Every time I come here the food is delicious, everybody is kind and I get great service. Its always nice to actually sit down and eat, and the vibes are always good. I have been wanting to try Tacos Chinampa for months! When the opportunity finally presented itself to order the survival kit for our family I jumped on it! I was not disappointed! The survival kit that Tacos Chinampa currently offers is enough to feed a large family. It comes with tacos, flautas, taco toppings, rice, beans, salsa, delicious dips as well as five baked potatoes! It was enough for three meals for our family of four so for a larger family it would be perfect! Everything was on point and the tacos were some of the best I have ever had in El Paso. Im usually weary about hitting up spots in strip malls, the place is either too small or too hot or just not to my liking. Chinampa is a spot I used to go to a lot back when i was a westsider, and since moving to central the few times i leave the house we hit up whatever place is open near yarbrough (we usually get a hankering for mexican food after visiting my moms) After about 3 times of passing by and picking something else, the want and need for some dope flautas and horchata was too much! We stopped and i decided to add some Mexican Fries to my order as an appetizer since my kiddo had eaten breakfast already but loves fries! These were hands down some of the best fries I've had! These weren't cali style fries where they just exagerate what goes on top and call it a day. This was a smother of toppings that complimented each other and added flavor and not just another inch to the plate. My girls menudo was good and so where my flautad but if you decide to hit it up you need these fries in your life!!! Also great service and shout out to the staff for quick refills. read more

The food was very delicious and full filling ! We got a parrillada for two and we still had leftovers ! They have a serve your own salsa bar and free refills on the agua frescas ! This might just be one of those places that because they have multiple locations, the food and experience vary. But this one was definitely on the disappointing side. I got the al pastor tacos and they were bland, dry, and boring. They definitely lacked that iconic flavor. The beans I got were actually pretty good. While the food might not have lived up to the hype, the restaurant itself was not as clean as it should have been. While I get in El Paso it gets super hot and flies are a common problem here, there were a lot of flies hanging around the doors and windows, which is pretty unacceptable. On top of this when you looked up at the ceiling there was a ton of black dust. The longer I sat the more I started to notice. Which leads me onto my next issue which while our waitress was very nice, she was unattentive. I had mentioned wanting to place an order to go that would be ready when we left, but she never came back to follow up on that. And while I understand people forget, especially when restaurants are super busy, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. She also only checked on us once mid meal, and never came back to offer us a box or to let us know we had to pay at the front. Since we didn't know we were supposed to go to the front to pay, we ended up sitting there for a bit, while she mostly just hung around the front talking to the other waitress. This place was terrible. During this pandemic, I understand you're going to have to wait for your food. But we waited over 20 minutes for our food. And guess what, they couldn't even get the order correct. We just ordered 6 tacos and they gave us the wrong type of meat. I read on the other review that the beans were awesome, they were alright. The baked potato was cold. I had asked for one extra taco so I could try it (we got this meal for my husband) and the employee said that they "don't do that." Whatever. Tacos Chinampa just opened on Yarbrough in a strip mall. It was delicious!!! I had the tacos asados and my husband had the tacos al pastor. They were fantastic! The beans were out of this world! They were so tasty, we ordered a second helping! The food was nice and hot. The platter presentation was appealing. The service is really great. A very nice atmosphere. They have televisions for your viewing pleasure. The service personnel was very friendly and nice. They were checking on you without being obtrusive. The platter comes with a baked potato, four tacos, small garnish, and nicely grilled onions. The lemonade was so refreshing. Just the right amount of sugar and tart flavor. Wonderful! We will be going again. They serve breakfast and they have a drive-thru window. The place was getting full of customers as we finished our meal. A word of caution- parking is at a premium. This place deserves a zero stars if i could. It was bad since we pulled up. Our first time here and the girl with the braces on had the worst customer service attitude ever. There was no menu on their drive thru window so we were not sure and figured tacos, burritos, tortas. We asked for a torta and the girl replied with bad attitude stating "we dont have tortas" so we had to guess and then asked for tacos and guessed right. Moving on it took a long time to get our food out and the taste was bad. The meat looked and tasted old and had no taste whatsoever like asada. The meat tasted like liver it was disgusting and hard. The cilantro was not finely chopped and only gave us enough for one out of the six tacos. My kids are big taco lovers and could not stomach not even one. This place claims its el pasos best tacos well if this is the best I sure don't want to taste the rest. I would suggest that girl get trained to address customers in a more nicer way and explain what the restaurant offers rather than having customers guess. read more

This is a terrific place to eat. In town for husband's high school homecoming. This place had a 5 star rating and good reviews. We came for breakfast. Yum! Definitely worth the rating.
