I visit Las Vegas Mexican Restaurant #2 in Atascocita once in a while, mainly for the enchiladas, al carbón, and margaritas. The food is generally good, and the prices are legit--not expensive, which I appreciate. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming during my visits. One thing I've noticed is that the restaurant is usually very empty whenever I go. It's often just me dining in, which isn't necessarily bad, but it does feel a little quiet every time. Overall, it's an okay spot--decent food, fair prices, and friendly service. Not amazing, but not bad either. I'll continue stopping by occasionally. read more

Absolutely disgusting experience. I was shocked to see a roach crawling across the floor while we were eating -- and then another one near the wall by our table. That's an instant deal-breaker. Cleanliness should be the bare minimum at any restaurant, and clearly, this place doesn't meet that standard. We let the staff know, and they barely seemed surprised or concerned. No apology, no offer to move us or make it right. Just a shrug like it happens all the time -- which is even more disturbing. I don't care how good the food is (and honestly, it wasn't), there's no excuse for a place serving food to have a pest problem. Won't ever be back, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I was visiting family in the area during lunch time. We wanted to mexican or tex/mex and stumbled upon Los Vega. It a small place in a shopping center. The inside was simple old school mexican restaurant style. There weren't many people when we arrived but some "regulars" began to trickle in. We ordered some lunch specials which are $9.99 including weekends. I order the tacos de carbon. It comes with 2 beef tacos with rice ,beans and guacamole. The plate was good. The seasoning was on point for everything. The fajitas were a bit dry though. We also order the huevos rancheros plate. Eggs were cooked perfectly and everything else tasted really good. We also ordered the cheeseburger and taco al carbon from the kids menu. The kids also enjoyed their food. The servers were very friendly and attentive. Overall a good experience. I really wanted so bad to like this place. The service was impeccable, very nice, friendly, and fast! The inside of the establishment seemed cozy and clean. So, I'll start with the nachos. The portion was great, especially for the price. However, there was a certain flavor on the meat or beans that didn't taste very well. Sort of like tomatoes and soap mixed together. Weird. And the meat was a little like minced meat. The texture was mushy. My daughter loved the burger and fries! She demolished it all. My other daughter like the quesadilla but not the rice and beans. My son enjoyed his enchilada, rice, and beans. The chips and salsa were ok. The salsa, although it did take authentic and homemade, was not my preference for salsa. It had more the taste of a warm soup than salsa. All in all, if I ever went back, it would be just for the service and maybe to give another shot to another menu item. read more

I frequent this place for lunch. They are incredibly fast and inexpensive, have great service and good flavored food. I regularly get the chalupas with beef fajita meat but recently have discovered the number 11 on lunch menu which has a chalupa with no meat, chicken enchiladas, and a puff with queso. They always serve alot if food for the price!! The restaurant isn't typically overcrowded ..it has a nice steady stream of recurrent customers. Try them out!! read more

What an amazing little hidden gem this place is!! The attitude and the service of the staff was amazing. I got a combination plate and my girlfriend ordered steak fajita quesadillas. The chili Reno and the enchiladas were amazing. The cheese enchiladas were so creamy. Her quesadillas were amazing. Truly don't have enough adjectives for how good the food was in my opinion. When I lived in Humble I used to go here a lot. It satisfies the craving everyone has for cheap on point Mexican food. No, it won't knock your socks off but it certainly won't disappoint. I give it 4 stars because the service is amazing... They really do bend over backwards for you. Also, you just can't beat the price. About $5-8 for a plate or about $8-9 for large dinner. I highly recommend the tacos al carbon. Most restaurants only give you two small tacos. Los Vega gives you three large ones!! I'm completely stuffed every time I go. Also, if you order queso... Get it with beef FAJITA meat in it. It's pretty darn good. I emphasize fajita meat because if you get it with regular taco meat it's just not the same. The sauce is great here. The sauce is the first impression of all Tex-Mex restaurants, and this place makes a good one. It's slightly thicker than a standard sauce. That's good, so it actually sticks to your chip. Which is also a good thickness. I think the beef dishes are better than the chicken here, but I've never been disappointed with anything here. The service is fast and friendly...and most important, consistent. I've eaten here several times and the service is never bad. The food is reasonably priced and there are even a la carte options. Margaritas taste like lime flavored water and the salsa tastes like tomato soup with a tiny bit of spice. Chips taste like they came out of a bag. I ordered the pastor tacos and a chicken enchilada. My boyfriend ordered the Acapulco plate that came with 2 cheese enchiladas, a tamale, a beef taco and a cheese puff. Overall, the service was great but we weren't impressed with the food.
