I'm surprised I have not written a review about T-Flores. Breakfast tacos, specifically the machacado, is just a thing of beauty! It is especially tasty! I love coming here on a Saturday morning. As if that's not enough, they have a variety of tacos during the day that will make your mouth water! For me, I can't get enough of the chicharron and barbacoa tacos. We finally decided to stop by today and we ordered two menudos and 2 barbacoa tacos. The service was ok, our table was dirty so we had to clean it ourselves. Food gets to our table in about 10 minutes. I will say this in the nicest way possible. We are from San Antonio so we know what good, Mexican/Texmex food is. The menudo had no flavoring it was like they added water to it to make it go further and I had burnt pieces of tripe like they scraped the bottom of the pan. I would've much rather have them tell me that they were out of menudo then serve me this crap. The barbacoa tacos were cold. Very, very disappointed with the whole experience. I also got sick after I felt like throwing up the little bit of menudo that I did eat and had to frequent the bathroom many times after eating at this place. read more

We came here on a Sunday on recommendation from friends. - signs posted everywhere notifying customers that they are short staffed and be patient. So we decided to give the. The benefit of the doubt. After waiting in a super long line for about twenty minutes we finally ordered. We had to clean our own table in order to sit down, the young guy delivering orders needed to be talked about his hair - he looked like he had just gotten up. After finally getting our appetizer queso flameado with chips 9 minutes later the chips were mostly crumbs, the queso had about an ounce of chorizo, the only thing we enjoyed was the salsa, the fajita meet inside the tacos was soggy tasted boiled. The pastor meat inside the tacos was super salty, the barbacoa was ok and my daughters burger was good as well. Probably won't be back. read more

Update: I tried coming to Taco Flores in the hopes that something had changed with the customer service and it hasn't at all. The ladies there seem to focus only on the tables who speak Spanish back to them. While I speak Spanish fluently, I would hope that this wouldn't have any bearing on my service but it seems it does. When the table next to me asked for more chips, it was done immediately but when I asked for green salsa in English, the ladies acted as if I was being a bother to them, sighing loudly and seeming annoyed. I wanted to give Taco Flores another chance but this just doesn't seem worth it. I shouldn't have to speak Spanish to receive good service. read more

We found this gem while we were staying in the Humble area and we were not disappointed! It was so good and reasonably priced. We ordered tacos. The bacon bean and cheese had A LOT of bacon chopped up. The beans were delicious and so was the chorizo and barbacoa. The customer service was excellent, they have a great COVID socially distant system on their porch and are not open for dine in. The only real thing to complain about was that they put all the same tacos on a plate with a piece of foil on it. Granted I ordered a lot but foil is cheap and the tacos were for 5 people. Flies everywhere...it's disturbing. People have to wipe down tables because they lack bussers. I had the machacado plate; a very salty plate. They should know better than to add that much salt to an already salty meat. I also asked for a side of barbacoa and it looked and tasted like chopped fajita; also very salty. Tortillas de harina have a coating of the powdered flour. The food is tolerable which is why I give it a 3. However food should not have to be tolerable...especially not something as simple as egg and tacos. Last time my husband and I were down in Humble to see family this place was what was on our minds.. just to see if they changed some things.. Unfortunately, the staff was uncompromising and we paid for things that other restaurants just don't charge for. With all the crazy that's going on in the past years the mom and pop shops have been our priority. Nevertheless, the service and food were subpar. Not worth the wait! This place needs better organization for sure. Food was okay, but definitely not worth the wait. I waited 47 minutes for 5 tacos. That's ridiculous!!! Man I wanted to so bad like their food but all I could taste was lard on everything.. I had the street tacos and they were meh meat didn't have much flavor and the tortillas were soaked in lard along with the sauteed onions :( I also ordered a side of rice and yes it came out hot but it was hard and again sauteed in lard...my husband hat the Mexican burger and that was pretty tasty :). Wish the green salsa was not watered down and had a bigger kick. I was also a little disappointed that they ran out of horchata by 6 pm when they close at 10 or so I think they do. Today I made a purchase at Taco Flores. I ordered two bacon and egg and four chorizo. While the bacon and egg were fine four of the four chorizo and egg had something crunch in them while I was trying to eat. Found out after picking through them there were egg shells in all of them. read more

