We don't get it.......we just don't get it! This place is usually PACKED, so we've always assumed it was that fucking good......WRONG! While buzzing & on the hunt for late night grub, we decided to hit Giyo's up instead of Tam's. UGH! You know usually everything is DeeLicious when you're drunk? This was not the case, we ordered TONS of food & yeah, well here it goes. Super Nachos.....not Super in any way, barely any Meat & Cheese, drenched in the CHEAP toppings Sour Cream, Onions, Tomato, etc....& only the top layer of chips (way too salty by the way) had anything on them. Shrimp Fajitas.....looks more like a stew, yeah well, shell on shrimp, we're good with that but they're so fucking small it makes it difficult to peel. Despite everything being soaked in a sauce (like I said, stew) the shrimp had NO FLAVOR the only thing on that plate that was good & soaked up any spices was the potatoes, yeah you heard me....POTATOES in fajitas. Oh & we didn't get Tortillas, we got stale Torta buns that were smashed & toasted on the grill. Carne Asada Tacos.....flavorless & dry almost like jerky. Good, cheap and healthy food. If you like authentic, this is your place. You can get 4 tacos and a drink for 5 bucks. This place seems to be one of the more authentic places in the area. The sauces and condiments (as it were) are self serve and well kept. I haven't yet tried anything on the menu other than tacos, but I will have to hit them up for a burrito some day. This is another restaurant for which parking is a problem. The lot they have they share with about 7 or 8 other very busy businesses. On more than one occasion we have had to find parking on the street. Not a real big deal, just something to be aware of if you decide to check this place out. Place is not too bad. It's a quick bite if you are looking for something open late after midnight and tired of Jack in the box and Tam's. The order taker female was nice and helpful on the food. I've never seen $5 dopes but they are 2 times the size so I guess worth it. We got their taco meal with rice, beans and a drink $6.50 and are 2 more tacos $1.10. Each. Over all food was OK. Not cold,not fresh just OK. I really couldn't tell I was eating chicken. Did have taste to it. The onions and cilantro flavored it up. We were out all day and looking for new food so we came here. May or may not come again. They were out of chorizo so might go just to try. It's not like Tacos El Gavilan in Downey but is not bad for a late quick bite. We ate in their covered area. I'd give this place 5 stars for their chorizo and egg breakfast plates alone, but we just had their street tacos and those were fantastic as well! I'm not quite sure how this place stays in business with the amount of food they give for the price. The breakfast plate has to be a pound and a half of food for $5, and it's fricking delicious. It even comes with corn tortillas so you can make your own breakfast tacos. The street tacos were amazing and we got 8 street tacos, 4 carnitas and 4 chicken, two orders of chips and two drinks for $15!! Oh and they have free guacamole, who does that? I ordered the nachos and tacos. First of all I usually go here, I can't believe they did bad on my last trip. The container that the nachos were in; were burnt. The styrofoam was melted on the nachos. That was so nasty. I was going to go back and make a compliant but who knows what they would've done to my food after. Man do I love tacos! ... After a long ride from Vegas these tacos hit the spot. Since I came back broke from vegas, this was a perfect place to eat. With $5 I can get a drink and four tacos, yummy tacos! My boyfriend likes their chicken burritos, but I must warn you it's a messy situation eating their burritos. Al pastor and chicken tacos = 100% legit! Their avocado salsa (the bright green one) is so good and before you leave you must ask the cashier for their caramelized onions and grilled whole jalapenos (they give it to you wrapped in aluminum foil for FREEE) which basically completes your meal!! Tacos Giyo come fully equipped with all the things you will find at a Taco truck except its in a small building on Alondra Blvd. The tacos here get 5 stars any style you order. They have many tacos to choose from like shredded beef, carne asada, carnitas, lengua, just to name a few, but I almost always order chicken tacos. The taco truck style mop buckets filled with Mexican ingredients that sit on the front counter grosses me out, and causes this place to lose a star but they do keep the items fresh. Anything outside of Tacos at this place is not good. I ordered a torta, burrito and quesadilla here on three separate occasions, and all three times i regretted it. I like this place. But, I have like 5 friends who absolutely love this place, and no other Mexican food place lives up to Tacos Giyo in their eyes. We live by like 50 Mexican food places, and we will often drive 5 miles out of our way just for Giyo. In LA 5 miles is often a 45 min drive. I am new to the area and was referred by a friend to this place. My friend said it was really good yada yada, well... I'm sorry but this place was not good at all. I will not be coming to this place any more. What did I get? I ordered one taco de tripas( with everything), one taco de al pastor( with everything) and one sope. The tripas and al pastor were really dry, and flavor less. To disguise the taste they tacked on loads of cilantro and onions... The tortilla taste wasn't nothing special at all as well. When it came to the sope it its one thing I will say was good was the shell. It had a very good soft texture to it. Beside that they screwed it all up by adding very little meat, lettuce almost the equivalent of iceberg lettuce, tomato, and sour cream. Im not sure if I didn't order the right things, or if the cooks didn't care. I do know that I will not be going here anymore. It's an amazing place to get food. The chicken burrito I had the first time I went here was the best I've ever had in the Paramount area. The tacos are also quite nice. Prices are also very cheap. There are many food + drink combos for only $5, including 4 tacos, a burrito, a torta, and a quesadilla. Much better than Tacos Giyo #2, which is closer to my house, but has a tendency to serve dry meat and food that can be a little bit underseasoned. #2 might have improved since I went there, but from my experience the original location is much better. Note: There's not much parking in this area, and during busy times it may be difficult to even get your car inside the small plaza. I like coming here during more off-hours. read more

