asada was okay and better than the tripa, but it paled in comparison to our go-to taco trucks in the area which only costs $1. And the tripa was strange to eat in taco form. The tripa is crunchy small pieces so it just feels odd to eat in a taco. Maybe if it was just served as an appetizer to eat by itself, but even then, it kinda just feels like you're eating pellets. Don't see the hype unfortunately.
