Place was kind of dingy, but that doesn't scare me because if it's still busy, that means the food is good. Didn't work out that way this time. The refries were probably the thinnest I've ever seen (but they were kind of tasty). The beef in the tacos didn't appear to actually have been grilled, but was tasty. Accompaniments like chips/salsa were extra, so I didn't have any. Could not endorse the guacamole at all, as it seemed to be 50% tomatoes, and no longer a fresh green. The tamale was probably store bought, as it came in paper, and not the traditional corn husk. Anyway, my expectations are high for Mexican food, admittedly. Enjoyed some awesome Mexican food here on a busy weekday evening. I got 2 walla walla tacos, a tamale, and rice. The walla walla tacos that came with your choice of meat (asada in my case), cooked onions, and an avocado slice really hit the spot, and at $2.25 hit the spot. The tamale was also good, filled with beef, and the Mexican rice completed a lovely meal. The green and red sauces were a nice touch to the meal, albeit incredibly spicy. Overall, will be back whenever I'm in town again! Note: avoid the chicharron tacos, it's just a bunch of chicharron chips on taco skin. read more

Not too bad. I had the wet carnitas burrito and the ladies had street fish tacos chicken flautas. Main food was pretty OK. The rice was boring and the beans were really salty. Bottles salsas were pretty good. Beer is cold. Good size menu with several protein options In Cali it would have been one or two starts but for Idaho the bar for Mexican food is lowered a bit. The staff is great and service was on point. Lots of locals and regulars. That is always a good sign for a location. I would go again if craving but I would not go oughta my way. read more

This place has the best Mexican food and margaritas this side of San Antonio. Don't be put off by the shabby ambiance. The portions are generous. Correction, some are huge, at least the torta and wet burrito were. The cabbage salsa was amazing, and my enchiladas were full of pure white chicken. The prices were extremely reasonable. Our waiter, (the only one) was very nice. I live in Hillsboro, OR where there are lots of good Mexican restaurants, but nothing compares to this little place. read more

The absolute best food I've had in Lewiston! I love this place. I had street tacos: lengua and chicharon the first time, they were perfect! The second time I figured that they may have some meat not listed on the menu. Buche? Cabeza? Buche... no (darn, this is one of my favorites) Cabeza... yes!! Sweet! I ordered 2 and was in heaven! Both times I've gone I've had menudo. It was amazing! The flavor was spot on and the tripe was thick cut and delicious! I'm in town for another week and will definitely be back! Very Good but not great. Had 3 tacos. 1: The carne asada with potato had french fries in it - very good but I wasn't expecting actual fries. 2: The shredded beef and sautéd onion reminded me of pot roast - it had a slice of fresh avocado but any avocado flavor was overwhelmed by the pot roast. 3: The chicharrón seem straight out of a bag of pork rinds - nothing like homemade I've had in the past. Both the red and green salsa had very good flavor; while the green has great heat, the red is milder. Beans and rice were very good as well! Oh yum yum yum! The street tacos are fresh perfection. I tried their carnitas, shrimp and walla walla style street tacos. I would have eaten more but my belly ran out of room. The food was okay but the service was an absolute joke. We ordered a total of 10 tacos and 2 burritos; we've been waiting 40+ minutes. Their excuse for the long ticket time was because we requested our tripas crispy; a process we've had done at other taquerias that takes 5 minutes or less. Once we finally received our food, the tripas was burnt, not crispy. We were treated like their lack of service, ticket times and food quality was our fault. read more

Gosh this is a rough one. We looooved the old version of this restaurant and are not sure about the revamp. While the owners are efficient and nice they usually say "See You Tomorrow".....today we got nothing and it felt really odd and sad to us.
