Came here by accident instead of the nearby taco place because my friend and I couldn't read signs; we didn't notice until we ordered lol. We ordered fish and shrimp tacos because of the taco Tuesday deal. It's a drive through with outside seating only, so be prepared to sit in the cold or take it home. To begin, something I thought was weird was that although the receipt said $9.88, we were charged $10.27. We didn't say anything at the time because I mean it's just 40 cents but it's kind of shady. I don't mind tipping or paying extra, but wish there was more transparency because it reflects on the business and their values. Anyways, onto the food. The fish and shrimp tacos were BOGO so about $5 for 2 or $2.50 per taco. It's not even worth $2.50. They were honestly the worst fish tacos I've ever had. They were soggy, bland, and the sauce just tasted watery. I lost my appetite eating it. Now I know you shouldn't expect much from Alfredo's Mexican Food, as they're usually known to be that one option that's open at 1am or something, but come on now... I have driven past this place many times in the evening time and the neon sign always stood out to me. Decided to try it out today and was thoroughly impressed. The menu had everything I could hope for, and the server helped me make sure my order was to my liking. Special shoutout to the manager of this location Ziran for letting me know I could customize my burrito and walking me through my options. I got an adobada burrito with rice, beans, and guacamole. The guacamole tasted fresh and really complemented the smoky taste of the pork. Adding the red sauce on top added spice and tied everything together for me in which was one of the best burritos I've had in the 626 area. I recently visited Alfredo after seeing a TikTok review by Hungry4Munches, where he claimed their carne asada fries were "bomb." After watching the video, I was excited to try them for myself, so I headed there at 10 PM, thinking I'd enjoy a late-night snack. Unfortunately, I was let down. The carne asada fries were awful. The asada had no flavor whatsoever, and the fries were soggy and lukewarm--definitely not fresh. To top it off, the green sauce was just watery and bland, which only made the combo worst I also noticed a sign saying the place was under new management, and now I understand why the food was so disappointing. Trash... What a waste of time. I won't be coming back and definitely do not recommend this place if you're craving good carne asada fries. Worst experience! The last few times I've come here, the worker seems determined to make sure I know what an inconvenience it is that I'm here ordering food. No smile, no greeting, no "thank you," nothing. Just this look on her face like she's smelling a fart in church, and a "please don't come back again" expression. Prices and products: a year ago, a carne asada burrito was $6.49. Today: $9.99 plus tax. Yeah, go ahead and tell me about the cost of food and transportation and distribution and labor shortages and that's fine-- but then, give me the same burrito you used to make, not one that is CLEARLY smaller than it used to be. Like, noticeably lighter and not nearly the size it used to be. And their new "limit 2 hot sauce cups per order" with 25¢ per extra? ... and again, the ones in the bag today were so ridiculously watered down, they weren't even salty or hot anymore. Sad how terrible this has gotten here. So to review: Alfredo's, you survived COVID shutdowns, then decided to raise prices 40%, shrink your food items, start charging for loss leaders like tiny plastic cups of watered down hot sauce (yes, we all noticed), and treat long-time customers with rudeness and a lack of basic business courtesy on top of it all? We're out, and won't be back... makes me pretty sad-- this place was my kids' favorite place in our neighborhood. I placed an online order through yelp. When I got there, the cashier (lady) told me their tablet was off and they've stopped accepting online orders. (which ok understandable) My issue was that she did not try to accommodate me. She was just rude with an attitude. The charge is currently pending. This place has always been my go to for carne asada burritos. I often ask for it to be made with guacamole, sour cream and Pico de gallo. It is my cure from hunger pains as result of skipping out on lunches. The size of the burrito is plenty for a grownup and not the little size ones they call large elsewhere. The night cashier will take your credit card information. Check your receipt before leaving. The cashier adds a "misc" charge and then they do another adjustment charge. They cashier will charge you twice and give you only one receipt. I checked my bank account and there was 3 separate transactions for $20. I asked her to separate the two order... each order had one item... and she asks "how do you want me to separate them".... THEY NOW SERVE GROUND UP MEAT AND CALL IT "CARNE ASADA" It pains me to write this review because this was my favorite place for carne asada fries and I've been coming here for a decade. I ordered carne asada fries but was served ground up meat instead. When I opened the box, I knew immediately that something was off. The meat wasn't chunky or dark brown. It was ground and had a very pale brown color (ew.) It looked like the reject meat that was ground up then served as fake carne asada. To verify that I wasn't crazy, I looked at old Yelp photos for Alfredo's and compared the meat served back then to what I received now and can see the noticeable difference between the two. I tried some of the meat and it just didn't taste like carne asada. I'm not a food snob, but ground beef is NOT carne asada. Carne asada is grilled steak - I don't know why they're serving ground beef instead. They're also now charging $13 for "carne asada" fries which is ludicrous. Alfredo's need to either replace the word "carne asada" to "ground beef" on their menu or bring back the legit carne asada meat. Luckily I was able to get a refund. I'm pleased about that, but I will never come back here. I'm sure other places still serve carne asada. read more

This fast food Mexican joint serves up a huge portion of meat, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and guac all in a monster tray serving - perfect to split with a friend or two. The prices leaning on the edge of pricey make you wonder if it's better to swing by around the corner for quality tacos, but then you remember again feeling hungry at 2AM leaves you no choice but to dig in deeper for your super fries addiction. The double double-thru and card payment acceptance make this the most convenient place to pickup your late night cravings. I believe there a few other locations spread out thru SGV. They're not the most flavor-saturated, but it may definitely take care of your cravings for Mexican food. I can't speak on the burrito, but I hear it was good. It was huge in size and super heavy, though! I can imagine it was super filling. The sopes combination was good; it comes with refried beans and rice. The taquitos (3) were smothered in guacamole and topped with shredded cheese. Can't say no to that! Again, the food is pretty bland, but it gets the job done! Service: 3 out of 5 For a fast food joint, they take incredibly long to prepare. We waited at the drive-thru window for a good 15 minutes for the food to be prepared. I suppose that's a good thing in a way, because they're preparing fresh food as the order comes in? Also, they have an interesting setup with the drive-thru. There are 2 drive-thru windows on either side of the building. The one I used (on the left side from the entrance to the drive-thru) had a window on the right side of the vehicle. So, if someone accidentally gets onto this lane with no passenger sitting on the right side of the vehicle, making transaction and gathering food will be very challenging. When in doubt, just get into the right lane leading to the right side of the building. Also, the drive-thru lanes are narrow, so be careful! read more

The meat they use her is way juicer than their competitors and there is so much flavor! My sister is a vegetarian and I got her the potato tacos. She said it was delicious and had so much flavor.
