In Lemoore, California, I recently tried Tacos Los Juanes. I wasn't sure about the restaurant as it was in an older shopping complex and it looked very small, but surprisingly, once you walk inside, the restaurant looked great inside. I ordered a chicken burrito and a chicken torta. The torta tasted fresh and delicious, while the chicken burrito had a good grilled char and also was delicious. Where a lot of restaurants I have been to, emphasize on rice and beans and not much chicken, Tacos Los Juanes puts a lot of chicken in the burrito and I absolutely loved that. Nice for a quick bite. Some of the other reviews are overated This can't be the best Mexican restaurant in the area with no chips for the salsa bar and no beer or wine. I ordered 2 ala carte items. My family and I went to get some tacos and burritos. Nobody was in front of us in line. There were two tables with people sitting in them when we got there. Both had their food. We ordered, and ten minutes later a softball team came to the store, ordering after us. After 30 minutes we still didn't have our tacos and burritos. 30 MINUTES! This isn't gourmet food. It's a step above fast food, and it's not worth waiting for 30 minutes to get a burrito I can get made elsewhere in 90 seconds. Nobody came to apologize, or say, hey, we know it's been a wait and we're sorry and we're working on it. When I went to the counter to get my money back because after 30 minutes we still didn't have our burritos, they tried telling me that they're really busy - except they weren't for the first 10 minutes we were there. Tried their shrimp tacos recently!! There was a good portion of shrimp which was nice! My only complaint is that it had no flavor. Do not go to this place! I ordered something on the menu that was $8.50 and they charged me an extra $1.50 saying they always do that but when my friend picked up from them they did not. Me: That's what a California Burrito is, and it's on the menu for $8.50 Attendant: We don't have it on the menu. Me: Yes, it's right there near the bottom. Attendant: (Turns around to look) Where at? We were looking for a place close to highway 198 to grab a quick bite while driving to Sequoia National park. I went to Yelp and found Tacos Los Juanes. We were so impressed with the food and service we decided to have dinner here on our way home! It is located in an older shopping plaza with plenty of parking. The interior is simple and clean with plenty of seating. The food was delicious and fresh. I tried an asada and polio tacos for lunch and burrito asada for dinner. Hubby had the chicken burrito for both meals. I also ordered a watermelon water for the road which was so refreshing on a hot summer day. Bathrooms were also very clean. read more

For what it is, this place is five stars for sure. If you are expecting something fancy, you aren't looking for authentic Mexican food. The place is hidden in a shopping center, easy to miss unless you are looking really hard for the tiny sign. The menu is full of options, though I didn't see raspados at 8:30 pm, there was plenty to choose from. I tried a barbacoa taco and a carnitas taco with everything and green sauce. Also a cheese quesadilla. The taco tortillas are corn, and they crisp them slightly on the grill I think before loading with meat and cilantro/cabbage and salsa. They were delightful in flavor and texture, which is a big deal for me because corn tortillas are usually more of something I endure for tacos than enjoy. The barbacoa was fresh and meaty, tasty but needed more salt for my palate (though most things do). The green sauce has a slight kick, nothing uncomfortable, but you'll remember you're eating Mexican food. The carnitas were the real star....buttery with crispy edges and super flavorful. The cheese quesadilla was a cheese quesadilla. Yummy but nothing special. All things considered, it was great! I can't wait to go again and try a burrito! read more

MENU HAD SO MUCH SELECTION from caldos "soups" to dinner plates served with chile rellenos pr tamales.. My reason I took a star ....My son & I ordered asada fries..1st time we have them..I personally didnt like how the cheese sauce was thin runny cheese sauce on botton of my fries...making my fries gross...Then I'd think they'd use lettuce instead of shredded cabbage...Asada fries are over rated...My son thought they were good... Found this place a few months ago and have been back many times. The prices are right. The tacos are simple, juicy, and delicious. My favorites are the carne asada tacos and the chicken tacos, which are always hot and made-to-order. Fresh tamales are also always hot, moist, and tasty. Only complaint I have is a small one that isn't about the food, but one that actually keeps me from eating at TLJ more often: when you dine in and use up the few small-sized napkins they provide (the food is a bit messy just by the way it is), you have to keep going back to the register to ask for more. I wish TLJ would just put some napkins out at the self-service counter near the register so that when I need another one, I can go get one without having to wait in line with dirty hands and ask for more. (If they're trying to cover the cost of napkins, charge an extra few cents per order to offset that, maybe?) Also, the only water is bottled (obviously not free). A complimentary filtered water station (even if they charged $0.10 for a plastic cup) would be much appreciated. read more

Say what you will about Fresno, it has a great food market. So I went looking for a good Mexican place, maybe one to be my go to place. I might have found it with Tacos Los Juanes. I have been there twice now, and at different times. My first trip I ordered some tacos, a quesadilla, and a strawberry smoothie. Let's start with the tacos. I got a mild asada taco for my mother in law. Wasn't sure she would like it, but she was willing to try it. She loved it! My three tacos were the go to test tacos asada and carnitas. Love those two. Then I noticed that they had chicharrón tacos so I got that one. Loved all three! I rank them in this order, carnitas, chicharrón, and than asada. The quesadilla was for my little girl and she loved it. My wife liked it too as she helped her eat it. The second trip was in the morning and I ordered a Ham Breakfast Burrito. Spicy sauce... awesome. Much better than the one at the gas station that I had been picking up. Just the right amount of egg. Now the smoothies are a bit harder to rate... I believe that they use fresh fruit so that adds a variable. The strawberry one rocked. The mango one I had with the breakfast burrito... well I don't know if it is fair to rank it as I drank it after I had brushed my teeth and hadn't had anything else and the mango used might not have been the ripest... I don't hold that against a place when they use fresh fruit. The only other question I have, and I forget to ask, is if I can get a to go container for their fresh salsa. I love their flavors. Made a over the phone order of a sausage burrito with lemon and red sauce on the side. They said it would be ready in 10min. Once i got there, they had my burrito ready and i left. I should have check my bag because they failed to put a side of lemon and sauce when they said would include it in my order. But overall, if it wasn't for that, they would have gotten a 5 star.
