I have been to this location multiple times. I first started going to Tacos el Diablo in Ventura and a couple times in Oxnard. I was so excited when they opened in Camarillo! I love Mexican food and tacos might be my favorite. I love it here. The meat is delicious, tortillas are solid, and the salsa is wonderful! My go to is the chicken and pastor. Chicken tacos are usually never my favorite, but the chicken here is high quality, juicy, and perfectly seasoned! The albondigas is also delicious! They are very nice and service is top notch! Stopped by this Mexican spot to try something new and ended up enjoying the food and drinks. We ordered the shrimp tacos and quesabirria tacos. The shrimp tacos were really good. Enjoyed the creamy salsa on it as well as the cabbage and pico de gallo adding a nice crunch and freshness to it. The quesabirria tacos had great flavor as well, though they were a bit too oily for my tatse. Overall, the food was enjoyable, but the tortillas weren't my favorite. They tasted like the store bought ones from the grocery store which i'm not a huge fan of. For dessert, we tried the churro donuts and they were definitely worth it. Perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and paired really well with the caramel sauce. Sweet, but that's exactly what you want from a treat like that. They also offer a good selection of drinks. I went with the guava lemonade and it was a 10/10. Refreshing and flavorful. There is some seating area indoors and more outdoors which is nice, but I do with they had heaters for the outside seating when it gets cold. read more

Horchata 9.5/10. Tacos, meat is dry, flavorless and over salted 4/10. Guacamole was 6/10 it definitely was not fresh and not chunky. I've tried their Oxnard location a handful of times when they first opened. Now I moved to Camarillo, I decided to try them again. I tried their birria tacos and it was not the best. They were looking kind of sad. Consome was fine not too salty. On the other hand, the asada fries were really good! I like the skinny fries, it had more flavor than the birria. I'm not sure if they still have it but they made really good strawberry horchata before. It was a hidden menu item. read more

We usually go to the Tacos el Diablo in Oxnard but wanted to try out their Camarillo location, hoping that there would be more seating available. It's about the same but with indoor seating. Our beer battered fish tacos were forgotten twice, and I noticed that the beer battered fish were bigger portion in the Oxnard location. I still want to support this business, but will be going back to the Oxnard location next time. read more

The most skimped tacos I've ever seen. I would never come back and order these again especially if I am supposed to pay 12$ for two pieces of meat in 2 cheese and onion/cilantro tacos. Finally made it in and love it! Tucked next to the gas station in the Trader Joe's plaza, this Mexican food gem awaits. There is indoor and outdoor seating, making it comfortable for your dining needs. I highly recommend the quesadilla with birria and a pomegranate marg. My favorite flavor is Jamaica. There are 10 or so different margarita flavors to choose from. The prices are competitive. The food portions are generous making it budget friendly for a night out. The staff are nice. This food is absolutely delicious. Had two Sopes one chicken and one Carnitas both absolutely delicious. I also had a sampling of all of their hot sauces, which are perfect for their namesake Diablo. The first thing I noticed about this place is it's kind of difficult to get to from the parking lot. You have to cross a busy shopping center parking lot entrance, walk along the sidewalk to the opening in their patio, then back to the front door. I hope their landlord discounted the location because it is inconvenient. The dining area is pretty small, but they do offer patio dining. Next weird thing I noticed as many have mentioned, there's no pricing on the menu. I wanted to sample a few things so I just started adding them in order of what I wanted and watched the bill add up on their register. It adds up quickly as this place is not cheap, but then again what is these days. Contrary to some other's experiences I found the staff to be helpful and patient as they answered my questions while I thought about what to try. I ordered chicken nachos, 2 quesabirria tacos, and 3 shrimp tacos. The chicken nachos were ok, a little lacking in flavor, but when I added their green salsa it added a nice taste and slight kick. Word of advice, be careful with the habanero salsa, they warned me it was spicy and it is. Too much habanero and you'll be sweating and coughing. The wife had the shrimp tacos and said they're a solid 4 stars. She would like to come back based on the shrimp tacos alone. We split the quesabirria tacos which were good, the consume is delicious, but I like them to be a little crispy on the outside to keep everything from falling in the consume. These were the best tacos I've had in Camarillo, but there's not much competition. To drink I tried their horchata. This was like liquid rice pudding, very sweet. They said it's homemade but it had a very familiar Ole Bang fountain taste, just with lots of cinnamon. Overall everything was mediocre (except the horchata), but their salsas and consume elevate everything to good. Well that's this critic's review, until next time, I'll be eating. read more

