The tacos are different but very good. The tortillas taste different and soft but not soggy, nor are they like the corn tortillas you buy at the store. I can't explain, but I've been to more than two handfuls of taco stands and trucks, and this one has to be my top 2. Service is so fast. Do not let the long lines fool you. They work so efficiently, and you get your food quicker than any other taco stands. After you order, you're given a ticket. By the time I was done getting the salsas and taco condiments, they called my number. Tacos de Pastor 10/10 so much flavor, tender, and juicy Suadero 10/10 tender and juicy Asada 9/10 marinated well, but tbh there were a few dry pieces Pollo 9/10 well seasoned and could taste the char and not dry! Baked potato was huge! It was fluffy and buttery. Topped with carne asada and cheese. I would reorder everything again and try other meats and menu items.
love coming here on Tuesday because they have taco Tuesday for only $1! I haven't seen much places doing taco Tuesday for $1 for a long time so I'm really happy I was able to find this place. Their tacos are really good too. They give a good amount of meat as well! I like getting their al pastor and I love how it comes with a good amount of pineapple. I just wish they have beef tongue. Service was fast too!
Alright, alright, I won't gatekeep Tacos Los Cuates any longer. It had been a few months since I'd last been here, and I was just about to be completely heartbroken when I drove up and didn't find Tacos Los Cuates in its usual spot. Thankfully, drove a little further and found them on the opposite side of the street! This is my go-to spot whenever I'm visiting the 626 area, and it's on par with some of my favs in downtown LA. Although I don't speak Spanish and there's definitely a language barrier, the lady taking my order is always so patient, and other customers around are willing to jump in to help. As a small-statured Asian lady, I've always felt safe and cared for, despite the dark and unassuming location of this taco spot. Ok now, onto the food. They have a variety of meats including asada, buche, pastor, tripa, suadero, cabeza, and buche. My go-to choices are their asada, buche, pastor, and suadero, and I'm hoping they'll bring back my favorite of them all - lengua! I'm usually not a huge fan of pastor that comes with pineapples, but this place does it well and it's freshly sliced from a trompo! Now I've been to a lot of taco trucks and stands, but the way they marinate their meat makes all of the tacos so perfectly flavored and deliciously juicy. I have never had a dry taco here. I also love their quesadillas with your choice of meat inside. After you order, you go and bag your own limes, cilantro and onion, and there are small cups for the sauces - rojo, Verde, and what I assume is an avocado-like verde. All three are delicious, and you should definitely get them. This time, I was ordering for a bunch of family, and they handled our large order of 35 tacos perfectly. Service was fast, and we were in and out in under 20 minutes, even with several folks in line ahead and behind us. *hot tip: they are one of the only places I know that still does Taco Tuesday for $1!!! *hotter tip: they only take cash, Venmo, and Zelle so plan accordingly! *hottest tip: if you are ordering for a large group, order in plates (i.e., each person is a plate), and they'll just stack it in the order you placed them.
Service was okay it is Tuesday so it does get busy, the sauces are good and containers available for convenience, the meat lacked seasoning to me but I dig flavor, quantity and quality are good
Super delicious street tacos and even more delicious when they are $1 each on Tuesdays! I discovered them by accident when they were at a different location in the 626 area but for the longest time, they have been around the Arcadia above El Monte on Peck Road. Depending on when you come, you can get your tacos super quick or need to wait a bit due to the crowds/ people having large orders but it's not that long usually. Horchata is so good here too and it's a big cup for $5!
Super delicious $1 tacos on Tuesdays! Though it is hard to communicate due to the language barrier (Spanish), the server is super kind and accomodating with orders! Highly reccomend the el pastor or the carne asada, both are very flavorful and made fresh! It's hard to beat the price!
If you're ever in Chinatown, make sure you stop by the station to check if Tacos Los Cuates is across the street. The lady who helped me was very nice and I felt safe at this stand at 9 PM, toting a piece of luggage around with cars whizzing by and people walking by occasionally. There's not much ambience since the stand is at a car heavy four-way intersection, but they had one table with two chairs and two trash cans. Al pastor could get it! Love that they automatically include the pineapple and the texture and flavor of the al pastor made me want to order two more tacos. Carne asada was good too, not chewy or tough. I like that they have a self serve toppings station and the onion chunks are varied in size, which I love as a big onion girly. They also had lemons, pico de gallo, three salsas, and pickled onions. If you love onions this is the place for you. It also wasn't too sharp and biting in onion flavor so you could definitely pile it on ;) I hope to see them in Chinatown more often!
