We got the chicken and ground beef tacos, and we even got free gold chimichanga from the kitchen because they made an extra serving, and it was DELICIOUS. By far an entirely the worst food I have ever had in my entire existence. The food at the taco trucks is 100 times better. We pass this place for five years and decide to try them and regretted every single second. The girl making the order didn't in English or Spanish, the beans and rice were deplorably , she was too lazy to roll the meat for the enchilada so my wife ate soft tacos with Velveeta white cheese covered over. I would not feed this to an animal at this point that's how bad it was. The manager was taking another the to be yelling over our shoulders while the girl making our order couldn't even understand what the heck we were saying. I will be contacting the department tomorrow to send them in with because you shouldn't be allowed to serve I would suggest to anybody in the world to go somewhere else in the world than this place read more

I have been going to the downtown location for a very long time, that goes back to when the downtown location had a fire. Used to love going here and would go two to three times a week. This location has gone down tremendously, from quality to quantity. It is a hit or miss when the food is good. It's a shame because my co-workers and I really loved getting lunch from here as it is convenient and once was tasteful. read more

This is the worst food I ever ate.... There was not a soul in the restaurant when we went in and that should have been a sign a huge sign not to go but we had no choice at the moment. The hot sauce was so hot it my husband choked on it and had to wipe it off the tamales. Also they charged us 45$ for 2 plates it was only two tamales small side of rice and small side of beans. They didn't even wanna talk to us when we came in didn't greet us or anything. We haven't been here in awhile as they are kinda out of the way from our neighborhood. BUT.... I think we have determined that they are worth the little drive after this trip. YUM! The ONLY thing my hubby said he didn't like is that they don't have a Chicken Tortilla Soup :-) He got the Taco Salad & commented that it was even better than most more expensive sit down Mexican restaurants. He appreciated that the beans in his salad were black beans instead of the typically used canned refried beans you are served. I was happy to try the Birria Tacos... OUTSTANDING!! I talked my hubby into trying their Elote. My hubby isn't into trying too many flavor mashed ups, but he really liked their Elote. Their service there was terrific. The 2 young men behind the counter were happy to give me a teensy bite of their Birria meat to see if it would be too spicy for my tastes that night which I truly appreciated. The guys were very friendly & welcoming & happy to explain any questions we had. They have counter service at this location. Not sure about other locations. They give you a cup to serve yourself from the ice & soda dispenser. They also have housemade Horchata that is so very delicious. We ordered at the counter & they brought it to our table. I'm not sure if this was because we were the only customers at the time. Very casual with tables & about 6 big cushy & clean booths. Cutsie Mexican decorations. Restaurant is located in a strip plaza that has a Publix. I joked with the staff & my hubby that I couldn't understand why someone would waste their money & go to the McDonald's that is in this strip plaza when they could get such outstanding food for about the same price. Prices at Tacos El Rancho are VERY reasonable!! And the quality is also there. Yeah, we will try to make the trip again vs. other Mexican restaurants. read more