Everything was surprisingly EXCELLENT! Taste and flavors were !!! I had the chile relleno burrito with beans on the side. It was SO GOOD! It was a little on the small side, so if you're really hungry I suggest getting a taco or something in addition to it. My husband got the carne asada torta. I would ask for the bread extra toasty, because it eventually got soggy. Would give it 5 stars if the portions were equivalent to the price point. First time here. Thank god for this place, I was wondering if I'd ever find a SOLID fish taco near West Malibu where I live. This place hits the spot on so many levels: ambiance (a great patio with plenty of shade and umbrellas), the best traditional fried AND grilled fish taco I've had since I moved from San Diego (garnished with limes, radishes and pickled red onion on the side), a tasty michelada (complete with chamoy AND tajin rim), 3 equally SOLID salsas, and great service from the ladies at the register/running food. This ex fine-dining server says it's worth tipping even if it is counter service!! Thank you for being a solid restaurant. FOH/BOH knocked it out of the park. We finally got around to trying Tacos El Diablo in Camarillo last week. Should have stopped in sooner, it was fantastic. It's casual counter service. The young lady that took our order was very helpful and polite. The decor is minimal with appropriate Spanish tile multi-colored chairs, but also comfortable booths where the prior Greek restaurant just had tables and chairs. We ordered their signature item, the Quesabirria tacos and an order of carne asada nachos. Both were very good, but the Quesabirria's were definitely the star. They are a crisp double corn tortilla taco with a layer of jack&cheddar cheese between the two shells. The interior is stuffed with slow braised tender shredded beef, onion and cilantro served with a tangy green salsa on the side as well as spicy consommé. I felt the heat level on these was perfect when dipped in the consommé, spicy, but not blow the back of your head off. The nachos were simple and what you would expect, I really liked the authentic Mexican crema drizzle versus thick sour cream and the use of cotija cheese on top of the melted jack and cheddar. Bonnie doesn't like refried beans, so they put them on the side for me. Her loss they were great too. We will definitely be back to try some of their other items like the Asada fries and Gordita's. read more

The orders are so aesthetically pleasing. I have got multiple things to go. The guacamole is very good. An order of vegetarian nachos was my favorite so far. The salsas are very spicy(but come on the side). I asked the guy at the register what was vegetarian... he was very explanatory and kind. I was given many options and told that a lot of things can be made vegetarian as well. Quick service and cool environment. I think it is definitely worth checking out. read more

Came in tonight for the first time and was pretty excited as a few friends have really enjoyed this spot since it opened. Tacos el Diablo is a new taco joint in town and it's bringing festive and fun vibes with their decor inside. I loved that when I walked inside it was very colorful. Rainbow ish painted chairs and some decor made it inviting. They have a few booths, a low bar top, and a couple of high top table/booth seats. For being a small place they did a good job of organizing the seating. Staff seemed very nice and personable here! I only was able to interact with the lady taking my order at the front counter but she was so so nice and attentive. She had a bubbly and friendly personality and made me feel welcomed. She was polite and efficient. I had read a few reviews being concerned that they don't display their pricing. I agree it's a work in progress here. I will say I think they are trying to take in the feedback as during my trip they do have a whiteboard now listing the different meats/proteins and the cost per taco. I only saw prices for the tacos, so they are working on it but not yet displaying a full price point yet. I ordered my food to go and it was prepared relatively quickly and for that I was grateful. Saw a good amount of pickup orders walked out the door. So they do seem to be gaining popularity. As to the food and drinks I was very impressed. I started with a guava lemonade and it was delightful! The perfect amount of sweet and refreshing. Probably one of the best guava flavored drinks I've had in a really long time. Even if I wasn't hungry I'd stop by just to get this drink. Guava lemonade 5/5 stars. My favorite bite of the night was the pastor burrito. The burrito was loaded with toppings and super flavorful. The pastor was well seasoned and tasty. A little fatty but sometimes I like it that way. Loaded with meat, beans, rice and onions it was a solid burrito. Very tasty and filling, another easy 5/5. The only protein I didn't care for were their carnitas. I live a crispy fatty pork and here it's served pretty shredded and no real fat or crunch. Had I closed my eyes I would have maybe thought it chicken. Bummer because I love carnitas but just not cooked to be style / preference here. While I didn't love this protein I love how they present their street tacos. My tacos were paired with an automatic side of radish slices, grilled onion wedges, and some pickled veggies. This was very impressive for a treat taco. Two tacos for $6.50 with all of those sides, that's actually a good deal and makes their street tacos stand out from the rest! While I'd say the carnitas was a 3/5, the actual presentation and sides with their tacos would have been a 5/5 for me had I ordered the right protein. All in all I was very happy with my meal here at Tacos El Diablo. The food was good and I loved the guava lemonade. Staff were very nice and welcoming. The interior is cute. Glad Camarillo has this spot as I will be back. read more

