The food was great! I have been wanting to come here for a long time. The parking had only 2 open spots. We got lucky. The burrito was a good size and the flavor of the food was great. We sat outside in the picnic area under the shade of umbrellas. They were playing Mexican music on the outdoor speakers. The service was fast. This was a super late lunch at 4 pm. I will definitely come back.

A friend told us to try this place out & I'm so glad we did! The pork taco was amazing and had so much flavor! The asada taco was pretty good as well. The salsas were awesome too, each taco was $4.95, on the pricier side in my opinion but I would say worth it! And they have plenty of drink options, I got the Guava Lime & it was great, not overly sweet. They have bar seating inside and large outdoor patio seating. Only downside is the parking but definitely will be back

This place is super cool and kinda nostalgic. It has a diner feel to it. They have a pretty good menu too! The guy at the register was very helpful and kind which always makes a place feel like a good choice. I ordered 2 asada tacos and a side of chips. My hubby orders the loaded fries. The tacos were almost $5 a piece which at first felt a little pricey but the tenderness of the meat was spectacular! It was seasoned well and the tacos come loaded with guacamole and salsa. The chips were fried fresh and top tier. The asada fries were good as well but next time he said he'd get nachos. The watermelon aqua Fresca was the chefs kiss!

Stopped in and ordered a carne asada street taco and an asada vampiro. The asada vampiro was the clear standout. The crispy shell with melted cheese took the same asada and elevated it, more texture, more flavor, and just more fun to eat. If I came back, this is what I'd order again without hesitation. The street taco was decent. The meat had a nice smoky flavor, but it didn't quite pop my cork. Some of that is personal preference -- I'm not a huge street-taco guy -- and some of it felt like it could've been a touch fresher off the grill. Not bad, just not a knockout. The restaurant had a great smoky aroma, and the salsa was solid. I'm usually a salsa-bar fan, but even with the small containers, the flavors were good and complemented the food well. Now, here's where they earned the bump: the service was excellent. Very friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, that kind of service matters and it shows. Also, small but funny detail: the Pepsi chairs instantly reminded me of the classic "No Coke, Pepsi" SNL skit....had to chuckle, but I think I was flying solo on with this joke. Food-wise, this was a 3.5 star experience, but the great service adds the extra half star.

Small restaurant with high counter top sitting only inside. Plenty of outdoor seating with umbrellas. The pastor was full of flavor, however the asada was average. Highly recommend the pastor!!

Great little taco place next to Wilson High School. Everything is good here. Parking is limited and most of the seating is outdoors. Usually get the carne asada quesadilla. The tacos are great here and the people are nice. Happy Yelping!

tacomasa catered @ a schools multicultural event and offered asada, pollo and al pastor tacos along with burrito options. The flavors were bold and fresh but i feel like i need to try more. The menu was basic but sufficient for this that type of event. However, what i did try has me craving for more. If you love guacamole, their sauce hands down the creamiest. So, if you are in the area of any of their locations, i would say try them out.

I like this spot! Super friendly and welcoming, our pup was greeted with a little treat the moment we walked in, and we were offered samples of any of the meats since it was our first time. We tried the asada steak, pollo asado chicken, and tripa tripe tacos. The meats and tortillas were both delicious. The tripe is fried rather than a menudo style, which is what I was expecting, but the different texture worked well. The salsa is also "not too spicy" according to their staff, but to me it was definitely a medium, so beware if your spice tolerance is low like mine! Patio is clean and inviting as well, a really nice place for lunch or an early dinner to catch the sunset.

Good food, good value. I've been driving past for years and finally made my first trip to Tacomasa. Staff were friendly and answered my questions about their menu. I ordered a lengua taco and a nopal (cactus) mulita. Both were greatm but that nopal will definitely have me coming back again and again! They bring your food to your table, so you can order at the counter, grab a seat, and not worry about listening for them to call your name or order number.

Wow the food here was sooooo good!! I will definitely be coming back for the queso tacos de adobada con pina (with pineapple) it was the best item we ordered!!! We also had the horchata y guayaba Bebida (guava drink) which was also very yummy! Lengua tacos were a hit and the service was awesome. It was clean and parking was easy and the eating area was nice and chill but most of all it was tidy and sanitary. I can't wait to come back again!