Honestly you can eat tacos way cheaper at many other places, I bought one taco and the cost $3.79 so overpaid, the tortilla was so soft, I ended up eating it with fork, all the food inside went straight from the tortilla to my plate. Tacos El Ranchero was a great place to pick up lunch. My niece and I got a pedicure across the street and she suggested the place and said it was pretty good and I have to agree with her. It's a small spot packing a ton a punch! I ordered the taco salad with beef and all the trimmings. The last time I ordered a taco salad from another restaurant the meat was cold and yucky. Not here! The meat was warm and fresh along with all the ingredients. The taco shell itself was light and crispy. I also ordered a side of guacamole and chips. The guacamole was smooth and creamy and the chips were warm. There was some seating for dine in but we were in a hurry so we took it to go. Can't wait to try a burrito next time. This is a great local Spanish spot! I love the food so far. I usually get the shrimp burrito with chips & queso! Prices are a little high for the seafood options. I have also tried the beef burrito and it was delicious too. Inside is clean with indoor seating, the staff is always nice and helpful with menu. They have spanish and English speaking staff. The bathrooms are clean and the restaurant itself is clean as well! I brought my aunt when she was in town visiting and she ordered the taco salad with ground beef and thought it was delicious. All of their ingredients are very yummy and fresh! You can add guac on the side work any order which is nice! I suggest this place to anyone looking for great local spanish food! What a "Taco Tuesday" for me! I had the opportunity to come to Tacos El Racho, which is right near the gym I have been going to. I have been craving some tacos ever since I've got to Orlando and I am happy to say, my craving has been quenched. As soon as I walk in, I was greeted with great energy and attitude and was welcomed to review the menu and then place my order! I knew I was going in for tacos, it was just a matter of what content I wanted in the tacos. I opted to go for the Fish taco, S.Beef Taco, S. Chicken taco with the side of a Mexican style corn! I gave Taco El Rancho a 4 star, due to the amazing customer service and 3 out of the 4 items I ordered being very good! Unfortunately, the fish tacos, had a taste and texture that had me thinking, "If I throw this up, it will probably come out the same as it was before I devoured it." Fish tacos are hit or miss for places anyway so I don't find it too big of a deal, but, would not recommend. The contents with the beef and chicken were quite loaded and my whole meal came out too under $14 with a 15% tip. With a great price, amazing service, and my food choice experience this time around, I would recommend highly to go, especially on a Tuesday for discounted tacos, but not to order the fish tacos. read more

I ordered on the Tacos El Rancho site for delivery. I had a total of seven items that I ordered. One of them was missing completely, one of them was the wrong item, the order of three tacos only had one taco that was made correctly. The other two were not and they were supposed to all be the same. The burrito was not made per my order either. When I called to tell them they told me I could come in and pick up the missing item and the incorrect item. I paid $8 to have this delivered, plus I tipped the store and the driver. I paid an extra $16 to have this delivered so I didn't have to drive. I asked for a refund of the missing item and the incorrect item but not even sure they are going to process that. I didn't even realize that 2 of the tacos had no toppings and the burrito had no refried beans when I called. pretty disappointing all around. read more

Yum! My friend and I decided to check out Tacos El Rancho on our way home from the airport. We had been craving Mexican and heard good things so we said lets go! I got the sopes and chips and guac and she got a tamale, a shrimp taco and the elote. Everything was AWESOME. Oh yeah, we also each got a margarita which was yummy as well. There were about 4 employees there who none of which looked over early 20's and they did a great job of handling the constant flow of customers. We read on their shirts that they are known for their enchiladas so we both agreed we'll have to try those next time. We saw previous reviews and thought we'd give it a shot for lunch. My mom and I are always up for Mexican food. The impression I got from the reviews was that I was expecting something like a Tijuana Flats. Yes, you order at the counter, but they plate everything in front of you more like a Chipotle. I got 3 beef tacos. The hot sauce is hot. Theyre not kidding about that. But I love me some spice! My mom had a taco salad and was very plain. She wouldn't get it again. I've actually had food from here multiple times and kept forgetting to review! This place is kind of like a Chipotle, but better! The food tastes more fresh in my opinion. The staff are always friendly and helpful. I wouldn't say it's the best for authentic Mexican but for a quick service Mexican inspired place it's quite good. On my most recent visit I got a chicken taco, chicken quesadilla, and a side of rice. My boyfriend got a taco salad. For the taco salad, it's his absolute favorite. And it's a HUGE salad! The chicken tacos are always solid and fresh tasting. They have the option to add fresh cilantro which I love. The chicken quesadilla was good. I have also had their chimichanga which is covered in a cheesy sauce. Yum! I love different types of Spanish rice dishes from all types of cuisine. This one is a bit bland but still has a light flavor that I like when I am not in the mood for anything heavily seasoned. Orlando has many great Mexican/Mexican style restaurants. Tacos El Rancho is definitely one worthy of trying and it stays in my rotation when I am craving some tasty food at reasonable prices. read more

