Where do I begin. I walked into this place expecting great things - it looked nice and it was a Wednesday afternoon for lunch - what could possibly go wrong? I walked up to the hostess and opted to sit in the restaurant vs. outdoors. I sat down at the table and was immediately struck by the giant...that's not big enough...GIANT...screens playing all sorts of music videos. That was ok. Kind of cool in a way - again, it's lunch time on a Wednesday. The waitress was super nice and helpful and explained that there were no paper menus and all orders were taken on the tablet at the table. Ok, it's 2024 - fine. In reviewing the menu I see there's no way to edit an order - I can't remove things or add things. The waitress handles that for me - after I ordered my food on the tablet. I ordered the queso fundido with chorizo as an app and I ordered the taco rib eye. The good - the chorizo in the queso fundido was really good! The cheese was SUPER thick but overall it wasn't too bad of an appetizer. The bad - the taco rib eye left ALOT to be desired. I'm not entirely sure what I thought I was ordering when I chose this but what came out was unexpected. Literally this was a tiny, thin rib eye steak, no seasoning - whole, on two of the tiniest corn tortillas I've ever seen. I thought when I saw this I was maybe being punked. I left onions off. That's it. Onions. Was it edible? Yes. Would I get this again? Absolutely not! My biggest issue with this place wasn't the food or the service - it was those giant screens playing videos. Some of the videos were ok. Others not so much. One in particular left me feeling like I needed a shower after it went off - very NSFW. For a public restaurant to play this AT LUNCHTIME, felt off to me. I'm not from Miami, but if I come back - I'm gonna pass on this place. Went to Tacology a few weeks ago and I truly loved it. I have heard about the inconsistency of the food and service but I'm so glad that I went on a good day. Victor was super on point, he explained how all worked in 30 seconds and there we went. The whole thing of ordering your stuff with your iPad is awesome, I loved it. The food was super good, we ordered the guacamole with chips #delicious and mushrooms tacos with white cheese! #excellent The only thing that I was not crazy about Tacology is that it was way too hot outside even though they had those clear covers all around but it was uncomfortable. they should really do something about it. Trulucks in Brickell does it and so Smith and Wollensky on the south point but other that that it was awesome!!! read more

So I came again and I would rate it a 3. The food is good but I feel that my friend and I were rushed when ordering, eating, etc. The waitress was nice and everything but the food when we got it was cold, and it all came out at the same time, meaning that it's all pre-made. I find the concept here exciting and interesting. It's Mercado style dining. There are sort of "stations" around the restaurant where different foods are prepared; an area for tacos, an area for ceviche, for desserts, etc. This means that you likely won't get all of your food out at once, together, but as it's prepared. The decor is so vibrant, paying homage to Frida Kahlo on one wall. I adored that. You can watch the chefs preparing food everywhere. If you get bored here, that's your problem! I got a Paloma-like drink with a black salt rim. Oh. My. Gosh. Can I bathe in this? I got a chilled avocado soup and my mom got a beef one. They were both incredibly flavorful. We split street corn that was accompanied by several types of mayo-like spreads, but we weren't impressed. It was overpriced, tough, and lacking flavor. I have a soft spot for chilaquiles, and wow, what a generous helping I was served. Too many tortillas, in my opinion, but there was plenty of chicken. We had tacos last, since they were supposed to be the stars of the show. Well, we found them mediocre. What I found great here was TRULY great, so I just won't order the corn or the tacos al pastor again, but the menu was extensive, the decor was on point, the food is plated beautifully, so I'll be back. read more

This taco spot exceeded my expectations!! Ever since BCC has opened up, I've wanted to try this place. The reviews and pictures that I had seen over the past couple months have had me sold and I finally got the chance to check it out. First of all let me start off by the fact that the place is beautiful! All the decor on the walls, the lighting, the seating, the huge plasma TVs, the music. Everything! The way you order your food is through an iPad that is placed on the table which is convenient because you add things to your order whenever you want. We started with the gauc tasting which comes with three different types: regular, seasonal that comes with pomegranate & pumpkin seeds and the one with quinoa. The one with quinoa was my favorite because it came with roasted corn. I ordered the two chicken tacos in a shooter cup that was dipped in an avocado sauce. My friend ordered the gringa quesadilla which is basically like an al pastor taco in a quesadilla form. Both dishes were super delicious and flavorful. We also each ordered a specialty drink called "La Catrina". I'd like to compare it to a coquito. It was pretty strong but a bit sweet, and the presentation is beautiful, I wanted to keep the cup! Overall, my experience exceeded what I was expecting and I will definitely be back to try their other speciality drinks and tacos! read more

