Honduran a Mexican cuisine, similar cultures that work well together. I've been several times and have tried different dishes, some of my favorite Mexican dishes, did not disappoint. The owner and server suggested some of her Honduran specialties, yum. I love the Honduran tamales, your choice of pork or chicken, wrapped in banana leaves. The pork tamales (my fav) is a small bone in pork rib in masa and light tomato sauce). Try the salsa Verde, home made in a squeeze bottle, a spicer red is also available. There is not the typical tomato salsa and chips served before the meal. We did order chips and queso, and the chips came out fresh from the fryer. There are several tvs showing Latin music or videos and a pool table for entertainment. Definitely different from the normal Mexican food but delicious. Delicious authentic Honduran food Was craving a papusa and searched through Yelp. Fortunately Mi Raza was close to home. The cheese filled papusas were perfect served with a mild salsa and cabbage salad. At $3 each they were quite filling though not heavy. If you have never had a Honduran tamale please give it a try. Disappointed!! I ordered pupusas but I personally didn't like them. The beans tasted like can frijoles and the cheese was not the correct one. The salsa also tastes like jar and the curtido was tasteless. I won't be eating here again. Plus the prices are ridiculous expensive . read more

We were hoping for a great experience but were sadly disappointed. Our regular Mexican place was closed because it was 12/31, so we tried this place. First, we thought this was a Mexican restaurant but learned this is a Mexican and Honduran restaurant. You know when you expect something and get something else? :::sigh::: That's kind of how it was. Unfortunately, my tostada dinner sat in a puddle of cooking oil. I love a good EVOO, but this was different- vegetable cooking oil. Picking it up to eat or eating with fork and knife made no difference. I can't even say it was tasty. It was just... bad. (Learned the Honduran name for Tostada is enchilada) The "pateliteo" (equivalent to empanada) was deep fried in oil and overly greasy on the outside. Good ingredients and taste on the inside, but when you eat an empanada, it's a full package and the excessive outside oil tarnished the dish. I thought we were going for Mexican food and instead got a lesser quality food saturated in oil. Transparently, our server wasn't friendly either. I had heard that I needed to try pupusas and baleadas so I knew we had to try that. We'll let me tell you that not only did I love it but I wanted more of it!! They were both sooo delicious omg. The pupusas had chicharrón (pork rinds) inside and the baleadas has eggs, beans and meat. Anyone going for the first time, you should try their pupusas, baleadas and taquitos. If your looking for great food, your at the right place. If your looking for a super clean place this is not so much. Going down 436 there are plenty of Spanish food options decided to give this place a shot. Came in around 4pm. The place was empty. One side is a restaurant and the other side has a pool table. Pretty much a bar area. The menu was big plenty of options, the menu was split with Honduran and Mexican items. Lots of steak options but I leaned towards the fajitas. The fajitas chicken and steak was cooked perfectly. Juicy and very flavourful. The onions and peppers were also on point. And they provide the real median tortillas. Loved it. Only thing I didn't like besides the heavy beer stench seeped into the floors was that the soda came from bottles. Got a Mexican sprint would of opted for a Jarito instead. Food was tasty, had lots of flavor and good price. I loved the bottled drinks something about it makes it nostalgic and taste sweeter. The papusa was nice and cheesy and the carrot salad on the side was zesty and had a little bit of spice to it, very good. The parrillada mejicana had a great amount of protein and came with a side of rice, guacamole and tortillas, extra filling plate good enough for two people. The restaurant itself was pretty decent seems like they do a lot of gatherings there, next to it were plenty of pool tables. We were headed to the place next door to play pool and grab a bite to eat but their cook was not I in for some reason...so we came here and the food was wonderful the staff doesn't speak very much English but when you order they understand. I've been a customer at this restaurant for years. I'm beyond disappointed with the service today. For reference I'm at this establishment at least once a week. Cuephoria( billiards) a business is right next to it, which I'm often at. Today I ordered a menu item I ALWAYS get when I dine it at the restaurant, the usual item I ordered surprisingly was double the price. My fiancé place the order over the phone and picked up in person without hesitation. When he told me how much the price was I was surprised. It was double the price. I went back and addressed this and was attended by the waitress that I've come in contact with multiple times. I left. Overthinking the situation and feeling how un loyal I was treated I spoke with the owner. The un loyalty was not addressed. He thought refunding me HALF of the item would make me happy, he did not understand the PRINCIPLE OF CUSTOMER LOYALTY. The money was not the issue I supported this restaurant which was by minimum subpar. It was local so I adapted and you can't find Central American food like such locally. I'm half hondureña and would expect again a little bit of loyalty to the race. I'm beyond disappointed. I'm unfortunately after all these years would not be going back. This place is probably the best Hispanic restaurant ever! Our waiter was very kind. My mom and stepdad got coffee. My mom said the coffee was really good. I got a mango juice with water instead of milk. It was the best mango juice I've ever had. My parents got a baliada. It was HUGE. I got pupusas they were the best thing I've ever had in my life. The service was really fast. At one point my sauce ran out and the waiter got the sauce container full in less than a minute! Either way this restaurant deserves more customers. read more