The mythical $1 TACO TUESDAY STILL EXISTS!! There's a part of me that's reallllllyyyyyy hesitant on writing a review for Tacos Los Cuates, only because I'm afraid of the crowds getting bigger and the lines getting longer, but alas. Not gonna gatekeep good food! They do move around and I think they have 2 vending set ups, so please do call if you can't locate them. Very helpful in letting us know where they were for that evening and when we were ordering, despite the language barrier. Aside from cash they also take Venmo and Zelle. I got one of everything for their $1 Taco Tuesday special. The meats they had include: asada, chorizo, pollo, buche, pastor, tripa, cabeza, and suadero. Many of these, like buche and suadero, I don't usually see at the other taco stands that post up near me or even some of the taco trucks I see at events, so it was really cool that I got to try these meats in a taco for only $1! The pastro tacos came with pineapple, which was also really neat, just adding that there. We also ordered some horchata which came in a huge cup. Not watered down at all and they have a selection of other aguas frescas as well. Even with the line of people, the service was really quick and everything came out nicely hot and toasty warm from their grill. When you're waiting to get your order you can pack up some of their salsa (verde, roja, and a guac base one) and all the other toppings (cilantro, limes, onions, etc.) as you wait for your meal. Can't wait for the next Tuesday that I'm stopping by!
Street Tacos!! I love street tacos. It's well flavored, lots of fun toppings and so many sauce options. Stumbled upon this place and decided to try. There was a person making tortilla from scratch! Another person on the grill and one taking orders. There was a line but it did not take that long. Of course I had to try the al pastor since I saw it hanging! Thinly carve al pastor and a slice of pineapple. Beautiful presentation and full of flavor with every bite. It was so delicious! The staff was friendly and helpful too! Extra bonus points.
Went there last night and there was nobody in line.. so service was fast, I love their Al Pastor but have not tried their Carne Asada which is cooked over wood which is just like Mexico... The only thing is there size of their tortilla's is street size or just small but they put alot of meat on it so you can separate 1 of the tortilla from it and make 2 small tacos out of 1, last note.. the only thing i can see that vendors in Mexico do to their tacos is dip it in the oil of the Al Pastor prior to putting any meat in it, that really makes a difference in flavor... but still its awesome Al Pastor tacos.
Solid spot for late night tacos. Love that they have a trompo for Al pastor. They didn't slice my tacos from it directly, which would make it that much better, but was a decent option for the late night taco cravings. Tried a few other meats, like asada, buche, cabeza and chorizo. Have to say asada and Al pastor were the stand outs here I never like it when prices are not posted, but it didn't seem very expensive for a burrito, 8 tacos and a large horchata. About $25, $30 with tip. Service was basic. Not very chatty, but efficient and quick.
I got lost while trying to find this spot, but luckily, I called the number and the person who answered was nice enough to text me the address to find it. Also, the tacos are by far one of my favorites in the area.
I came here because of TikTok. (I know, I know, I'm an idiot) I should have known, and waited, but I thought I was early on the trend! When I got there, the line was really long, but we waited because we were hungry. When we ordered, the lady didn't really understand us, and we had a huge order. It took about 40 minutes to order, but OVER AN HOUR to get our food and be called. By the time we got our food, the majority of us was no longer hungry. I ended up ordering alhambre and the al pastor baked potato- but they forgot the alambre. We got charged for it too, but we were SO tired, that we decided to just leave and forget about the loss of money. Then again, we had a LARGE order of several potatoes and alambres so whatever. The place was good, but was it 1+ hour waiting good? Hell no. Luckily I live in the area so if I ever pass by and they have a short line I might stop by, otherwise this is NOT the place to go to from far away. I don't know if the lines are still long, but they need to learn line management as well as working a better way to organize their space to be more efficient. Even having a sign on the side of their tent so the people in line can think about what to order while they are in line, instead of figuring it out at the cashier. Move the salsa area to the other side, so people don't have to double back into the line to get their salsas, or even have a separate area to move people away from the tent. ALSO, get the cashier that speaks LOUDER. I ended up speaking Spanish because it was faster and easier and somehow louder so I could hear lol

