Stayed in Rosarito for the weekend and of course I had to bring the boyfriend, from Chicago here. Perrones were absolutely amazing, fresh, and super quick even with the long line. The employees are fun to talk to and joke around with the customers as they're serving. Everyone seems happy and it's amazing to see... We love our coke out of bottles and they did not have. Could do with a beer, but there is a liquor store across the street. I did see a customer tip with beers and the staff was grateful (we did not see them crack em open tho). I know parking can be a B right there, but we didn't have any issues. Also cool to see horses parking there as well- something you won't see in Chicago so the boyfriend was like a little kid seeing a rancher w his big ole cowboy hat ride in on his horse for lunch. Probably been coming for 10 years now- smells are wonderful, food is always on point, super clean tables, plenty of seating, and great bathrooms. They only serve one kind (carne asada) but they do have the vegetarian option (no meat) but you'd be missing out for sure since the meat is delicious. INCREDIBLE carne asada tacos, best I've ever had. The meat is grilled over wood so it takes up so much flavor, and the tacos are topped with guac and salsa, as well as cheese if desired. After reading the reviews we knew we just had to check out this spot during our weekend trip to Rosarito. While we were prepared for the line, we were surprised at how long it was and, apparently, for very little reason. There are a lot of staff, which we watched for 2 hours, and we just could not figure out why things were not moving more quickly. It is still a mystery. Now, onto the food, it was good--but just good. Not great. Not fantastic. NOT worth the wait. There is so much amazing food in town, and I just do not see any reason to go here rather than another place that we can get our food faster and get back to our vacation (instead of standing in line). read more

I lived in Rosarito for 8 months in 2014 and ate here probably weekly (also ate a ton of tacos elsewhere in Rosarito!) I still dream of these tacos and have been back several times. Hands down, these were the best tacos I've ever had. Truly chefs kiss . These are pretty hefty tacos and so cheap, especially for the quality you get. We all got the perrones tacos, which are filled with carne asada, white beans, guac, and cheese. They grill the carne asada right off to the side and assemble right in front of you. Not your typical Rosarito street taco for sure. I've been coming to Rosarito for 30 years, never knew this place existed until now. From what I can see from other reviews, it's been here for quite some time but it was across the street. Maybe because I took a 10 year break or because I've always gone to the same place every time but thanks to Yelp, I've found this place and a few more gems here in town. The taco is large with melted cheese and mesquite grilled carne asada. Of course, salsa, onions, cilantro and guacamole. After previously stuffing myself with Al Pastor tacos, I barely had enough room for a "Perrones" taco but it was well worth the over indulgence. This isn't exactly what I expected when my girlfriend asked if I wanted to go to Mexico for lunch, but still a very delicious meal that you can't get in the states. Just a few blocks off the beach, you will find Tacos El Yaqui on the corner of two small streets. You'll know you're at the right place when you see the long line starting to wrap around the corner, but it's worth the wait. While you are standing in line, you'll start to smell the asada hitting the fire on the grill that's cooking right in front. It makes your mouth water and stomach growl as you move closer to the front of the line. They are known for the tacos sencillos, which aren't exactly what you'd expect. They come with asada, beans, guacamole, salsa, and everything else on a big flour tortilla. They pack a lot of flavor into each bite and are very sizable so don't order 5 thinking you're getting your average LA street taco. I like to eat a lot and two or them are plenty filling. They are reasonably priced and everyone was friendly. The line kept moving so it wasn't a big deal if you patient (if you aren't, just get there early). Parking is not the best with only 3 or 4 spots in front, but there are a couple side streets you can park on if you're lucky. It's all outdoor seating with plenty of tables or you can take a quick walk to the beach. If you are in the area, go see for yourself! read more

These tacos are huge! That may be due to them using flour tortillas instead of the regular corn tortillas that I'm used to. What's pretty neat, is that you can see them grilling the carne asada while you wait in line to order. The smell of it just makes you want to drool. They only serve 2 things here: tacos and quesadillas. The tacos kind of look like a quesadilla but with carne asada, beans, salsa, cilantro, guacamole and cheese. I only had the tacos but it was bomb! I especially love the meat as it was in large chunks and they give you a lot so it was very filling. Usually if I eat tacos i eat more than 4 but I could only have a couple because of the size. But I love it and very different from all the other taco places in the area.
