So far I'm liking this establishment. Recently I've gone twice. I've only ventured into ordering tacos (Carne asada, carnitas, and tripas). Carne asada and tripas were awesome. Carnitas were ok, it seems like they gave me the meat ends which was tough to chew. I've also ordered the hard tacos (beef), and I would definitely go back and re-order. The customer service was great. So far this has been the best place for tacos in Bellflower and Lakewood. As a comparison, I would say it's a step down to my all-time favorite Mexican "hole in the wall" in Downey: Chilitos. read more

Omg! I never heard of this place, i am eating a huarache and just lost my mind at how good it was. This was my first time and thank you to my sister-in-law and great niece for bringing me here because wow what great food. They even have the Coca-Cola from Mexico that makes the experience like you're in a little pueblos eating grandmas authentic cooking. They don't have the best customer service. The cashier was unable to void my order because I decided I didn't want the six dollar chips and salsa like WTF she literally told me she couldn't give me a refund and I said oh yes you are. Had me waiting around for 30 minutes while being ignored by her and the cook when she was finally able to void it I re-ordered just the three tacos and they ended up making me sick and to top it off they were not even good. Tacos Jalisco is located on bellflower Blvd. next to the 91 freeway in a tiny little shopping center in the far back corner. Parking is usually hard to find depending on what time you come to this location, I've come at night and had a hard time parking but other times I've come in the day time and it has been fine. I would not necessarily say that parking is a big issue here because you can always park on the next street over which is not far at all, or you could wait for someone to come out of the shopping center which only takes a minute because there are people constantly coming in and out of this shopping center. Once you walk in you are immediately greeting by one of the workers. This is a family business so they are all related and they are all kind. The tacos are amazing I used to order the carne asada burrito until I discovered how amazing the tacos were. Both the burritos and the tacos are good here. I've been coming to this place since I was in high school and nothing AND I MEAN NOTHING has changed about this place. The food the salsa the inside still looks the same. I have noticed that recently they have some of their male relatives working here now, it used to be all women but now there are some men working in the back. The tortillas are perfect and taste great and fresh, the meat is always seasoned to perfection and I always ask for cheese and sour cream (I know, not real Mexican tacos) because I like them with cheese and sour cream...don't judge me! This place is not fancy, more like a hole in the wall kind of Mexican food restaurant, but the food definitely makes up for that. This is a small family owned business. I like that however the quality of their meat is not as great as it used to be years ago. I used to be hooked at this place but not anymore. So not only the quality has changed but noticed that their food is very salty, I have bring it up to management and they will just excuse themselves instead of being flexible and using less salt on my order Their prices are slightly higher than other Mexican restaurants and to find available parking at this shopping center can be a real challenge. Every single item on the menu here is outstanding. Even a simple chicken taco makes my daughter roll her eyes in delight and require silence to properly enjoy the experience. Complaining that she wasn't really hungry and only wanted one, she managed to knock off four. The Al Pastor burrito is simply poetic, and add the secret 911 sauce and you will be happier than you imagined possible. The specials are always phenomenal. This is our go-to Mexican place. On a night where craving tacos was at its highest, my husband and I searched for taco spots open near our location and came across this place. We've driven by it so many times getting off the 91 fwy, not knowing how delicious their food was. My husband got the torta and I got a taco of each meat. By far, my favorite was the tripas made cooked to a crisp (recommended by a young gentleman at the register) The elderly man that works here, hooked us up with these EXTRA spicy habanero and red chili sauces that went perfectly with our food. He was so sweet and helpful. Definitely coming back to this spot. The pictures don't do it any justice because the food tastes way better than it looks. I have no words to describe my experience here. I came on my lunch break and cashier 1 who gave me my order gave me the wrong one which she blamed me for being on the phone. It's funny how my receipt had the right order but they gave me the wrong food. Then the cook gave me my food and told me to next time pay attention and cashier 1 commented again raising her voice. So wanted a burrito and the last time I was here was a few years ago. So I figured let's go to the place on the corner, well I really made a big mistake. Today's meal was two Super Loco Burritos well let's just say it was crazy I came here and the burritos were not super. I also got the chips and salsa for $3.59 that were less than adequate consisting of 20 chips and a thing of salsa. Plus two sangria the OG ones in the bottle. So no sour cream in the burritos, two 1/4 inch slices of unripe avocado, more beans and rice than veggies and meat. I'm telling you for $9.59 each WTF. So I voiced my disappointment to the young lady behind the counter that after spending $30.98 at the place the burrito was not worth it. The girl starts giving me a attitude and says that at Subway two subs are $22.00 and that she was sorry I couldn't afford to eat there. I was taken a back be this and was like what. So I picked up my shit and left. So I'm l checking out the receipt and they even charged me to use my credit card. I have been to a lot of Mexican places but this one is a hella rip off. I wanted a sample, so I had a carnitas, carne asada, al pastor and also ordered an al pastor sope (which are $2.29). J ordered a burrito, which they forgot to charge us for ( I didn't realize it until I got back to work). With our sodas it's a damn good deal for lunch. It wasn't that busy but had a steady stream of customers, which means high turnover which = fresh. Of course homemade sauces which were delicious (I tried all 3 for good measure). I had 2 tacos and a torta planchada y asada. Tacos were good, Asada and Al Pastor, add your cilantro, onion, salsa you are rolling. But the torta OMG! Torta planchada to be exact. I think it was the best torta I have ever had. It had in no specific order but as if fate itself lined these ingredients up, Jamon (ham), melted cheese, carne asada, tomatoes, jalapeños, avocado, sour cream, and believe and touch of mayo. All this in between a perfectly grilled, fresh, Mexican roll, nice and neat with just a little bit of melted cheese as you pulled it apart. As I readied my first bite with a little salsa and looked into its eyes, it was love at first sight. I took that first and................................................ The place is difficult to get to and parking can be a headache. But once inside you are greeted warmly by the people in side. Came here for the tacos. Ordered two kids of tacos which I usually judge a Taco place by: Pastor and Cabeza. The pastor was dry and missing some spice. The Cabeza was okay, but not great. The tacos themselves are deserving of a three, but had to take it a notch down because of the salsas. That salsas were very mediocre and no where near Mexican Taco standards. They were very watery and not at all spicy. Will keep looking for the top taco spot in or around Bellflower. read more

I second Rachel. The carne asada burrito (just meat and rice for me) may be the best I've had. The flavor is wonderful and it's juicy enough, not too juicy. I love their rice too. I'm really picky about Mexican rice. Perfectly cooked. The Medium salsa is plenty hot (and I can usually take the heat). If I'm using the Hot, I have to take a bite without salsa after each bite with salsa. So yummy! For under $5, way worth it. ===================================================== UPDATE - 2/11/08 I feel the need to update now that I've actually been to the place myself instead of having coworkers bring the food to me. They got an A rating! Awesome. It's a tiny little hole in the wall (NO RESTROOMS...even for customers) but it's kept very clean. Taco Jalisco is very yummy. This is a classic hole-in-the-wall. If you live around the Bellflower area you need to try it at least once. My co-worker introduced me to it and I have been going back ever since. I always stick with (and have only had) the carne asada burrito w/ rice, beans, onions, cheese & cilantro. It is about $4 and is very filling. I would stick the mild or medium salsa. The hot salsa is beyond hot- and the flavor is poor. The restaurant is very small, there are hardly any tables, and it feels a little dirty when you are in there. The food is good though, I would suggest ordering anything TO GO. read more
