I just so happen to find this restaurant taking a scroll downtown. I was happy to caught the happy out and luckily there was live music sponsored by the city of Orlando. The service was great, the prices were a good price point and the margaritas were refreshing! The patio area was a great atmosphere. A great location to wind down after work.

We stopped in before seeing a show at Dr Phillips. Great location. Clean and fun decor. We were seated right away. Chips and salsa were on the table right away. Fresh and delicious. Large portions and everything was exactly as ordered.

Birria 1983 is a Mexican restaurant right on Church St across from the 55 West. The restaurant is decorated very pretty and colorful. It is also very spacious. The staff was great, the food was tasty and I thought prices were economical to be on Church St.

Delicious food. Dishes from Mexico & Chile. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable. & attentive. I got the birria loaded fries. The portions are big. That makes me happy. I have food for tomorrow. Definitely a place to check out.

Tried Birria1983 for lunch and really enjoyed it! Our server was very kind in accommodating our seating and brought us chips and salsa to start. Wasn't a huge fan of the salsa as it was rather watery, but not bad to taste. We ordered the Creamy Esquite to share and it was so so delicious! The perfect balance of creamy and citrusy thanks to the lime on the side. I ordered off of the lunch menu and got the Quesabirria tacos that came with rice and beans. The tacos hit the spot! The rice and beans in the side were solid, but tasted very standard. The star was truly the tacos. Great lunch spot at a great price, would definitely come back!

I stopped here before watching a show at Dr. Phillips. We stopped in about 2 hours before show time and had plenty of time to eat, get checks, and walk to the theater. It was not very busy and our server was quick and attentive. I ordered the mushroom tacos and they were ok. I felt like they were lacking in flavor, but the sauce helped with that. My daughter ordered the tik tok quesadilla and raved about it. It's nice to have this option as a place to eat before seeing a show or a game/concert as it is walking distance to both Dr. Phillips and the Kia Center.

Such a yummy spot for Birria! I love their taco salad because they put a ton of Birria on it! Very friendly staff. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. In a cute part of Orlando!

This is a fun, casual restaurant that has lots of birria options- tacos, burgers, ramen- perfect for fulfilling your birria needs. It cost around $45 for 3 tacos and taco salad, and the food was very solid. We were both full after. The restaurant itself is clean, the facilities are fairly well maintained, and the staff are very attentive and friendly.

Free chips and salsa so that's already for me (especially around downtown). The Burris taco was decently sized and was tasty. I always ask for extra lime which they generously gave. Server was good and friendly

Fun place to have dinner before the magic game. Walking distance to the game and just done the elevator from the parking structure. Birria soup was really good and the salad was super tasty! Tostones were full of flavor and well cooked! ask for the Chilean menu for other options. The empanada was huge and also tasty! Salsa was also very good and served in clay pots. Bar area was nice with live plants and cute signs around the restaurant making for a nice ambience. Service was fast since we were on our way to the game! We saw other tables with burritos and they looked huge. Definitely a good pregame Spot!

Was a good last-minute spot we were looking for something to eat after participating in an improv show across the street. There is outdoor seating as well and the decor inside gave an upscale Mexican cantina vibe. The service was extremely slow, but the food was really good so if you're in the area, I do recommend you try it if you have time to spare.

Ok, so this is a great place to grab a bite to eat. The only thing I'm not to crazy about is the parking situation. That usually turns me off when it comes to visiting places in downtown. You either have to pay to park or play the waiting game. But anyways that's not the point. The point here is that it's a great place with scrumptious food. You can't go wrong with this one. No wonder I've heard many great things about this place! We had to wait a few minutes to be seated. But it wasn't too long of a wait. They served us some chips and dip! Simple but delicious! I really wanted to try the birria ramen but it was way too hot outdoors that I really just preferred having something that wasn't going to keep me hot. So I ordered the birria tacos instead with the passionfruit mojito. My husband asked for the birria churrasco. It was definitely hard to decide though because man oh man everything on the menu looked amazing. And seeing all the food around us that was being served and the smells of all the foods passing our table was almost unbearable to stand. Our mouth was watering like a baby drooling and a little fussy because the hunger overload kicked in. Once our food arrived we dug in and oh boy! Was it the best and exactly what we needed and it hit the spot just right! Nice and hot! Made fresh and ready to devour! One of the best authentic Mexican food here in Orlando. Glad we were able to experience it!

