Took my 16-year-old niece who is a fanatic of Chipotle restaurant and she loved this place. She actually said they were better than Chipotle and that was hard for her to say because that's one of her favorite places. Plus she's an incredibly tough critic. So I'm VERY happy to give this a 5 stars, but this is for sure not a 6 star; as in, I don't think it's worth the trek to Crown Heights, but it is quite good and better than Chipotle. It's the same price (if not cheaper, ~$11 for my Tofu burrito) with better sauces (they've got some cremas and chipotle mayo sauce, which is electric) and a great vegetarian protein I'd say. Their tofu is better than Sofritas, no doubt. The space was pretty filled this Friday evening, but that's a great thing; we still got seating and the service was quick. Again, it's better than Chipotle but it's not out-of-this-world better, so it's not a place I would travel to get to again, but if I was around and was craving a nice FILLING meal, this is a great option. read more

This place is pretty close to one of my favorite spots, Munchies. The layout is similar to a Chipotle. You order the food and it's put together assembly line style. Quite efficient. I ordered a few tacos and found them to be a little bland, but I'm told the quesadilla is way better. So I may stop by for another chance. read more

I usually pass up on chipotle so any chipotle variations I tend to not even give them a try until one hungry drunk night I had a blind taste and was blown away. Think chipotle but not as expensive. A regular bowl with all the toppings from here would probably be what chipotle charges double for. My absolute favorite meal to get is the chicken quesadilla. Not sure what to say but they have some slick sauces and options here. It's like a step up from a chipotle. Loved the spicy honey chicken (might be a different name can't remember) their mango sauce was bomb in a best kind of way. Also loved their cilantro sauce and chipotle sauce. Their steak burrito was solid. And they have an ok guac and chips. Service was rough but they also freebied one of our items because they are training people and it was hard. So I give it a 4. Notes, turn down the music. I couldn't hear the chef and they were not native English speaker so lots of repeating myself. 2nd the menu has animations that make it so you can't see the options. Hmm how do I put this.. If you like chipotle then you'll die for tacobees. At first I thought I was the only one who felt this way, this was until a taxi driver came in and said he lives in jersey but always stops in Brooklyn just for tacobees. The interior itself is spacious with plenty of room to sit if you decide to dine in. They also have almost every flavor of Jaritto in existence so there are plenty of beverage options available. There is a kiosk where you can place your order but you can also do it the traditional way by telling someone behind the counter. It's great to mention that the staff is super friendly and always engaging. You want to know about the food right lol. First off the venue is 100% Halal. They offer bowls, soft and hard shell tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos along with chips and quac. All banging!!! I've tried every single thing and it's delicious. What separates them from the rest are the amount of toppings and combinations of sauces available. My favorite? The soft shell tacos with shrimp, queso, corn salsa, chipotle sauce and sour cream... It was my first time and this guy (I think his name was Moda) walked me through the menu and let me try a couple of the options in my bowl like a "sampler". I ended up with the honey chipotle chicken and shredded chicken it was amazinggg! The chipotle sauce/mango verde/cilantro sauces were crazyyyyy. I will definitely be back!!!! Been hoping for a place like this in the neighborhood! Just stopped in for a burrito bowl for the first time and it hit the spot. Chicken was well cooked and tasty, cilantro lime rice could've had a bit more flavor, toppings were tasty. Honestly not a huge difference from Chipotle when it comes to the overall bowl (not a bad thing !!) but the portion sizes are much better (def a good thing). They've got a good sauce selection and the sweet mango was great. Overall really happy with my food - was a little over $12 all said and done. Workers were helpful and kind. Would like to come back and sit inside - nice clean, bright space that doesn't feel pretentious. Bring back casual dining areas!! read more

Had high hopes, and they severely underdelivered. $26.10 for two orders of tacos, one order hard shells, with the honey chicken, the other soft shells, with shrimp. I didn't taste the hard shells, but the chicken looked delicious, and the portion size of chicken looked good. The fact that each base starts at $9.99, the chicken was $1 extra, the shrimp was $3 extra. The shrimp looked great, which is why I chose it instead of the honey chicken, coupled with they had just brought out some freshly cooked shrimp. Here's the major issue: why are you counting shrimp, 3-4 per taco? I think he scooped out 5 for the first taco, and proceeded to take one off and put it on the next taco. When I finally got to eat the tacos, there wasn't even 1 shrimp per bite. One taco had 4, the second had 3, and the last tasted like it may have had 4, but probably had 3. Add that there aren't enough choices for toppings (it said pick 8, and seemed like there were only 8 to choose from, not including the guac which costs extra). When it was time to pay, the guy who made my orders took the money wearing the same gloves that he just made the food while wearing. That's not sanitary at all, and I hope he had changed his gloves before making our food, especially since he touched the tacos. It wasn't too busy, and the space wasn't crowded, but I've seen it hella crowded before. $26.10 for good, not great (out of a package, saw him refill the soft tacos out of a package) tacos, and no beverages, I'll probably look elsewhere next time. read more

I always love coming to Tacobees! The employees at this location always remember me and are always so friendly. The food is fresh and the service is quick. I usually get a salad bowl with steak. The portion sizes are huge. It is more expensive than fast casual places maybe *should* be, but in NYC that is just how it goes. Highly recommend the Spicy Guacamole or Habanero sauce with your dish if you're looking for a real kick. read more

Excellent quality and flavorful Halal chipotle-like menu. The toppings and sauces come in spicy and non-spicy version. The meat is all flavored and cut to the perfect size for eating in store or on the go. For a small additional charge, you can mix the meats or get extra meat. I think it was just a dollar extra but can't remember. Staff is very friendly and helpful in making suggestions if it's your first time there like it was for me I got a rice bowl and I could not even finish the entire thing in one sitting. There is a decent amount of seating for a spot in Brooklyn.
