Amazing chicken tacos! Eat here at least twice a week! Great owners and fantastic food! You won't be disappointed!

My mom and I were tired and hangry, about to give up on finding a place to eat and just go home, when we stumbled upon Taco Rio. Stepping inside this little hidden gem felt like being transported into another world. The decorations were warm, fun, and inviting. The cheerful wall colors, vibrant music, and artwork everywhere gave the place so much personality. It's a cozy little mom-and-pop Mexican Restaurant and you can really feel the love that's been poured into it -- and you can taste it, too! I ordered a steak chimichanga (100% recommended), and my mom got the Chicago burrito. I cleared my plate! The portion sizes were just right, and everything was so flavorful. The prices were very reasonable -- honestly, for the quality, it feels like an incredible value. Ramon and the woman who served us were incredibly welcoming and friendly. We even loved the lime slices they added to our water -- such a simple touch, but so refreshing. This place is a precious part of Orlando and deserves to be protected. I ordered 2 (chicken) taco combo. I received (crispy dry beef) the tacos were dry, the beans were crunchy. The restaurant was very clean, however no customers at 12:15 pm. They also did not have toilet paper in the bathroom, just paper towels. read more

very disappointed with the food I ordered tacos to go , first it was a wrong order, and second the taco meat was all burnt crispy and black mostly all fat couldn't even chew it , never going back there again!!! read more

Taco Rio Mexican Kitchen is a small Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall on Semoran Boulevard that has definitely seen better days. This shopping plaza used to have the Presidente supermarket as its anchor store, but pulling in, I saw that Presidente supermarket appears closed with paper covering the windows. While they have an advertised special of ten tacos for twenty dollars, the price has increased to twenty-five dollars. This is understandable with the current climate where we are dealing with runaway inflation, but they should let us know about the price increase. I only got takeout, but the service while I was here, the staff was friendly and professional. Upon getting home, we tore into our huge spread of food. The food was not bad, but it was nothing special either. I do not know if they were having an off day or if this is the norm. I do not know if I would return. Stopped in this plaza for H&R Block, but after we we're hungry and this place a few doors down. To start, this plaza needs some work. Trash in parking lot and a gang of guys hanging out nearby. Regardless, we went in. Interior? Bigger than I expected. Lots of decor, maybe a little too much, but thats just ascetics. The staff, sweet. We were there early, but the host/server was great. Food came out pretty fast and presented nicely. Food: We both order tacos, comes with rice and beans- however there is much more on their menu. The tacos were great. I had a pastor taco and a carnitas. The carnitas? Definitely my favorite! Crispy ends to the meat, tender and yummy. When it comes to Mexican? I always judge on their refried beans. Theirs were great. I ordered a michelada for drink, perfect. Bottom line? If you're in the neighborhood and want an inexpensive lunch, casual, I'd recommend and go again. A solid three. While chips and queso are not truly Mexican this queso was Tostitos nacho cheese at best like the cheese from the movie theater. The tacos were very flavorful. Loved the beans. The rice was ok. My favorite thing was the horchata to be honest. All in all it was just ok as another mentioned. Would I go back yes would I be In a hurry no. read more

The tacos were amazing, they have a great 10 tacos for $20 deal. The frijoles were delicious and of red beans (i'm pretty sure) which you don't see often. Extremely well decorated on the inside and music playing too so great vibes! Totally recommend! It's neat as well. the only improvement I'd suggest is better service, the waiters didn't get up to ask how the food was or if we needed anything. Everything else 10/10 read more

I stopped by here for lunch and they had a lunch special. It was recommended to me by my coworker and she said the food here was really good and cheap too. I had to try it since we were in the area. This is the second location and the first one, she had been before too. I ordered the lunch special and I saw some stew ribs cooking on the stove and they said that was one of the options for the lunch special, so I got it. The food was really tasty and flavorful. Went here expecting the normal Mexican type food, but I was blown away on how good the food is here. It really reminds me of my Mexican food spots back in San Diego, CA. This hidden gem is a MUST have! The gentleman behind the counter and the lady cooking were extremely nice, polite and friendly. I got the chicken mexicana taco and the chorizo supreme taco. The tortillas are INCREDIBLE. Super fresh and soft. The meat melted in my mouth. Tons of flavor and very affordable. They have homemade orchata which was to die for. Their salsa (also homemade) was the perfect amount of spicy. Some of the best Mexican food I've ever had and definitely the best I've found in Orlando! We went here because of the ratings. It was tied for the worst Mexican Restaurant we have been to. The service was slow bringing our food out. One dish got there I would say 10 minutes after the last one. I had the Vegetable Burrito and it was not too bad, might of been better if it is had any flavor. The other three meals were bad tasting or no taste at all. The tacos were cold. The meat was over cooked or was just reheated...no flavor and tough. We asked for no onions and we got onions. We asked for ground beef and the waitress did not know what we were talking about...we got over cooked and chewy beef. Salt and pepper might of helped, but no pepper available.
