I'm not gonna front. I didn't expect much from a food truck. And then, Patty Meets Bun blew me away! I was able to try the truck at Chinatown Summer Nights over the weekend and it was great. They had a bunch of awesome sounding fusion burgers and for $10 didn't seem badly priced at all. And then when we got our burger, that baby had back! It was huge so actually an amazing deal for $10. We tried their Crispy Dumpling Burger which had the patty itself flavored as a dumpling (loves it!), had crispy dumpling skins on it, mayo and a bit of dumpling glaze. It was the messiest thing I've eaten in ages but goodness gracious, was it satisfying. I'm a fan. They just need to give out wet wipes with these delicious monstrosities! Def will hit up the truck again!
Their burger has such unique flavors and they are delicious. Got the lomo saltado and chimichurri burger. Can't decide which one is better, both are delicious. The flavor slaps. Rosemary garlic fries is very fragrant. You can really smell the rosemary. McD style fries, love it. Salty though. It gets saltier the more we eat it. Maybe a little too aggressive with the salt that night. Lychee lemonade is pretty good. Taste like the stuff from the can at asian supermarket. If you find them in front of ralphs, there is a bench next to their truck. But you may see bird poop on it so you can just eat in the car. Or bring home- they pack it pretty nicely. Tip: eat them fast; the burger is saucy so it will get soggy.
We tried this place by their truck in Chinatown during an event. The street taco burger intrigued me and it was good and actually tasted like a taco. I wasn't too crazy about their fries because I can't stand the taste of rosemary. Don't let that stop you from trying out the burgers. I will definitely be trying another burger from them in the future.
Came across this food truck and was intrigued by their modern take on burgers...banh mi burger? Elote burger? And monthly new flavors that you can vote for? All of the flavors were on point. It's like they combined all of the diverse local flavors and crammed them into their burgers. Fries were great too, and don't forget to wash it all down with a refreshing aqua fresca, their flavors are unique as well. Above all, the owners are super friendly and inviting, for that alone I will be back! *terminator voice*
What can be said that hasn't already been said by the glowing reviews my favorite food truck has gotten?! I love eating the food the chef and his team serves. I have never been disappointed with my choice of burgers. I haven't tried all that are on the menu but I've tried a chilaquiles burger, the kbbq burger, the lomo burger, thai beef salad burger, crispy dumpling burger, the prime rib, and my all time favorite -- the Guatemalan burger. UGGGHHH they are all sooooo good!!! Love when they have their summer specials for the buffalo fries and I just love their fries in general. The rosemary fries are pretty unique. The lychee lemonade is a great refresher on a summer day. For the month of July, I highly recommend you try the Guatemalan burger. It sounds odd, but man, it WORKS. The staff are great and friendly, everything about this place is great. Oh! And if there's a line, it moves pretty quickly.

Location/Parking: Located across the street from Temple City Park. Parking can be found along Las Tunas Dr. Ambiance: Your typical food truck ambiance. Service: Service was great. Husband and wife team of Khanh (Chef) and Jen were friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions. Food also came out at a decent time. Burgers Of Choice: Banh Mi Burger: Definitely try out their banh mi burger, which consists of a vietnamese bbq patty, pickled carrots, cucumbers, cilantro, fresh jalapeno, and mayo on a brioche bread. So good and so yum! I was surprised how it tasted just like a banh mi. The patty was tender, juicy, flavorful, and meshed really well with all the fresh ingredients. Kinda wish they can put some pate in the burger. That'll make the burger astro-NOM-NOM-ically more yum! Side Note: Make sure you get plenty of napkins, because the juice from the meat will make your eating experience a bit messy! :) Side Of Choice: Fried Zucchini Fries: The zucchini fries were good, but was surprised to see that they were grilled instead of fried. Parm cheese was also sprinkled on top. It was the icing of the cake for me. :) Truck For Thought: Definitely coming back for more.