The BEST taco stand around! The quality, prices, and service are all top-notch. On Tuesdays, tacos are only $1.50 -- just be prepared for a bit of a line because it's totally worth it. They recently started accepting cards, which is super convenient. There's also a salsa bar and a great selection of aguas frescas. I usually skip juice, but their orange drink is a must-try! There are a few taco tents down that street so look for the red one. We come here at least once a week and hope they never go away. read more

Came here because the SIL said he was always there with a line and she'd been tempted to go in the way back from work. Pastor: really tasty. Comparing it to my gold standard if tacos El Gordo, it's different but still really good Asada: honestly, was good but was a little bland. Thought it could use some more char (or any) flavor. Cabeza:. Great texture and cooked perfectly but also a little lacking in the flavor department Lengua: meaty gold. This was hands down my favorite. Super good beef flavor and soft. Complimented the onion and cilantro really well. When my SIL goes, she says there's always a line. I went at about 6:40 and there was no line when I walked up but there were able 10 people after I left. My SIL bought a lot of tacos for us since we're visiting, but I know the lengua and cabeza were both 3.50 total. I'll definitely go here over King Taco simply for the cost and shorter line. read more

This taco stand gets my 5 star vote. The tacos are delicious and they are comparable to the ones I get in San Diego. For less than $3, you will get an authentic mexican taco with various fillings. One thing for sure to try is their famous Asada. That food was an adaptation of the Gyros from the middle east or Greece. It's freshly made on site with a huge meat drum rotating around a furious furnace. Everyone seems to order at least couple of these tacos. They also have BBQ chorizo and chicken. I guess you can either eat them with tortillas or just straight without anything with it. We found this place through Instagram as so many of our friends are raving about it. I understand they also opened a stand in Long Beach. The line tends to get long but they complete an order very quickly. read more
If you ask me where I'd like to get tacos. I'd tell you Tacos Los Cuates. It's one of my favorite taco spots and I'm so glad they have a stand in the SGV area. What always attracts me for always wanting to come back is the Al Pastor Taco. It's on a trompo and fresh everyday. The meats I usually order is the Al Pastor, Buche (stomach) , tripa (tripes) cabeza (head). All the meats I get are always fresh and flavorful. Buche is on the fattier side just the way I prefer. Tripa is good but I wish it can be more crispier. Al pastor is my all time favorite, freshly slice off the tromps , juicy with so much flavor and it comes with slices of pineapples. I usually get it in tacos and you will see a lady hand making the tortillas. I do crave for a burrito from time to time. Portion is fair and more than enough for one person or to share. Another few items I recommend or tried before is the tortas and the stuffed potato. It's so worth it and they pack it with lots of meat. Sauce bar is on the side of the stand. Self served along with the utensils. Since the stand is locating on the side walk, traffic can get pretty tight on a busy day. They will give you a number and call you once the number is ready. Most of the time in Spanish, so starting practice your numbers in Spanish Always a great experience with delicious food every time. No regret! read more

Really good al pastor tacos here. The lines you usually see there already tell you they have more than a few fans. They arrived a few months ago which was overdue cause there were like hardly any taco stand options in the area. They offer a variety of options other than tacos like mulitas, tortas and quesadillas. Located on Peck Road on the sidewalk outside of Green Market. Plenty of parking. They are here after 5:30 pm every night usually except Monday night. read more

Came twice and had two dramatically different experiences! First time, I came around 8pm on a Saturday and waited 1.5 hours in line to find out they ran out of potatoes, al pastor, and lengua. I was really disappointed that they were out of basically everything I went there for and it would've been appreciated if they told those waiting in line that they were out those items. However, I understand that they're really busy and probably didn't have the time to do all that. After waiting another 30 minutes for my order, I finally tried the tacos and they were in fact really really good, maybe the best I've ever had! I also really enjoyed their salsas which were self serve along with all the other condiments. Even though the food was great, I would not wait that long ever again, definitely only coming before opening. RATE: 3/5 After having those delicious tacos, I came back on Tuesday because I heard that tacos were only $1 when they're originally $1.75 on any other day. I was prepared this time around and arrived pretty early @5:30pm which is when it says it opens on their IG, but in actuality, they set up @5:45pm and started taking orders 30 minutes after that. I finally got my hands on the papa rellena and ordered a bunch of tacos since they were only a dollar! Still couldn't try the lengua since they were out. Honestly was disappointed by the potato because it was pretty pricey ($9) and they forgot the tortillas on the side. Would much rather order 9 tacos for the price of the potato. RATE: 4/5 All in all, this might be the best place to get tacos in the 626 area, and would definitely recommend stopping by to come try! Highly recommend to come early to be the first in line, or else I don't really think it's that worth it since the wait can be up to 2 hours. As always, remember to tip these hard workers and try to bring exact change (small bills + quarters) to make their lives easier! Pretty good quirky potato tacosI saw this stand in tiktok and decided to go there with my girlfriend. The wait was about 20 minutes in line, a little long but this place literally be crowded as heck. I was getting pretty hungry by the surrounding hot dog stands. You all know what I'm talking about, the hot dog stands are always super tempting. Once we got our potato tacos everyone is raving about we had to grab the sides by ourselves. It's okay but definitely not the cleanest solution. the tacos themselves were OKAY at the very most. The meat was good, the cheese was great, however the addition of a potato felt more like a gimmick rather than an innovation. In general it's a great place to try, but I don't think I will be coming back. I loved the pineapple juice! That thing was bussin so hard read more

Best Taco Tuesday in El Monte. They make their tortilla on the spot. The al pastor is authentic, they even slice a tiny pineapple piece in the taco. The only drawback is the long line. read more

This taco stand is always busy on the weekend so we decide to give it try on a Thursday. There was no wait when we arrived but not too soon afterwards there was a line. I ordered the asada and pastor tacos. The asada didn't have any fat and it was well done. The al pastor included a pineapple and had its own style of flavor. It's not your typical pastor flavor, but I really enjoyed it. The red salsa was the perfect pairing: spicy with a smoky flavor. Sooooo good! read more

This place is NOT what it's hyped up to be. I saw a tik tok video raving their potatoes al pastor and tacos. I drove from San Diego for this trash. 1st all I got here at 710 pm and line was already long, it was 820 when I finally got to order. They had already ran out of potatoes, and lengua. I ordered tacos al pastor and asada..... biggest disappointment of my life. The tortillas they use are DRY AF!! Gross ass tortillas, the only condiments they packed were onion and cilantro. I had to go back to ask for salsa. Don't even waste your time.... I'm sure your better off eating the damn Pollo tacos from El Pollo Loco across the way. Smfh read more
