The nachos are always huge and I can never finish it alone, it's just packed with so much goodness of meat, salsa, beans and more. We go here every time we visit our daughter in college. It's definitely on the restaurant to eat at while here. Went in and tried their combo two taco plate. I got the al pastor tacos and they were pretty good. They had a generous amount of meat, the taco overall wasn't dry but juicy and overall had a great flavor. On the other hand their torta needed much improvement. Ordered takeout tonight. Tacos al pastor and a side of rice. The flavor of the rice was perfect. The texture was a little dry but still enjoyable. The pork was very very greasy but well cooked ground meat. I would eat again for the flavors, but you definitely have to have strong stomach acid to combat all the grease. read more

I have been coming here for a few years now. This family run restaurant is amazing. They have the best pollo verde I have ever had, no joke. I do switch it up every now and then and get the carne asada or their taquito burrito. The supreme nachos is only $7.99 and I have not been able to finish them in a single sitting yet. They are open late which is why they are my go-to drunk munchy restaurant. But you definitely do not have to be intoxicated to enjoy their food, I stop by all times of the day. Pretty expensive for so called "classic Mexican food" but it's in a great spot and stays open super late for all of the college kids craving a burrito. Not a lot of sitting space so be ready to grab and go. Staff is overall pretty friendly, especially for what they have to put up with being in the direct center of all of the frat houses. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in town. It has a menu that is not discriminating towards a vegetarian diet, and that goes a long way when you want a quality meal. It seems to get a bad representation from college students I know, who claim that food here made them sick once. This is easily dismissed by the fact that they have only ever eaten here at 2am after a long night of drinking. I was heart broken when I pulled up to Tacos De Acapulco and saw that it was now called Tacos Mary. I thought for sure that it had changed by the lack of their signature "ass puddle" that constantly flowed from behind the restaurant across the sidewalk and into the street stinking up the entire intersection of 5th and Ivy on a hot day. I walked in and the lady behind the counter assured me in better English than I had ever heard spoken there by an employee that the food had not changed at all. I was a little skeptical, but it still smelled the same inside, so I went ahead and ordered my Pollo Colorado burrito. It was indeed the same burrito that I remembered so fondly. I have been here so many times. Particularly when I am drunk yes.... However never drunk enough to fall for their continuous short changing stategies.