An interesting place for sure ! Their menu is extensive and the food was relatively good! I am looking forward to going back to try more of their menu. We had the Tostones Deluxe with chicken and the sizes were decent for the 14 dollars . The bartender was really nice but I don't think spoke much English and was checking himself out on his phone most the time lol. The vibe of the place was okay, I think I was looking for something not so fast casual for the price. I was hoping for something authentic Mexican but this felt a little commercialized which is okay, but it just felt like a fast food restaurant.

Disclaimer: this review is for the lunch buffet only…read more I went with my family to try the $18.49 all you can eat lunch buffet. This was my first time experiencing a buffet for hispanic food and for this price point in Orlando, this is an amazing value deal. The server regularly brought us out silverware, napkins, and refilled our water. The place is decorated very fun and plays latin music which was lovely Not only was there an unlimited assortment of lunch foods, but an entire bar of fresh toppings for tacos (or rice bowls) and made to order desserts which were included for free! Not everything on the buffet line was the best but given the amount of options, price, and how good the great items are this is still worth a five star rating. I unfortunately did not take pictures of the food before I began devouring everything in sight to the point of near-collapse, but I will do a quick rundown of the buffet highlights: The best meats were the fajita steak, chicken, and shrimp made fresh in cast iron skillets, as well as the chicken lengua which was super flavorful and tender. The mexican rice, beans, fajitas, plantains, and street corn were also excellent. Fresh quesadillas, chips, and corn tortillas on standby with homemade queso and salsas. The flan and mini churros were the best I've ever had. Super rich, decadent Carmel flan. Mini churros hot and crisp on the outside, filled with a gooey soft milk chocolate center. They were delicious. Items that were disappointing: the tamales, mini chicken flautas, and beef chimichangas were just okay, lacking the seasoning and flavor that other dishes had. The beef barbacoa was not as tender or flavorful as the shredded chicken surprisingly. The mixed seafood was itself a mixed bag with some shrimps / scallops overcooked to much while others were perfectly cooked. The chicken mole and beef tri tip were room temperature despite sitting on hot plates. The tri tip also varied widely in doneness throughout the slices and not super tender. The rice pudding was pretty standard, and the tres leches cake was weird as they crumbled the cake into pieces before soaking it.

When I sat down, I ordered the frozen Margarita flight, which came with a watermelon, mango, and strawberry Margarita. All of them were pretty good, but by far the mango was my favorite. It tasted just like you were drinking mango nectar. For my entrée, I ordered the Carne Asada tacos. They had such a great taste, and the portion size was quite generous. I ordered it with rice and beans, and it all left me feeling quite full. The atmosphere is also quite nice. With it being in the heart of downtown orlando, I thought it might be loud and busy in there, but it was actually quite quiet and relaxing. The service was also very quick and prompt to get all of our food. Our waitress made sure to check in with us throughout service to see what we needed!

When we arrived, the restaurant was practically empty, there was no hostess, and we had to wait to be acknowledged. Our server (a Hispanic woman with heavy goth-style makeup--I didn't catch her name) was polite enough, but there were several missed opportunities to improve the experience. The biggest issue was that they were out of multiple menu items we specifically came to try. We had also planned on ordering the duck-themed cocktail that was pictured online, only to be told, "We don't do that anymore." If that's the case, the menu and promotional photos should really be updated. Food: * Chicken Nachos - 3/10: Mostly burnt chips with hard, unmelted cheese. There was barely any chicken, and they lacked flavor. * Watermelon Margarita - 0/10: It was extremely sour. I sent it back and ordered a frozen margarita instead. * Frozen Margarita - Average at best. What was frustrating is that happy hour started about seven minutes later, and our server never mentioned that nearly everything we ordered would have been half-price. A heads-up would have been appreciated. * Street Corn - 6/10: The tableside presentation of cutting it off the cob was nice, but that's really what you're paying for. It could have used much more seasoning, and only two small pieces of corn were served. * Shrimp Tacos - 2/10 * Fish Tacos - 2/10: Both were soggy and lacked flavor. * Spanish Rice - 1/10: Bland and disappointing. Overall, the food was underwhelming, several advertised menu items and drinks weren't available, and the service missed opportunities to enhance the experience. For the prices, I expected much better quality, better communication about happy hour, and a menu that matched what was actually being offered. Unfortunately, I don't see myself returning.