My friends and I ordered to share: -Torta burger -Lomo saltado burger--This was my second favorite burger. -Prime rib burger -Banh mi burger--This was my favorite burger. -Zucchini fries--I love zucchini so this was bomb to me. -Rosemary garlic fries--The fries were crispy and flavorful. -Potato salad--My bf's favorite side. I'm not a potato salad person but I like their potato salad better than other potato salads that I've tried. -S'mores eggroll--Although I'm a big fan of s'mores, I wasn't blown away by this s'mores eggroll but my friends really enjoyed it. -Fries with truffle oil (not on the menu)--The owners gave us free fries with truffle oil. They were also very good.
Found PMB from randomly browsing SGV Eats and on a whim decided to check out their stop in Temple City. I'm super glad I did as the burgers were amazing! I'm always iffy about fusion burgers because they're always so hit-or-miss, but PMB definitely hit with their burgers. We tried their Korean BBQ burger and Torta burger, both of which were delicious. Surprisingly, or perhaps unsurprisingly (with all the great reviews), the burgers weren't a mess of sticky sauces and random ingredients that create the "appearance" of fusion burgers. The burgers had a great balance between being ...a burger... and the style it tries to match. I could still appreciate it as what it is - a burger, but also enjoy the kimchi, cucumbers, etc. Not sure if that makes sense but yea. The cherry on top was their rosemary fries. Those were probably one of the best fries I've had in a very long time. Fresh out the fryer, it was perfectly crisp on the outside with substance in the center and the seasoning was on point. I wish we got two combo orders instead of just one! Will definitely be back - if not for the burgers, then for those rosemary french friessssss Yelp Adventures 2020: 12/??
My Banh Mi Burger was delicious and fusion tasty! I love all the veggies and carrots in it! Our order was ready in about 10 minutes and we took it across the street to have a picnic at the Temple City park. Messy and greasy burgers is a total turn off for me, so PMB is perfect that nothing was dripping down my fingers while I'm chowing down my burger. The rosemary garlic fries was crunchy and delicious. The zuchinni fries that hubby ordered with his Torta burger was a bit messy/greasy though so probably not for me next time. I wish they have more choices with drinks for their combo. I'm not a soda person and would had been nice if they offered sparkling water, but it's not a deal breaker to eat this delicious burger with Aquafina either. Overall a great burger with an Asian fusion twist!
Our good friends suggested Patty Meets Bun and we went to meet pmb in temple city during their opening weekend. So good! Highly recommended and we ordered the bahn mi hamburger and prime burger with rosemary garlic fries and zucchini fries. How can anyone not like banh mi on a bun? Most impressive was the prime burger. No prime rib was used but if I close my eyes chewing, it was prime rib dinner all in one bite. Overall really enjoyed the burgers. Service was friendly and fast. We were told they plan to rotate out a new burger every couple months or so. We couldn't wait to go back to see if they have new flavors already!
I may have seen this on SGV eats but the hubby suggested to try this food truck because it was closeby to our home. I saw the menu and was torn between the banh mi burger or chimichurri. I decided to go with the banh mi burger and I'm glad I did. These fusion burgers were amazing and I am planning to try their other burgers! I didn't go with the hubby to get it but you get good burgers for good prices. I absolutely love their rosemary fries! Even though I was full, I couldn't stop myself from eating them. We also got the zucchini fries but I wasn't a big fan of how they were made. But that's definitely a personal opinion! Definitely give it a try!
I first found out about this place through SGV Eats. One night, my wife wanted In n Out but I remembered this place so I suggested it to her. I went there as soon as they opened and was the first one to order. I got lucky because a few minutes later the crowd came. I got their Korean BBQ Burger, Bahn Mi Burger and their Lomo Saltado Tacos. Let me say, everything tasted excellent. I know their specialties are burgers - but do NOT sleep on them tacos!

My sister and I was in TC on a Saturday afternoon in January. We decided to check it it at 11:35am. There was already 3 people waiting for their order. The person in the truck was nice and took our order-chimichurri burger with fries and Loma Saltado burger. We didn't wait too long. The fries was crispy with hint of rosemary oil and the burger was yummy. The patty was a good size and juicy while the bun held in its place. I could taste the hint chimichurri sauce in the burger. My combo was delicious and messy so bring a bib to wear when eating the burger. Next time I would try the prime rib burger. I normally don't give out 5 stars, I think this food truck deserves it. read more

FINALLY made it to this food truck! Lol, as the saying goes, there's a right time for everything. It really happened. The limited hours was what I had difficulty with. Anyhoo, after I parked, I walked up to the window and ordered the Banh Mi burger combo with rosemary fries and Sprite. I made it during the downtime, due to the New Year or perhaps I missed the lunch crowd. Wait time was about 5 minutes or less. Always enjoyed eating Banh Mi sandwiches in the past so I think I'm fairly familiar with the taste. This burger was superb! Well, I forgot that there are jalapeños so it had a surprising kick, and it wasn't bad at all so I didn't remove them. Enjoyed the sweet and tangy pickled vegetables as well as the crunchy cucumbers. Immediately after I ordered, I looked at the rest of the menu and regretted that I didn't add another patty. I usually order double-meat for burgers. However, it's usually best to try new items the way it comes so I didn't bother to change my order. All's good! The burger was packed with meaty goodness and the crispy fries kept me full. Cute name. Pay a visit to Patty Meets Bun! I hope I can make it back again soon. read more