Really really good tacos! They really hit the spot and the price is great. We got four tacos with rice and beans for 7$ but they have 99 cent al pastor tacos on Thursday. The seating is outdoor and there is more seating in the back. The parking can be difficult but the wait wasn't too bad for the food. They also have cucumbers, jalapeños, and salsa in the salsa bar. If you're looking for decent Mexican fast food, Tacos Giyo is a great place to go. They're drive thru is a little slow, but that's because they make your food to order. Every time I've gotten take out from here my food has been piping hot when I get home. The tacos de carne asada are decent here, not the most flavorful or tender meat I've ever had, but they're pretty good. The chilaquiles are good, the salsa verde is a little too spicy for me (and I like spicy food) so I usually get the salsa rojo. The wet burrito with carnitas meat is my favorite thing to get here. I get it with salsa rojo and onions, cilantro, beans and rice and the meat is tender and delicious. They also serve it to you with some chips and garnish it with lettuce, a big slice of tomato and sour cream on the side. I have come here many times and will definitely come here again. Nothing amazing here but quick, solid good food. Very reasonably priced too. read more

This is one of my favorite places in the area. The food is always great and practically everything is $5. I frequently come here for lunch and grab food for everyone in the office. People light up when they hear I'm taking lunch orders for this place. The elderly woman who takes the orders (I forget her name) is very kind, and I think she recognizes her regulars. She often offers me free grilled onions with my order, and takes the time to make sure I know which orders have which meat. She always throws in forks, napkins, and all that stuff, as necessary. The younger woman, on the other hand, is more straightforward. She rarely smiles, and frequently forgets to put napkins in the bag. Sometimes you have to remind her things or ask for things. But all that means is you get average fast-level service or kind, warm far-above-average mom-and-pop service. This is a terrific place. I can't believe they don't raise their prices. If you have $5 (and a little time to wait in line or find a place to park), I suggest stopping here for lunch and trying it out! read more

I have been coming to Tacos Giyo for quite some time now.The usual spot I hit after a workout. I can safely say that it is the best Mexican fast food joint here in Paramount. I have tasted everything on the menu. Here are some of my favorite things on the menu. Tacos: the tacos here are flavorful and even more so with the sauces and extra things you can put on them. They have a combo 4 tacos including drink is 5 bucks. So you can never go wrong with that. They have a good selection of ingredients for whatever you may order. Torta: This torta is it. There is not a single thing I do not love about it. It's pretty big for the 4 bucks. You get quite a lot. Torta de asada, flavors just blend in even with the avocado slices. Parking is a bit of a hassle, such confined spaces. Customer service could better, they tend to make mistakes on occassion. (Like not handing you your beverage). Overall this is the perfect spot to get a quick fix, you won't be dissappointed. read more

We live closer to the one on Rosecrans Ave but this particular Tacos Giyos on Alondra Blvd is something else. They always get my orders correct especially for a family that has members that are extremely picky with food. They pay attention to your needs unlike other places. The burritos are thick. Beware that just like most other places the burritos get filled more with rice. However, the taste is great!