~ A NEW SPOT FOR TACOS? ACTUALLY SPICY SALSA? I'M ALL IN! ~ I always welcome new Mexican restaurants to Camarillo, especially when they deliver on both flavor and spice. Swung by on a Friday night, and it was packed - about 20 people in line, but it moved quickly and was totally worth it. The open kitchen is fun to watch, as the staff whips up the yummy street food right in front of you. I ordered the carne asada fries and two al pastor tacos. The carne asada fries were the highlight - the fries were perfectly crispy, and the asada was packed with flavor. Many restaurants tend to use the chewier or fattier cuts of the carne asada for their fries, but Tacos El Diablo served high-quality peices for both their tacos and other dishes. The tacos were loaded with meat and seasoned just right. The portions are generous, so you definitely get your money's worth. The vibe is super cute, with colorful decor and some outdoor seating. The ordering system is easy, and the staff are friendly. I know they're still working out their kinks and I've never been to their other locations in Oxnard or Ventura, but it would be helpful if they could include prices on the menu. That said, this place might just become one of my new go-tos in town, so I'll be back for sure! *Warning: The habanero salsa is no joke. First things first. El Diablo is a reference to the spiciness of the food. So if you are a Christian, don't worry you're not making a deal with the devil :-) This is more of a casual "taco spot" than a restaurant as there are no dinner plates with rice & beans and you order at the counter. There is seating out on the sidewalk (cafe style) or the cute dining room. My favorites are the excellent quesabirra tacos (served with consommé), asada tacos and the quesabirria burrito, served with small sides of pickled vegetables and three salsas (red, green and habanero). They also have fries and nachos that are fantastic. It's simple food, all of it executed spectacularly well; in line with contemporary standards of the famous taquerias in LA. Based on the "out the door" lines that I saw during the soft-opening, this place fills a huge void in Camarillo. They will be hugely successful and deservedly so. If you're in Camarillo and craving authentic tacos you've got to try this place. It's hands down the best taco place in town. Each taco is around $3.25. I tried Pastor and Lengua both so full of flavor and topped with really good red and green salsa. On top of that, the restaurant was very clean and the customer service was great. I've been longing for a mexican place to my liking, and I may have just found it. Stopped for a quick bite when I saw they had just opened, and first impressions are strong. I had a quesabirria, which seems to be their signature dish, and it immediately made me look forward to my next visit. The birria was everything I could ask of the guiso, the tortillas were fried to perfection, and the consomé was simply delicious. A generous portion for the price, too. The establishment has a few tables inside and outside, with an order up front and buzzer system to know your food is ready. While I can see such a small place getting packed on busier hours (especially with how good the food is, give it time), ample space between the tables promises a manageable noise level. First time trying this place....was it worth the hype no, but it wasn't bad. I had the grilled shrimp tacos. I thought they were flavorful and good. My husband and I shared the Quesabirria tacos. I enjoyed it but my husband felt the tacos were just okay, compared to others we've had. Unfortunately, the taco shell was not as crunchy as we were expecting. My husband had the chicken nachos and was very disappointed. He felt they were too bland and only got better after dumping salsa on top. We also tried the horchata, and found it left an artificial aftertaste. Overall, I would give Taco El Diablo 3.75 stars. I enjoyed my food, but my husband was left wanting. read more

Food is always good at Tacos el Diablo regardless of the branch. It has always been my favorite taco place. Especially their Al pastor, is the best! My only issue with my visit today is the pastor meat I got wasn't even warm. It was colder than room temp. I wonder why. The portion is great as usual. Service, though, at Camarillo isn't as nice and warm as the one in Ventura or Oxnard. People seem either sleepy or pissed off. Ambiance is good even though it's tight. My second time here. I thought maybe my first visit was an anomaly since it was so good. For some reference, I always wanted to try the location on C St. in Oxnard. Unfortunately, I was always passing through and parking in that area as you may know is a super hassle Now for the highlights for the Camarillo location. This restaurant might be considered the In-N-Out of Taquerias. I don't want to say the menu is limited, but, it sticks to the all to important basics of Taqueria cuisine. My go to favorite is the quesobirria Tacos. Absolutely the most flavorful and perfect cooked meat, along with their homemade over the top consumé to dip it into. I've also enjoyed the Sopés with Carnitas or Carne Asada. Excellent! In my opinion, I would say this is the best cook Carnitas in the region. I wanted to try the Gordita, but it's a pretty good size. I usually prefer a variation of flavors so I order a couple of items. They also offer beer and have Modelo on tap, which is a special treat when you just have to have a beer. One point to consider is their taco orders come into only. Not sure why they don't just disclose this on the menu, but I heard them telling many people for the first time that taco orders come into. No big deal. I would say pricing is pretty in line with most clean restaurants with above average customer service, which this is. Seating inside is adequate but can get limited when they're busy. Great patio for outdoor seating when desirable. I noticed another reviews that people were perplexed on how to get in there? The great thing about this location is there's plenty of parking in the Trader Joe's and Harbor freight parking area. Yes you have to walk through Braxton's outdoor patio if you don't wanna go around to the front and through the garden. Oh Lordy. I think I've found my favorite fast casual taco place in Ventura county. I love tacos. I mean like I could eat tacos every day. But not all tacos are created equal. And the bar is set pretty high here in Southern California. Let me tell you, the tacos here are LEGIT!! From the meat to the salsas to the tortillas everything is perfecto!! Came tonight and the food was delicious. We ordered the langua fries, carnitas nachos and a bean and cheese buritto. The langua was amazing, we've been missing this meat for years. The nachos are "fancy" so if you're looking for hangover nachos, these are not them. They were terrific. My son wanted the strawberry lemonade but I asked if it had food dye. I was told yes. A few moments later another staff (had owner energy) came over with the ingredients so I could see. No food dye! We ordered the strawberry lemonade and horchata. Both we very good.