I write this review after being in this restaurant a couple of times. The atmosphere is fun, lively and they always play great music. The food is good but nothing special. It is not a place to get authentic mezican cuisine, it is more of a social place to meet with your friends or family and grab something to eat. The food comes out at a reasonable time and the drinks do too. We ordered the margarita pitcher and had to return it, the individual orders of margaritas are tastier and better overall. The reason why I am giving it 1 star is because during my last visit we had a unpleasant experience thanks to the manager who was there. I was with a group of friends and we were having a good time eating and ordering drinks. I noticed this man kept looking at our table for a while. Shortly after our waitress (who was awesome and unfortunately put in a bad situation because she was following orders) approached us and asked us if we were planning on ordering more food or drinks because "it had been a while" and they needed to turn over the table. I could tell the waitress was very uncomfortable telling us this. In reality we were about to order more drinks but that left us feeling rushed and not welcomed so instead we decided to leave. We went to the restaurant right in front and continued our night where we didn't feel rushed. One of my friends talked to the manager (who was the man watching our table that I mentioned at the beginning) and explained how that turned everything into a bad experience. I refuse to return to a restaurant where I feel rushed to eat and drink. A positive experience is more than just the drinks and food, it also includes feeling welcomed and not have someone looking at your table to see if you sre finished for half the time you are there. read more

The food here is pretty good but the plates are very small so be prepared to spend $25-$30 for lunch without drinks or dessert. The Kale salad and the Queso Fundido appetizer were excellent!! About three of my coworkers had the tuna tacos & loved them. I had the special ribeye tacos and was underwhelmed but I will be back for the Kale salad, the Queso Fundido, the tuna tacos and the chicharron!! I must say that everyone enjoyed their food. Check out my pictures to see what we ordered. You order on an ipad. I couldn't find the dish that I wanted on the ipad but the waiter found it quickly. While I found it painful ordering on the ipad, your food comes quickly, which is a huge plus!! Tacology is a Mexican restaurant located on the 3rd floor of Brickell City Center. The atmosphere is unique and vibrant - great for pictures! The food is absolutely delicious BUT the portions are extremely small - so we order several dishes. To share, we start with the guacamole tasting - which includes 3 different types of guacamole with a side of tortilla chips. Our go-to entrees are the Shrimp, Alambre, and Al Pastor tacos. These three tacos are absolutely mouth watering! For dessert, we usually share the Ice cream cookie sampler, which includes 2 chocolate cookies with chocolate ice cream and 2 chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream!! Divine!! La Catrina drink is my go-to drink every single time I come here - a must if you like coquito! The service overall is good - there are days where the attention is phenomenal and other days where the attention is poor. I guess it's just luck on who your waiter/waitress is. In summary, Tacology is a great spot to go to with friends and enjoy good quality food. The environment is lively and full of life! So ladyfriend and I were touristing at Brickell City Center and hungry from all of the window shopping. She noticed the colorful patio on the fourth floor, I was fiending mexican food so we decided to make it our dining destination. She's a little more dedicated to her fitness than yours truly so she ordered a Nopales salad, minus the cactus. Filled with quinoa, chicken, black beans, and dwarf tomatoes the salad she let me sample was flavorful as well as light. Of course, I took out the stray piece of avocado that fell on my plate. My black bean & cotija cheese appetizer was a little lighter than the richer Cuban-style soup I'm used to but tasty nonetheless. My main was were (4) chicken al pastor tacos. These are yummy street-style tacos unlike what you get at tex-mex chains. The corn tortillas were warm, the chicken juicy and the pineapples tartly sweet. All of the ingredients were flavorful and well prepared. As far as spiking it up, their "medium" salsa still had plenty of kick! We shared their guava cheesecake, and to me it ranks as one of my favorites. The wood plate was well decorated with sprinkles of guava and marshmallow, and the pastry itself had plenty guava filling. Giannina was our pleasant waitress was attentive and regularly stopped to check on our table, even though orders are placed on ipads. This place is sooo fun I'm so glad we stopped in. Love the atmosphere and the outdoor seating area. Great vibes w fun music playing. We ordered on an iPad and our food was brought out very quickly. We had the ceviche trio and birria tacos which were so flavorful. The highlight for me were the DRINKS! Each cocktail was delicious and so well thought out with beautiful presentation. Visited for lunch, the place is located inside Brickell City Center mall on the last floor where all the restaurants and the cinema is. I was seated outside as it was nice, the fans were on, so not so hot and humid, but indoor space looks nice and authentic too. We had the Shrimp tacos (my favorite), octopus tacos, pork tacos and some guacamole with pomegranate, which was also really good. I asked if they can do frozen margarita and they did, Watermelon margarita was really good, not so strong and good watermelon taste. We came back three times in a week, visiting for spring break. Loved their system for ordering as you go. The Al pastor is my #1 fave! We tried the ribeye, pork belly, and barrias as well. All the tacos are packed full of flavor. Absolutely loved every bite. The cocktails were tasty too, just the right amount to get a good buzz. Service is friendly and inviting. I had a late lunch here with a friend. The decoration is great. Seating ok but the tables are so close to each other it's like being with strangers at your table. The iPad menu is just annoying. You can't really explore the menu by yourself, it's an awkward trying of all seeing the screen together. Please give me old school menus. At the end it was also confusing how to get the check. We were looking on the iPad but apparently you just have to call a waiter. The food came out very quickly. And it was really good. We ordered 4 different tostadas. They were all very good. Sizes are small. It's appetizer amounts rather than entree. So your bill ads up fast. read more