Went on a Saturday around 6 and it was moderately busy but the food came out in around 10 minutes! I got one nopal taco and one nopal mulita. Even though I know they just made it, the dishes didn't seem super fresh or warm. With the mulita, I felt the cheese could've been more melted. The flavors all felt bit dull to me too. Nothing especially stand out or flavorful. I don't know if this is because they just didn't give enough of anything or their flavors just aren't bold. Nopal was cooked better compared to other places and guac was good.

Go ahead and get the mulita or quesa taco. Definitely can't go wrong with either. Tacos were good too, they put guac and it really completes it. Not sure if they had other salsas but one of the ones they give you are very flavorful. Neither were really spicy. Also couldn't leave without refilling that bomb horchata! They have outdoor seating with umbrellas so you can get a nice breeze without burning up. Parking is a bit tight. Place overall seems clean and well kept. The service was good and the food came out very quickly. Will definitely be back here when I'm on a lunch break and need something quick!

Burrito was good and juicy, full of flavor. Horchata was fire, very thick and nice cinnamon taste. The fries were mid. $15 for something too dry and barely loaded. Even the guac and creama didn't help the dryness.

Went to check out this place mainly because of the jamaica taco, which I haven't really seen anywhere else before. The jamaica taco was definitely something that caught me off guard. It had a unique flavor and texture but with the addition of the salsa that was provided, it was quite pleasant. Definitely something that I would recommend to anyone who is looking for meat alternative tacos. I also ordered an adobada taco which was great. The portion sizes for both were bigger than expected, and the salsas provided a great kick. Would come again! read more

Was in town for the aquarium of the pacific and remembered seeing this place online. So my family and I decided to give it a try. When we parked we instantly smelled the meat cooking, believe it was with charcoal. Maaaaannnnnn, the food and service was soo good. We had a sample of three meats (al pastor, chicken and asada) right away and not one disappointed. We ended up getting tacos, stacked mulita's with different meats and salsas, loaded fries, fresh baked puff pastries with drizzled of happiness. Would highly recommend coming back. Also, thank you to the staff for serving hot and great food. We sat outside where they have burners out and didn't even feel cold. The workers came out and asked if we needed any refills or anything else. Tacomasa is my new favorite spot! Long Beach is so diverse with its food scene but Tacomasa still manages to stand out with its cuisine and customer service. Great location right across from Rec Park. Try the adobada any style and the carne asada fries. Finally had the chance to check out this taqueria. This place is fire! Their tacos were so delicious, even my 11 month old son loved the plain adobada taco. Yelp has never let me down yet! This place is fire. True TJ tacos without having to cross the border. Ordered an asada taco and a adobada taco. While I was waiting, someone from the kitchen came out with a tray and gave out a sample of the asada meat. So good. Tortillas are fresh, meat is fresh, everything is fresh. Wow! TacoMasa is definitely a contender for the best tacos in Long Beach and guess what...they are reasonably priced. We ordered the adobada mulitas, an asada taco and a pollo asado taco con todo of course. All were delicious! They don't use the thin corn tortillas that have to be doubled up. The tortillas are so fresh. All 3 salsa options are a win, win, win. Do yourself a favor and order the elote because it's one of the best I've had. The corn is grilled and topped with the usual elote fixings and Valentina drizzle. The service was great, very hospitable. Highly recommend this place! read more

Impressed! Attending an event at CSULB and haven't been to this area in awhile. Stopped in completely impromptu driving down 7th St. and so glad I did. The taco combo was only $9.95 for two tacos with a side of rice and beans (served in little plastic cups like those used for condiments) and a drink - they have fountain soda and aqua jamaica and horchata. The smell of the grill and visual of the flames hits you the second you walk in the door. Everyone was warm and friendly, but appreciated being able to order from the kiosk to consider my options with photos. The combo price point is significantly better than any a la carte options. The tacos came with meat, salsa, cilantro and onions, and guacamole- thought it was lovely everything was included especially at this price point. The taquera salsas were bright and flavorful and the grilled chiles I was able to request were so delicious from being fire grilled. It has been a long time since a place inspired me to leave a review, but I couldn't leave without sharing! read more