The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they don't serve beer. Sorry, Hispanic food and beer go hand in hand. We had the sampler which is awesome! Comes with mini sopes, quesadillas and floutas. I had the cheese enchiladas plate with rice and beans. I'm very picky about my enchiladas but these are good. Smothered in chili sauce and perfectly melted cheese. Also a huge plus is they can cook rice. Alit Allot of places under cook and it comes out crunchy, not here. My husband has the menudo plate which is HUGE. It's all gone, nuff said lol. He says it was not too greasy. Daughter has 2 barbacoa tacos, again huge. She could only only eat 1 and was stuffed. Tortillas both corn and flour are hand made. Woop! I completely recommend this place to everyone. Best I've found in the Spring area thus far. Been here 3 months and this by far beats them all. I know this place is an Humble favorite, but, honestly, someone needs to give them lessons on seasoning food. The beans, potatoes and chorizo and eggs on the Favorite Plate had no flavor. The beans were watery and bland. I don't want to have to add salsa to have flavor - the food should stand on its own before you add additional flavor layers. Wow. I have been coming here since about 2001 when this place was nothing more than a single axle trailer. I used to love the el pastor and barbacoa. Love it. Over time, the trailer was replaced with a tiny free standing building and they have slowly added on countless times as the years have gone by. Here's the deal: every time they have expanded, the food and/or service has gotten incrementally worse. They just did another expansion in the last month or two. My wife and i thought we would stop in and give it another try. Good lord!!!!! Based on my theory above, this establishment has officially grown to the perfect size where the food is no longer edible. Absolute crap! Akin to a pizza so cheap no one wants to eat it. I cant believe how bad this place has gotten. Jesus! El pastor: tiny little crispy chunks of nothingness. This used to have great achiote flavor. Now its crunchy flavorless grease. I can almost guarantee you they drop the meat in a fryer in order to blast the holy living sin out of it. Who makes el pastor that way? Lol! Barbacoa: used to have an awesome depth of beef cheek flavor. There was a slight stickiness to the consistency that comes from having the right mix of cheek fat. If you have ever had great barbacoa, you know what i'm talking about. Now it just tastes like beef that someone boiled the bajeebus out of. Salsas: they once had an amazing green salsa. One of the very best in the area. Now its kind of like baby doodoo. Tastes like almost nothing. The red used to be pretty tasty. Now its just......a weird earthy.....something. For the life of me, i cant figure out how this establishment has gone so far off the reservation. They had it nailed down to a science. Apparently, someone took their eye off the ball. Taco Flores is quickly becoming a staple in the Humble area. The breakfast and lunch tacos are top notch and are always fresh. They also serve full lunch and dinner plates. The Barbacoa and Menudo (Menudo is only made on the weekends) are as authentic as you will find anywhere else in the area. Recent renovations to the building have made it easier to get in and out and have made it feel more comfortable to dine in. I absolutely recommend eating here. read more

Although the name is Tacos Flores, they have stuff other than tacos. Hub enjoys their breakfast enchiladas. Two eggs, two cheese enchiladas, patatas con chorizo and refried beans. What's not to like? I always get my bean and cheese tacos. Nummy good. Be advised that the indoor seating is very limited. There is some outdoor seating as well. We have heard about this restaurant and seen it on yelp, so we were excited to get a chance to try it. It was so-so. I will start with the good. The fajita meat was the only saving grace of the meal. It was flavored well. The ground beef was disappointing and the chicken was so-so. We really would have liked to try the pork or barbacoa, but since they were out of both, we didn't get a chance. The 3 stars i am giving are a result of the food, not the service, but i want to make a few comments about that. We arrived 35 minutes prior to closing time, but did not realize it. We were not very welcomed. We were rushed when ordering and were asked if we were taking it to go. We said no and were told that we could eat it outside then (it was chilly today with the wind out of the north and a need for jackets). There were 4 other families eating in the restaurant at the time so we asked why do we need to eat outside and were told they were closing at 2. We were surprised to say the least, but got our jackets on and sat outside. Our order was not correct and we did not get the tacos we ordered. While we ate, they turned the outside lights off. It wasn't dark outside, it was just a rude thing to do. We finished and left prior to 2:00 anyway. Don't think we will return. The food was not good enough to make up for the service. read more

I have been passing by this place for the past year and finally decided to go last night. The beau was craving fajitas, so off we went. We were the only people in the restaurant....Witch can be a little awkward. I have a loud voice and it was echoing in the restaurant, that was....weird. Anyhoo, he got his fajitas....They were good, but I wasn't jumping up and down. I was surprised they didn't come with sour cream, guac and alla that other stuff that places usually serve with fajitas. It was just the meat, onion and bell pepper with tortillas. So, if you like simplistic fajitas, then great. The salsa was super spicy. Which, I have no problem with, but beware. I ordered the barbacoa taco and a fajita beef taco. Barbacoa was the business. Wasn't crazy about the other one. Meat was try and lacking flavor. The food came out in a reasonable time, but, I didn't expect anything less given we were the only peeps in there. The lady was really sweet and helpful. One thing I was really disappointed about, is they had no alcohol. I so badly wanted a beer (or four) but instead I was forced to settle with water. I just had the leftover fajitas for breakfast....They were better today than they were last night...But perhaps it's because I was hungry as a hostage and didn't eat a million chips dipped in salsa first. While the food during our visit good, the service just keeps declining. The wait time to even get chips and salsa is ridiculous, the chips showing up at the same time that our actual meal did. It's not even that they're busy since tables who sat down after us, would not only get their food quicker, but the servers were more attentive and considerate. Just because I don't order in Spanish doesn't mean I don't understand or speak it, and prioritizing those who do seems like bad business. You know there has to be some dope tacos when you walk into the Mexican restaurant and it's packed wall to wall with, well, Mexicans. As a gringo, Mexican customers are the first tell tale sign you're in the right place. And so, that's how I fortunately found myself at Taco Flores before my flight from Bush Intercontinental. It's about a 15 min trek from the airport to the restaurant, so if you have some time definitely take a moment and stop by Taco Flores. The food is cheap, $2 a taco and about $5 for a torta so forget about McDonalds and get some real food. I personally took the clue from the guy in front of me who ordered 6 pork skin tacos and 6 Barbacoa and ordered 1 of each for myself. I really should have ordered 6 each. They were that good. Barbacoa on the corn tortilla is nice and pairs well with the red salsa they bring you. But, the true hero is the pork skin taco which I got on a flour tortilla. The tortillas here are easily the best I've ever tasted, fresh, full of flavor and good ol Mexican Manteca. Personally I would go flour, since they are definitely the best style, but the corn is on par. Additionally the refried beans that come with the pork skin are to die for. Get them if you can.
