So I need to stop getting excited when I see places outside of my home state that sell California burritos as 9/10 times they are a total letdown! Coming here was what one would call lack of options and this place clearly takes advantage of people in this area as $22 for a burrito and a small drink is definitely a bit high! So let's talk California Burritos and how much rice they put in mine it might have well just been a rice burrito as that was what the majority of it was which I've never had a California burrito with rice as it's not one of the core ingredients of it. So the burrito was edible at best as it had rice beans a small amount of their so called hot salsa some carne asada as well as cheese sour cream and a small amount of fry's and did I mention the rice it had enough of it that it should have been called a Cali Rice Burrito! The burrito was lacking flavor very much so as it was all bland with the most flavor was when I bit into the chunks of raw onion which I didn't mind because I like raw onions but it definitely made me crave a real Cali burrito so you know what I'm making at home sometime in the next week! So I'm not sure what's up but I really didn't enjoy the service I received here either as it felt like an off vibe the energy wasn't there and that clearly reflected in the food too! Overall I wouldn't come back here again as I've had better Mexican food elsewhere in Orlando especially California Burritos so do yourself a favor and go somewhere else there are a few other places in the area! read more

I was at the courthouse for jury duty and during the lunch break, this place won the battle of WTF should I eat. It wasn't a hard battle as I really like tacos. I ordered 3 tacos which is NEVER enough for me and that held true here. I was still hungry when I left but I also didn't want to stuff myself as I'd probably be having to excuse myself a bunch of times. I like when taco places have different toppings for different types of tacos and here, it was the same options for every taco from what I could tell. I got the Gold Chimichanga which I believe is their specialty since the t shirts the workers wore claim they have the best ones in Orlando. I wanted lengua as my meat option but they were out so I got carne asada instead. I also got a Pina to drink. Now this food isn't authentic Mexican and was average at best. The Chimichanga was more chewy than crispy as it wasnt fried long enough. The carne asada was low equally beef. The topping were decent. The entire time I was eating I couldn't help but think this was just drunk people food and the only reason this place has business is because if it's close proximity to downtown and it being open late. Now don't get me wrong the food isn't terrible, it's just not that good. With the watered down pina this wasn't worth the $20-$21. I highly doubt I'd be returning. read more

Went here to try out the restaurant and already knew what I want to order, I ordered the big shell with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream (which they forgot to add,no big issue) and steak which was a little bit cold. Otherwise I think everything else was really really good, I like the way that they used a small space they have to really make you feel like you were in an authentic restaurant in the heart of Mexico. Do you like tacos? Low prices? House-made RumChata? Of course you do! (If not, move along. This world isn't for you.) Tacos El Rancho is a great place to get your taco fix fast and cheap while working downtown. They have all your standard Mexican food items with a "subway" styled prep line. For example, I ordered the sopes. Since there were three, I got to select three different meat/bean/topping combos. I really liked the options! There's a spicy shredded beef that's surprisingly good, a pineapple chunk and beef option, and several others that looked great. The chopped chicken (plain) was just average. You can also choose from refried black beans or refried pinto beans. Essentially, you get to create your own options. If you get the taco salad or a burrito, you still get to pick the toppings. I enjoy this variety. However, they kind of hide the sauce options so be sure to ask what's available. Hot sauces are by the drink fountain. Also, they sell house-made RumChata, $4 margaritas and other festive beverages! Sadly, I have not been able to sample theses delicacies as I've only been here on work days. You should try them for me and report back. Overall, this is a solid place for cheap Mexican food. It's not fancy or particularly unique, but it's the comfort junk food you're seeking. read more