This was the first time that I tried PMB and I got 3 different burgers: banh mi, chimichurri, and bento burger. I ordered one combo and it comes with a side and drink (I got the rosemary garlic fries for my side). The fries were actually super light but still had a taste of garlic and rosemary and it's crispy!! I'm not usually a big "fries" person, but these were so good! Banh mi: By far the best one out of all three. It was juicy enough but not overwhelmingly juicy that the sauce drips from the side. If you want to try one, I'd recommend going for this one! Chimichurri: A little bit drier than the other two, but still worth it for me because it really almost had an herbal taste to it. It's definitely very special and worth a try. Bento: This burger had a bit of the Japanese chicken teriyaki sauce to it and it was so juicy! This is probably the second best burger I've tried from PMB. Also, there's mushrooms in this burger, so if you're not a fan of mushrooms remember to ask them to take it out! Overall, the service was great and it's quite safe since there's a lot of space to social distance by the food truck. Definitely worth a try! read more

Delicious fusion burgers and sides, flavors are clean, natural, and refined. This is not your typical grease run down your arms stuff, this is not your charbroiled, heavy sauces, and cheese loaded stuff. This is not your typical American super sized burger. Yummmm!!! I love the burgers here! I'm so happy that it's a permanent food truck now! I've tried a variety of their other items when they were at the farmers market. These are not your regular run of the mill burgers. The chef is on point with creating these fabulous, tasty fusion burgers. The flavors mesh so well. It's still sorta their soft opening so I'm sure we will be blessed with their other items. This time we had their chimchurri and Korean bbq burger. With rosemary garlic fries and zucchini fries. Amazing!!! The burger meat is juicy and tasty! We were stuffed! The prices for the quality and quantity is extremely reasonable and affordable. We also got to try their off menu item- potato egg roll. And omg! They should keep this on permanent menu cuz it's delicious. I'm all for supporting local business. When I heard that they were having a pho burger for a limited time, I knew I had to get down there before the promotion ended. And I'm so glad that I did. At first appearance, it looked absolutely delectable! I Love Pho in general, but I'm particular about how much Sriracha is used and how much greens go inside it. When I saw how much Sriracha was coming out the bun I got a little skeptical at first, wondering if it was going to taste too hot. When I bit into it and all the flavors hit me all at once it was proportioned absolutely perfectly! Every bite was heaven! Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Lets just say if a meteor came down and hit the Earth today, I still would have died happy. I will definitely return to try the regular burgers, as they're all fusions of things that I already love. This place is awesome! The two times we've gone, the folks have been so kind and helpful and the food comes out quickly (less than 10 min) while still being so fresh. I tried the prime rib burger the first time I went (but without the creamed corn and horseradish sauce) and it was really good. The rosemary garlic glaze had a lot of flavor and matched well with their fries (which are also delicious!). I ended up telling them the second time I went that I was a picky eater and asked if they had a cheeseburger option and they told me about their all American burger which I got and... wow was it delicious!! It's two patties and American cheese - if you're a picky eater like me, they have options and you'll definitely love this. I'll definitely be coming back and getting that again. read more

Coincidentally, I wanted a burger today.. again (hah). I just so happened to look this spot up and saw they were down the street from me. Spotted this deliciousness on one of their posts and immediately got dressed to get them. Not disappointed at all. We got two combos, the prime rib burger with rosemary fries and torta burger with zucchini fries. These also came with drinks for 12$ each. We went around 1250 and there was no line for us. I think the burgers were okay. They were definitely unique but I don't think it's something I would crave like "damn I want the prime rib burger " lol. The Rosemary friend were good. Crispy, just the way I like it!! I think the zucchini fries were my least favorite. It could have been cut further to make it like actual fries, or maybe be called zucchini wedges since that's what it resembled. It wasn't ideal to bite into the zucchini at that size. The only reason I would come back is to try their other burgers which sound good, so it hope it blows me away!! read more

