We live closer to the one on Rosecrans Ave but this particular Tacos Giyos on Alondra Blvd is something else. They always get my orders correct especially for a family that has members that are extremely picky with food. They pay attention to your needs unlike other places. The burritos are thick. Beware that just like most other places the burritos get filled more with rice. However, the taste is great! I cannot in good conscience recommend Giyos Tacos on Rosecrans in the city of Paramount. Pre-pandemic this was a great taco spot. Things have changed dramatically. Service as well as hygiene have gone downhill since. Thursday's tend to be one of their busiest days, as they have a 2x1 Al Pastor special. I was aware before heading over. A long wait was expected, but I wasn't in any rush. Once there I placed my large order of tacos (not a single one being Al Pastor). Minutes later I realized I'd forgotten to ask for prepackaged salsa, but figured once my order was up I could ask for some. As I wasn't comfortable using the open air condiment station. I honestly cringed at watching a handful of clients stick their hands into the bins to fill their sandwich bags with cucumbers, lemon wedges, salsa, pickled carrots, and peppers. When my order was ready for pick up, I asked the black-haired, female cashier/server, if she could throw in prepackaged salsa, before I could finish my sentence, she cut me off by saying the condiments were outside. I am aware they offer to-go condiments for the drive-thru service and once again politely asked if I could have some of those. She rudely chuckled and said they no longer prepackage condiments. Clearly a lie. As I had already seen her handling small sandwich bags filled with salsa. As a paying customer I expect better service, and to be treated respectfully. Especially if that is how I am treating the cashier/server. I am fully aware eating out can pose a threat on our health, but why make it easier for clients to get sick by allowing us to handle food out in the open like that? Who doesn't Love tacos... I come here often when I'm in California. I tried their ceviche and it was also good. But hands down if you are looking for amazing tacos here is one place I won't forget about. When you come to this place automatically you will know it's a good place because the line is always long. All this time being here I cannot believe it took me a long time to try this place out. Maybe it is due to the short radius of taco establishments amongst each other or I must not have known what I am missing out on. This taco spot has tacos for $1.10 as well as a few other items (burritos, quesadillas, etc). This is one of the few places where you can get a taco plate (4 tacos, beans and rice, and a drink) for less than $7. I ordered the al pastor (marinated pork), buche (pork maws) and the tripe (tripas). Let me make one thing clear: The al pastor is THE star of the show. Similar in size to Taqueria Mexico, the tortillas are homemade and the meat is light years better. FYI you can get as much salsa as you like! Very affordable options with service that can't be beat. This location can be a bit busy at times due to it's location on Alondra Blvd. but it's worth the time. However unlike Tacos El Fogon they do charge sales tax on their items as well as a 50 cent fee for debit/credit transactions. The also serve menudo on weekends. Well maintained and plenty of seating. Parking can be a bit of a hassle at times. Keep in mind that its the meat that makes the tacos go and Tacos Giyo has the meat. read more

The chorizo and al pastor tacos are my favorite! They remind me of street taco stands but less greasy. The salsa bar is great, you can choose from your typical red & green salsa....but also a guacamole salsa which is deeeeelicious. This place has the best street tacos, trust me I've had lots of tacos but this place is the best around. Tastes very close to TJ street tacos you'll find in Mexico. I personally like their carne asada, carnitas, al pastor, chorizo & lengua. Wow I'm getting hungry typing this up right now. They've got the very authentic "Meat Carousel" they use to cook up the al pastor, I love watching it go round and round and all the juices running down the side of the pork & onions. You see the small but clean stand, the big overhead menu with words like menudo, lengua, huaraches, and even cabeza..., the Tres Hermanos shoe store across the street, and the outdoor seating with orange tables, and then you realize you've found the right place. i mean, kinda like the right place at the right time, because you're about to throw it down on a couple of plates. they give you grilled onions, pieces of cucumbers and pickled carrots as complimentary side dishes. they pile that lettuce and tomatoes on your sopes. their Tortas are soft on the inside and toasted lightly crispy on the outside. $18 got me and my friend 3 sopes, 3 tacos, dos tortas, an horchata and a pineapple drink. pero she couldn't finish the last sope though, so they even wrapped it up for us good. this place is BOMB and you gotta try it if you get all excited about some mean mexican food. read more