Again, this is an instance where I wish we had a half star system as my true rating would be a 2.5. I had high hopes for Tacos El Rancho as I was craving authentic Mexican cuisine, but I'm pretty sure "authentic" Mexican cuisine has more flavor (ok, yes - sounds harsh, but just wait - I'll list some positives too!). This non-chain establishment is on the corner of a shopping plaza and you either have a view of the McDonald's drive thru or a busy street. However, if you focus on the kitschy, colorful decor on the inside, it makes for a better meal time scene. This is one of those order and get- your -meal -at -the -counter -before-you-sit-down type of place and the staff members are very friendly (see, positive!). It's also kinda high tech as they have some futuristic looking cash register that looked like the latest Apple creation. The prices are also fair for the amount of food you get. Ok, now the food...well, it looked pretty, but did not taste pretty or much like anything for that matter. I ordered the chicken tacos with hard shells and the mild sauce in top. I would say that they should really call it more if a medium sauce regarding its heat level, but it did add to the otherwise bland tacos. The chicken looked seasoned - with an orangey brownish color - but it was very bland. I also ordered a cup of chicken tortilla soup - also bland. The broth tasted like water that perhaps a chicken jumped in and out of quickly as there was no chicken flavor - not even the chicken tasted like chicken. Good Mexican restaurant with variety of choices from the traditional taco, burrito and even Mexican tamales. There's a couple of Mexican drinks like horchata and several types of beers. Very similar to a "hole on the wall" type of place that gives it an authentic vibe. The particular item that I ordered was a bean and rice burrito. I was able to choose the toppings that I wanted and also added guacamole. The person who made my burrito, I believe made it too fast. Halfway through eating my burrito it started to fall apart. I love Tacos El Ranchero as a franchise, but this location in by far THE worst I have ever been to. Its been on the steady decline but my last visit was the last chance I will be giving them. Trying to order was frustrating as both people behind the counter were basically whispering while the music was blasting over them. They couldn't seem to understand what I was saying when I tried ordering a gold burrito, and what I got was absolutely not a gold burrito. They over stuffed the tortilla, put all the toppings inside, and then slathered it in luke warm queso. Afterwards my stomach hurt and I knew I shouldn't have eaten it, when the queso had visible chunks in it where the cheese was curdled and looked to have water poured in to make it liquid again. The inside of the burrito wasn't even warm it was cold. If you're thinking of stopping here, don't. Try La Fiesta or Los Generales instead. read more

Was craving some good/quick Mexican food, so went to trusty Yelp to see what I could find close by. After walking into Tacos El Rancho, I figured out this was actually my 2nd time trying it. Found out that I had tried them previously at their downtown location. It was fairly busy for dinner and I had maybe 6 people ahead of me in line. I was excited when I recognized the menu because of my previous great experience. I ordered the golden burrito with rice, beans, chicken, tomato, cheese, and cilantro - all of this covered in delicious queso, Yum! Every employee on the line was really nice and helpful. The burrito was delicious with the exception of the chicken. It was cut into tiny pieces that were actually hard and difficult to bite into. I was so disappointed because the rest of it was fantastic, but the chicken seemed to ruin the entire dish for me. Despite that, this place I still find better than Moe's.. upgrade the chicken a bit, I'll come here over Chipotle in a heartbeat :) read more

Who knew! I have been working near this little hole in the wall for 10 years, not sure if it's been there that long but I spotted it about a year ago and I told myself I would stop in one day. Well I had a craving for tacos which I normally do.... every day! I didn't want any old tacos, I wanted something different and a little more authentic, this was it. The first time I went, I ordered 2 steak and one chicken taco, the second time I ordered two al pastor and one chicken. The tacos were really good. The service was fast, the tacos were full and the taste was good. They have a small seating area and lots of choices besides the tacos. I'm not that adventurous, so I went with the 3 taco option. Ok, sorry but this review is way too long over due for me. I've been here 3 years in the area from NYC and this spot is so close to my place and I only been here 3 times? That's a damn shame smh. This place is pretty cool, the ambience makes you feel like your in Mexico with the feel of the place, small and clean and cute decor, also Mexican music playing in the background while you eat. Some people may not agree with me but I don't care! For a quick Mexican fix not really true Mexican but really close the food is really amazing! Yes I know I can honestly say they have the meat sitting in tins here pre cooked like chipotle style but this place takes Taco Bell and chipotle even though both places are really good this place is a bit fresher tasting Mexican food.
