I cant say that enough .. theirs other good ones in the city but .. nothing compares to this taco truck for me all the meats are fresh and delicious! My favorite are asada and buche tacos as well as the other meats ... the quesadillas with meat are yummy! I was working late in the area, and hit up Yelp. With a search parameter of FOOD, OPEN NOW, and $, I found this Taco Truck six minutes away. The pictures and positive reviews sealed the deal. There were enough people there to indicate the place was legitimate. Easy choice of Burrito Al Pastor for $6.00 cash only. The guy taking my order had a surly demeanor, so I take points off for that. As for their location, it seemed to be a coin-op car wash. They had one rectangle shaped table with 5 little red plastic stool chairs. My order came quickly. I sampled all the salsa sauces. The darker green one is SPICEY!!! The avocado-based sauce was a little tasteless than I have come to expect. I ate, sharing the table with 3 others. I left my bottled water in the car, and was too lazy to get it. So, I suffered a bit with the heat. The burrito tasted good and satisfied me. Overall, not to bad. Came for first time tonight and the food was delicious! Tried tacos de lengua, pastor, and asada. Best lengua tacos I've ever had! The flavor and texture were on point. So good that I was confident hubby would like it so I offered him some and he liked it! This man doesn't venture out of asada so that was a huge step for him. Solid place for tacos in this area. Price is in the median range for tacos. But really, there isn't too many good tacos in that area, so this place is always reliable for good Mexican food. The lengua is my favorite. The others like carnitas and pastor is not as good, but not terrible. They sometimes have champurrado as well, and that's yummy, but I prefer homemade ones to it. This by far takes the cake for the worst burrito and tacos I've ever eaten. I got a carne asada burrito and 4 carnitas tacos and all i ate was the burrito while trying to finish one taco. The meat tastes like it's been sitting in a crock pot of water for hours and when they finally put it in your order they microwaved it. Although the rice and beans were decent the meat was a huge let down as it had no flavor so after dousing it in their green chili sauce the burrito went from bad to worse. This is dirt cheap especially compared to the tiny burritos at King Taco that are way more expensive. The employees there are super cool dudes, too. I'm not sure why I have such a difficult time finding this place on Yelp. It's essentially on the corner of Colorado and Rosemead. Hubby and I discovered it one night as we drove around ravenously for some good cheap eats on a Saturday night. As we passed by the truck, hubby said he felt good vibes and wanted to go. My wannabe hipstery self wanted to go to the more popular, more greatly Yelp-reviewed taco truck down the street. We drove to the popular one, but there were wayyy too many crowds of pre- and post-clubbing kids trying to look cool while getting their grub on, so we drove back to the lonely truck. Anyway, no regrets. Owners were incredibly nice, tacos were cheap ($1.20 or $1.25 each, I can't remember), and the best part - for your to-go orders, they DO NOT SKIMP on the condiments. We went home to devour our tacos and found generously stuffed baggies of cilantro, onions, radishes, a pickled radish salad, limes, red salsa, and green salsa. Who just hands out baggies of limes in an economy like this (insert happy tear here). We were very appreciative because there is nothing worse than asking someone for more salsa to have them narrow their eyes at you and begrudgingly hand you their precious ounce of salsa. I came here on a late night with my boyfriend since he wanted a burrito. He ordered a Carne Asada burrito with rice, beans and avocado and a soda, which was a little over $5.00. When his number was called, they gave him a side of avocado, a side of rice and a side of beans. When I saw his bag, I went to the window and told the guy taking orders (in Spanish) that he had ordered an Asada burrito with rice, beans and avocado. He tried to argue with me that my boyfriend had only said rice, beans and avocado. The guy said that it will be extra for the burrito so I told him it was ok, so he charged plus $3 and some change. When we got the burrito and then got in the car, I told my boyfriend to grab a bite off the burrito because I had a feeling that they had NOT added the meat. And there it was... blend burrito with rice, beans and avocado and NO MEAT. So we basically paid almost $10 for a simple rice and beans burrito. Good location, bad customer service. read more