New spot in town! Very clean, friendly staff, good customer service. I had two carne and two adobada pork tacos and a regular size soft drink. The tacos are bigger than a street taco and they aren't shy with portions. All my tacos were completely filled. The pork was the best, very delicious. The carne was not bad but not great. They also slop sauce all over the tacos which adds to the flavor. Only con, it was kinda pricey. I spent $18 and some change just for myself. Even though the tacos are bigger than street tacos, it took four to fill me up. Tacos are $3.50 each. I'll definitely come back though to try out other menu items. read more

It's okay to try out, wish they had more variety with the salsa. Somethings are overpriced for the portions, like the loaded fries. Wasn't a big fan of the rice and beans not the best around. I got the feel it was catering towards people who are not that familiar with Mexican Food. read more

Alissa was amazing! She gave me the best service ever! Not only did she give me her own personal favorites for a first timer like myself to try she even offered me a sample to try a meat I had never tasted. It was amazing! She took her time and really understood what I wanted to eat and customized my order to my preference. She smiled the whole time, gave me great eye contact and went above and beyond to take care of me making my first experience there amazing! When I went to get a to go bag for my food, she had left already and another amazing employee came over named Denise and assisted me with a smile. Even though I just needed a bag she connected with me on a personal level which made me feel valued and important as if I was the only guest there. She was extremely personable and even knew that my company I work for comes to get food there. She really made another positive impression on me that I am going to continue to refer people as the best Mexican food in Long Beach! The place was extremely clean, well kept, organized and every employee there was smiling and actively working doing something. Had to try this place off of a taco review from the TCGD on IG. And he wasn't wrong. I've always passed by this place many times going to the golf course. It sits on the corner with parking in the back. It's nice, it's clean, and the food is really good! It was our first time there and I asked what was good and they explained the tacos and even gave samples of the meat. The menu is simple but everything is good. We each had the asada a nd adobada tacos. They were bomb on hand made flour tortillas just like a street taco. It came with rice, beans, and sauce. Didn't need the sauce at all though becuz the meat was so tasty as it was. Actually didn't need the rice or beans either. We also had the elote which was very good too. Had enough grated cheese on it to satisfy our appetite. I really recommend trying it! For dessert we had some kind of baked chips with caramel on it. If I could give this place 10 stars I would let's start with the Bar. I have the most amazing bartender. Karla I wasn't having the best day so I told her to make me a drink mind you I'm allergic to cinnamon and I have a bunch of allergies, but she came up with the most amazing and strong cocktail,if you know what I mean. We ordered two mulitas de adobado, two vampiros de asada and pollo, a plate of asada nachos, plus a Jarritos and an horchata. Definitely not my first time here and most times I come in I get the same cashier, and she knows I'm a regular so we even will have a conversation while she checks up on guests and comes to me. I like to ask questions just to get to know this place more, like this time I asked her where they got the name tacomasa from, and also how they put the flower of the hibiscus to use cause I seen they put them in tacos? And she's always willing to answer my questions with a smile! Then before leaving I also seen her in the kitchen making tortilla, ( amazing) I'm surprised by her customer service always on point! Let me tell you. I hate LA traffic, and I NEVER come to Long Beach. Live in Hollywood and it takes a miracle to get me on the 405 after 2pm on a Friday. But ladies and gentlemen, Tacos Masa is WORTH THE TRIP. Let me start with the service. Our cashier, Max, is quite possibly the nicest and most helpful server ever. My girlfriend is vegetarian and she had a ton of questions about the Jamaica they used for their non-meat options. Today was amazing day. Me and my friends went to an escape room, in Long Beach. Our escape room was the Queen Mary. We finished and WON with 13 minutes to spare. #TeamLizzie After winning as first-timers (btw) we were feeling a little hungry, actually starving so we decided to make our way to this place I've never heard before; TacoMasa! I had came here earlier with my kids to try some authentic tj food since we had just been to tj and we were craving something a like what we had experience from our trip. I got the taco combo. Recently I went to Tacomasa and I got to say the food there was incredible. Portions are great and the prices are fair. The service was pretty great as well! A girl with glasses by the name of Joscelyn had good attention to detail. Made sure the food was worth buying and was a great person to interact with. As for the space, it had this calm feeling to it; the colors gave it that feeling which also went well with the beach sort of vibe to it. First time coming here on a date to try something new. Was taken care of by the assistant manager Christian. He made some great recommendations for my date and I. We told him it was our first time here and he did not let us down. Food was tasteful, didn't have to wait long, drinks were good. Pretty much checked off all our of boxes. My partner tried the Cucumber Lime Agua Fresca, not too sweet and very thirst quenching. Service is always attentive and friendly! I love that everyone appears cross-trained to work in the kitchen, which looks clean with fryer oil fresh and at the right temperature. When the food arrives, we're all, "OK, talk to you later," because eating here is SERIOUS gastronomy. The sauces so distinct and so well paired. I have to order the chili braised beef every time: tender, slow heat, perfectly cooked. It's always a hard call because these tacos are deceptively big; do I shove it in my mouth and eat half in a mouthful like a teenaged boy? or do I put half on the second tortilla? Today opted for the latter and split the fried cauliflower with my parter: breaking it up with a spoon do spread out the crispy deliciousness. The Al Pastor soft and phenomenal! My partner was hoping for the Indian flavors to come out more in the Chicken Tinga, but reported that while delicious, it was dominated by the smokiness of the chicken. Leaving fortified and sated!