Introduction: I occasionally go on a small binge around LA trying to find some of the best burger spots in town. In-N-Out Burger is my default gold standard for measuring how an average burger should be: any establishment that serves a better burger than In-N-Out is a good place in my book. Originally my plan is to go to Father's Office in DTLA to sample their Office Burger; that is until I drive past the PMB truck: in the back of my mind, I know I have heard of PMB before and after doing some googling, I then remember they specialize in gourmet fusion cuisine burgers. Therefore, I figured why go to DTLA when I can munch on a gourmet burger that's close to home? I end up getting their Chimichurri Burger and I'm glad I did. Food: Chimichurri Burger with fried egg: What's good about this burger is the freshness and quality of its ingredients: the tomato slices are plump and juicy, the provolone cheese is flavorful, and the burger patty is well-seasoned, and packed with the depth as well as savoriness of beef. The chimichurri sauce ties everything together and causes the palate to be overwhelmed with flavor in a good way as opposed to being obtrusive. The only drawback about this burger is when I got it, the top bun is somewhat soggy: this could be caused by a variety of factors such as the juices from the tomatoes or the fried egg having been broken and the egg yolk leaks out and drenches the burger. It's a simple mistake that can be remedied with further communication therefore I don't regard it as a big problem nor do I fault the cook for the outcome. Service: The staff and proprietor are down to earth, warm, and friendly. Price: Reasonable and affordable. read more

Patty Meets Bun food truck in Temple City! Cute personalized boxes! This is the most delicious thing I have eaten in a long time!! Banh Mi burger with rosemary garlic fries for me: lemongrass patty, pickled carrots, cucumbers, cilantro and mayo. I would seriously work out every day just so I can eat this burger every day! The fries were so crispy and aromatic. The burger flavors were perfect!! Prime Rib burger for hubby: steak seasoned patty, creamed corn, rosemary garlic glaze, horseradish sauce. He loved this one! Pros: 1. The fries are so good! Maybe some of the best fries I've had. Light and toasty/crispy, and very addicting. Nowadays fries are masked by all the toppings and it's hard to find "naked" fries where they shine by just being fried perfectly. I went for the burgers, but will probably go back because of the fries. 2. The burgers are good too. Had the carne asada (which is more wet/messy) and the banh mi (which is not messy), and each has its own distinct flavor. 3. The staff was friendly and nice. Cons: 1. The zucchini fries are just OK imo. Maybe because I expected them to be battered and fried instead of grilled. Next time I'm doubling up on fries instead. read more

Always on the hunt for good eats around our area and came across the hunger-inducing photos and great reviews of Patty Meets Bun...the very next day me and the hubs tried their Lomo Saltado and Chimichurri burgers. Photos and reviews were not exaggerating...PMB's fusion burgers are some of the best I've had! I love classic burgers and feel fusion ones are usually too over the top but PMB's versions are refined and the flavors are distinct and enjoyable. The bun holds up the well-sized patty, toppings and sauces very well. The rosemary garlic fried are light and perfectly crispy. We had an opportunity to have PMB cater our company anniversary party as well. I mean, after tasting their burgers I wanted to share the goodness with the world so I had to hire them. The owners were a pleasure to work with and made everything simple and smooth! Our employees loooooved the food and are still raving about it! read more
Found this gem from SGV EATS and it definitely did not disappoint!! I went during lunch hour and waited 20 minutes but it's definitely worth the wait!!! The service is awesome and the lady even made sure to ask if I was willing to wait because it's going to take awhile but I didn't mind at all. I got the Chimichurri Burger and Prime Rib Burger with the rosemary fries and grilled zucchini fries. Both were really good!! The Chimichurri burger was a lot different than other burgers I've tried. It was really unique and had a really strong taste of herbs which I never had before. I personally thought the burger was a bit dry compared to the prime rib burger. The prime rib burger was delicious and the sauce along with the corn pieces really balanced well with the burger. The patty for both of the burgers tasted really fresh and moist which I enjoyed a lot. The rosemary fries is SO good!! It's so well seasoned and perfectly made where each fry is crispy and it wasn't soggy at all. However the grilled zucchini fries was a bit messy to eat and the oil soaked through the paper box so watch out for that!! But other than that the zucchini fries was delicious and the cheese on top added a good flavor to it! read more

My first time eating here. Tried this place from a recommendation from the Facebook group SGV EATS. I ordered the Banh Ni burger, The Torta Burger, and The Lomo saltido fries. (secret menu item) Banh Mi Burger- Wife ate it, said it was very delicious. Torta Burger - It was tasty. The red cabbage gives it a nice crunch. The patty is nice and juicy. The avocado is a nice addition. The Lomo Saltido fries - this is the real star IMO. I didn't know what to expect but man, I'm glad I tried it. little pieces of beef in combination with red onion, cilantro, and tomato smothered on top of crispy fries. I saw the chef prepared it as I was patiently waiting and man, it was like watching an artist creating a masterpiece. I will return for sure to try other items. read more

Iv'e been eating here for a while now and there is a reason why I keep coming back . I have yet to have fusion burgers that top this truck. The Banh mi burger is perfectly marinated and the lomo Saltado is very saucey. It's no surprise why they keep getting booked for private events.
