Strictly based on tacos, this is my favorite place in Lompoc. I especially like how their pastor tacos come with a small piece of pineapple. I personally think it enhances the overall flavor of the taco when topped with onion/cilantro/salsa. So many different flavors that blend together in every bite. Their self serve salsa/condiment bar is great as well. If you like spicy, their smooth green sauce is the one to get! They all taste great but my personal favorites are the salsa molcajete, and green sauce. They have Jamaica(my favorite) and Horchata, as well as other fountain drinks/sodas available. read more

It was pretty good the cashier was very nice and patient. She explained what each item had in it. We ordered 2 wet burritos and they were ok . Carne Asada Torta: Dry, flavorless, and plain. When I opened the torta, there were a couple of pieces of avocado, a surplus of lettuce, one piece of a tomato, and flavorless and dry Asada. It's a little difficult to mess up a torta so I can honestly say it's the only bad one I've ever had. read more

They're lengua (tongue) was so savory and juicy. They cook your meat by the order. Really authentic place and amazing burritos!

This place is HORRIBLE! It has taken forever to get my burrito! And was horribly expensive. I asked for a salsa cup. And they only would give me one and the lady was arguing with me when I said I wanted two different types of salsa! Why do I have to struggle for that with an over priced burrito! A brought a group with me of seven people. And none of us liked our burritos. One person paid $8 for one and she said she didn't like it. I do not recommend coming here. Took forever to get my food and none of us left satisfied. We're not coming here again. read more

What great tacos! We stopped here on a whim and had some of the best al pastor and chorizo tacos ever! You dress them yourselves, which is nice. And at $1.75 each, you can't beat them. They brought us chips and bean dip. Highly recommend. read more

I've been here twice now since moving to Lompoc 3 months ago...the food is fantastic! It's kind of a hole in the wall place with generous portions of some of the best casual authentic Mexican food I've had! The staff is very friendly & the prices are very reasonable for the quality of food you get here. The chips & bean dip that come with your meal are delicious...they're frying up the chips in the kitchen and are fresh & warm when they get to the table. This trip I had the asada chimichanga. It was loaded with beef & cheese and was so yummy! My boyfriend had the cheese quesadilla each time & he loves it! Definitely a go-to place for casual delicious Mexican food! read more

Having been to Mexico on more than one occasion I have a passion for the taco el pastor. I cannot think of a better indulgence then a plate of taco el pastor with all the salsas. Dont expect a fancy dining, think Mexican Diner and excellent food. The prices are three times that of old Mexico which is still very good here. read more

We went quite a bit out of our way to come here just to try their authentic el Pastor (on the spit - with the pineapple on top). It's surprisingly hard to find this type of el Pastor, which is too bad. Anyway, theirs is very good, much better than others I've had, but not quite as good as Tacos el Gordo in Las Vegas (which are heaven sent). Bottom line: if you live near Lompoc, you should definitely eat here. Prices are reasonable too ($1.25 per taco). read more

I would like to think I'm a connoisseur when it comes to tacos el pastor and have to declare El Tizon's take on it is as the best I've ever had. The tortilla was warm and soft and clearly hand made. The meat had a nice crust on it and flavor-wise, it was second to none, resulting an umami-like experience. Their salsa bar is top notch and absolutely delicous. I'm not sure where to begin on this one. I'm a Mexican Food fanatic, yes I can eat it 7 days a week. This was my first one I decided to try while visiting. We ordered Carne Asada, El Pastor and Buche taco's,, and their beans you get free when dining in, however we chose to take it back to our room I was charged $2.00 for a sample size cup and a 5 lb bag of tortilla's. The Carne was a NOOOO go for us, it was tasteless and fried crispy to the point of burnt, the El Pastor was slightly better with some flavor, and the Buche the same as El Pastor, it did have some flavor. The salsa's were all hot and nooo flavor...how do you manage that? They had a fair amount of different salsa's and they all had something in common....NOOOOOOOO FLAVOR. The beans had a weird taste and should've been free whether dining in or to go. This is a place I would never visit again, and unfortunately I can only give them 1 star...Thanx yelp read more

First, the service was pretty good. They were nice and welcoming. However, the reason why I gave this three stars was because the food didn't taste like how it used to. My shrimp tasted like my friend's beef. I really suggest them cleaning their grill or something because the shrimp really disappointed me. The best tacos in Lompoc. I grew up in Lompoc and visit about 4 times a year. I've tried several of the Mexican restaurants and El Tizon is the best by far. The food is flavorful with a large selection of meats. They also do breakfast and plates with rice and beans. Make sure to sample the salsas as they are very good. read more

for lompoc, this is as good as it gets for tacos. my family just got takeout from here today. they all got 2 of nearly each taco on the menu, everyone was happy. I got the mushroom taco and also the corn cheese quesadilla which was an off menu special. the gal at the counter was friendly. yes there are tacos out there in the world that are probably superior but this was a refreshing find. the salsa bar was a really nice touch. the limes, radishes, and assortment of salsa were great. read more

It's small, it's very casual, (you order at the counter and they bring your food out to you at your table). it's authentic, and careful of the green sauce...it's really good, but it will kick butt! And it is a wonderful restaurant, with a large menu of choices from burritos and tacos to grilled tilapia. I love the chips and bean dip they serve instead of salsa, (though the salsa bar is open for everyone), while you are waiting for your food. Nice touch. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the TV's can be overwhelming. But you can't beat the prices for what you get. read more

I know people rant and rave about this place, but the two times I went, both things I got we're disgusting, and I actually got a piece of plastic in my burrito the second time!!!! The good it under seasoned and overpriced. The wait staff was kind of cold shouldered, but I think it might be because she didn't understand English enough to feel comfortable talking to me.