I assumed it was AC but the atmosphere wasn't chilly. They had their door held open by chairs so I'm assuming they wanted to cool down the place. For the fries and order of 4 tacos crunchy style and two aguas frescas the total was about $42 The aguas were the best part. The Jamaica was super tasty and not too floral. The pineapple one was great but could have been a bit sweeter. If you are a fan of a more watered down agua the you'll love the piña. Now for the crunchy tacos: the part that was disappointing was that there was no crunch. All tacos were soggy as soon as we got them but luckily the meat and consome were well seasoned and cooked. My partner was asked if he wanted it with everything (cilantro and onions) but there was hardly any onions on his tacos. The fries needed more cheese. The wait was actually taking a while (about 10 min) that even the worker who brought us out food apologized for the wait and blamed the fries for it. I was a bit surprised the fries were to blame when the cheese wasn't even melted. The fries also got very soggy quickly but I hear some people may enjoy that. Honestly they cut their asada meat for the fries in the tiniest pieces. As you can tell from my photo it's hard to see any carne because the California fries is basically 99% fries. It would have been nice to get some sort of avocado if you are calling a dish "California" within it. This typically implies some use of avocado, meat and fry. But hey two out of the three is great if the amount of meat is pretty hearty. And here it was not. I would come again to try something that requires less of a wait. Maybe try the burrito or just a simple taco. Forsure I would want to try their horchata! I'm thinking the food was finished at different times and somehow left out because food that is known for their "famous" crunchy tacos, it would have been nice to had my crunchy tacos.......crunch and not be squishy.

Los Compadres is what El Torito, Rodrigo's, or LA Capilla wishes it could be. We had early dinner here two days ago. If you know, you know that if you get here after 4:30 pm, be prepared to wait about 30+ minutes to get seated. It's very popular and the parking lot is an odd shape and a parking spot can be a challenge. The complimentary chips and salsa are what you would expect. Very good. The Margaritas are good and they have great mixers. My wife ordered the cheese enchiladas with the green sauce. I ordered the mixed fajitas (Asada, pollo, and shrimp). It came with nice thick homemade corn tortillas. The side of rice is nice and fluffy and the refried beans are very good. In the past I have ordered their shredded beef enchiladas with the red sauce and their shredded beef hardshell tacos. Those are my go to. Their mixed Molcajete is very good here and best to share. Its a lot of food. This is a really well oiled machine here. The staff is always welcoming. Servers are on top of pushing for cocktails and the the kitchen pumps out very hot dishes quickly for as busy as they get. It does get a little loud in there, but we'll worth the good food.
