I was finally able to try this place and I am glad I did. First walking in I was surprised how small it was inside and the bar as well. Can probably have around 20 customers inside comfortably. Besides that the food was very good. It was quick service too. Our food arrived quickly after ordering. I'm happy about this because there are not many good taco places near where in live. Everything we tried on the menu was delicious, including burritos, tortas, tacos, and even the beans and rice side. The ingredients tasted very fresh and were seasoned well. My 1 year old loved the beans and rice. I will definitely be a regular here. Just be careful around the NFL schedule. They play the football games so it gets packed quickly at those times. read more

The food was pretty delicious, I didn't realize they had cilantro on the pizza when it first came, but after asking them if they could remove it. they were able to remove the cheese and the meat and scrape as much of the cilantro off. despite running out of them, it was better. It was pretty busy, took awhile. I wish they had more seatings outside. Also the fact it's stage bright inside, but overall it wasn't the worst. Lots of tvs. The churros were crispy and soft on the inside, not too overly sweet compared to one's ive had. Super good. Hard to fully hear sometimes due to how loud it can be. Just came here for dinner tonight. Asked the host (a nice young man) how long the wait would be, the young man let us know it'd be ~30 minutes, so we ordered to go. Just after paying we noticed that a table opened up and asked if we could please eat our "to go" order here - the nice young man said "absolutely". Upon going to clear the table, his manager approached him. The young man came back to us to let us know they could not accommodate us, relaying his bosses message. So, I went up to the boss and asked if I heard correctly, she confirmed. I asked what the difference was beyond the box the food comes in, she said "we have servers here", perhaps implying they wouldn't be tipped. Of course we all understand tips are optional and usually left after receiving quality service. Left astonished, we waited for our food (we had already paid and could not cancel our order). Several guest chimed in agreeing that it was wrong, one even offered his seat. I really hope the manager or owner wakes up - what a joke. read more

The decor and sizing of this place has a nice cozy feel to it where you can have some pretty authentic Mexican food. I was in the mood for seafood and these guys did not disappoint, the cost of everything felt right and reasonable. I'm deep into tacos and have frequented most if not all of the taquerias in Simi Valley. I can honestly say this is my new favorite spot for tacos here in Simi! To be fair, I haven't tried the other entrees but the molcajete at the adjacent tablooked and smelled amazing. Everything I have tried here is outstanding and the prices are very good for how much food you get. My wife and I loved the Mar y Tierra, Al Pastor, Quesabirria, Chorzo, Carnitas, Pollo and Carne Asada tacos, and the creamy refried beans were excellent too! Service was excellent (thanks Natalia!) and the atmosphere was cheery, although it was lots of sports on large TVs which is not usually my thing. They just opened, but I predict that this place will outgrow this location in 4 months... If you're looking for a quaint, quiet, authentic family spot with a diverse traditional menu, Elvira's is still king. Bomb. So bomb. We got 4 different kinds of tacos, including the nopal tacos. I had never eaten anything with cactus in it before so I had no idea what to expect and I was blown away. The tortillas were perfect and all the flavors came together in a way I'd never experienced before. I think it might be my new favorite! My wife had tacos, all generously prepared and flavorful. I was intrigued by their potatoes. It was not something I had seen on a taco shop menu before. Delicious. And big. I was hungry but still got 2 meals out of it. Although it might have been the extra taco that put me over the top. This place is a real hole in the wall, having a bar area few places to sit, but many TV and amazing food. My wife and I order a molcajete and some asada fries, their asada was amazing, their serving sizes are a little bigger than expected so don't over order! Great food, terrible service. We ordered burrito bowls and they came out as burritos. They took them back, scraped the filling out of the tortillas into a bowl. The food was luke warm at that point when they gave it back; mentioned that to them and they acted like it was our fault. They asked if we wanted it warmed back up or re-made; we said it didn't matter. Food came back out as it should have the first time out and was great.