Pretty good food and drinks but overpriced, just like all the restaurants in the Brickell City Center. Ordering is done yourself on a tablet at your table, it's pretty easy. I don't like that they automatically add 18% tip when I'm doing half the work of the typical waitstaff. The "waiter" doesn't take your order or bring your food, they have runners doing most of that work. I hope the tips are shared equally with the runners. Also, be aware that the tip is added in the total. My waiter didn't give me the itemized order showing the added tip. It seemed he was hoping I would add another tip on the credit card receipt. Since I knew from previous visits the tip was already included I didn't fall for his scam. read more

Waited 20 minutes for a table- which wasn't a problem. The problem was when we sat down, it took 15 minutes for someone to finally greet us. When they did, it was our waiter asking for our order. We asked him a question about a menu item, he mumbled something, and walked away. We waited another 7 minutes for him to come back, but he never did. So we left. The whole place is set up so that u share tapas size portions. You order thru an iPad and the food and drinks comes to the table. I don't care for the concept but hey, they do have servers who can assist you Their queso fundido with chorizo is soo good you will end up ordering two of them! I had the pomegranate margarita and was very good too. The chilaquiles was a little soupy but tasty, the rock lobster tostada was delicious as their tacos costra: tacos al pastor with melted cheese on top). I don't think this place deserves a two and a half stars for a review. We came here for a quick drink and an app while waiting for our appointment at the Apple Store. We sat at the bar. The atmosphere of this restaurant was beautifully decorated and very lively. The bartenders were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our bartender didn't speak the best English but our order was sorted out none the less. We ordered two skull mug cocktails: one Horchata, one margarita (requested to be put in a skull mug). The Horchata was very milky and sweet. The margarita was pretty good- had a good amount of liquor. We also ordered the Aguacate al Grill, which was good. It just looked different from the pictures they show on their iPad menu (which should never be the case). This dish was basically a grilled avocado with sauce and smoky kale. The food is quite good here and so is the environment. Just find this place extremely overpriced for the miniature servings they offer. I understand they're in a high end strip mall, but things shouldn't be that overpriced. As for the food the tacos were very good. For the most part flavorful, but small. The tabletop ordering can get confusing as well. We had over ordered some food, which we assumed and did not make a big deal over. The reason I'm giving it a three star over four is the final bill. They include gratuity, but the waiter gives you a story as to why you should tip over the 20% that's been charged already. I just don't follow what the story was but I don't care for restaurants that hit you for gratuity and try to persuade you that it's really not gratuity. Just a service charge? We moved to Miami one year ago and live very close to many Mexican restaurants, Tacology by far is our favorite!!! We have many extremely close to us but choose to walk much farther for Tacology! The happy hour is great so take advantage of it. They have live DJ on Thursday. We love queso fundido with chorizo, chicharrones, tacos and their HUGE margaritas. Oh and let's not forget TACO TUESDAYS!!! Make sure you save some room for dessert, you will not believe how delicious!! We were celebrating my moms birthday and I wanted everything to be good, Sergio the manager made sure everything was perfect!! He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Hostess was kind of rude but the waiter was great. Food was expensive especially since none of it was very good. The nachos were made with movie theater sauce which was disappointing and they didn't add beans. The chilaquiles were dry and they forgot to add cheese. Like most other yelpers have said, this place is known for their amazing location in Brickell city center and open-air atmosphere and thats about it. I wouldn't advice going to this place on an empty stomach due to there small portion sizes. I got the mushroom tacos and they were okay, again nothing special for the price you pay. I did like the fact that they make their own home-made corn tortillas. The servers are not very attentive as we had to flag them down many times just to take our order or fill up waters. Probably would only go back to this place for drinks and appetizers not for a meal. read more
